If I see anyone on my feed destroying or even threatening to destroy their Love Live! merchandise, I will immediately block them. This whole situation is a mess, but people doing this in “response” or “retaliation” to what happened on twitter yesterday are not Love Live! fans or Livers.
There is a cultural reason why Japanese and Asians find it very shocking and disturbing to see merchandise being destroyed. When you destroy merchandise, it’s like saying that you do not respect the people who created the character, the people who made the figure, the characters themselves and anyone associated with the character. It’s a very strong statement of hate.
It’s why there was a lot of strong reaction when a few people destroyed/defaced their Honoka figures and smashed Love Live! BDs or Emitsun CDs during the height of that incident. It’s like a slap to their face.
It may seem over-the-top to you, but this is the culture in ‘conservative’ Asia. This is the lens through which these actions are viewed because Love Live! is a Japanese Anime that was made for a Japanese audience.
That’s all I have to say on this matter. I’m not even gonna talk about the incident that led to these disgusting photos and responses. Just know that if you’re doing this in a misguided attempt to retaliate or look cool, all you’re really doing is showing how ignorant, immature and wasteful you are.

A lot of controversy has spurred since the casting choice for the Assassin’s Creed movie (feat. Michael Fassbender for the protagonist for a film set in 25th Century Spain)
Being Spanish myself, I’d like to give my two cents on the topic.
First of all, it’s not white-washing. We are white. We are Europeans. Yes, it’s Southern Europe. Yes, we have darker skin (as Italians, Greeks,… do). And yes, the history of this country is built on so many different cultures and ethnicities, including Roman invasion, and almost two centuries of Al-Andalus have left an Arab trace.
But we’re still white. Much as we might be seen “less” by Northern European countries, we’re still white.
And frankly, calling us “Latinx” is an insult. Not for me, nor for us, but for the real Latinxs.
It’s an insult to History.
You’re quite literally equiparating us with the very same people whose land we conquered. We stole. The people whose blood was spilled, whose culture was burnt to a crisp.
There’s a reason South American countries speak the same language as us. And it’s built on Imperialism, oppression, and so, so many lives taken away. The language was imposed, the Old Gods forbidden. It was an imposition. It was a genocide.
We don’t get to be called the oppressed.
Because we were -are- the oppressors.
Being put in the same place as the very same people we killed is an insult. To History. To truth.
But, most of all, to the real oppressed people.

A report from Chinese Livers says that Emitsun’s postcard handover and talk today at Nagano was a success. They did shorten the approximately 90 minute event to 30 minutes and had extremely rigorous security clearing and checking at the event. But Emitsun was safe.
At the start of the event she thanked fans for worrying about her and said she was sorry for making everyone concerned about her. She chatted and smiled with the 100 lucky fans as they got their postcard from her and all the fans had a gift/letter for her.
Tomorrow’s event at Nagoya will proceed as scheduled. Here’s hoping it is also successful. Faito dayo, Emitsun!!!!

Just a heads up, in the current JP event EX is no longer non-ranking! This means that you no longer need to play E/N/Hard to qualify for a spot in the song rankings, but it also means that it’ll be more tricky for less skilled players to get a good song ranking score, even if their teams are strong.
Try to play the EX or random EX event song at least once during the event!

Love Live! Sunshine!! - Chapter 1 [English Translation]
Decided to translate myself properly since the only English translation available is a translation from a Chinese scanlation which is not very good. Plenty of stuff lost in translation and plenty of nuances changed completely. Anyway, I was contemplating whether to actually follow Aqours considering my complete loss of interest in it but this manga makes me want to give it a go again. It’s pretty damn good. So I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did translating it!
Fun fact: the “Fulfill our dream!” (originally in Japanese as 「叶え！私達の夢―」) is a reference to the final episode of Love Live! Season 2, which is named 「叶え！みんなの夢―」 (which translates to “Fulfill everyone’s dreams!”).
