It's days like this, when you get out of your own way and your own head, that you think anything is possible. Being a photographer in rural anywhere often means being everything but a photographer. Marketing ourselves has never been my strong suit, nor has it ever sat well with me. And maybe having pursued that journalism dream and watching how much it's changed over the past 15 years, and how it all operates, I don't have a strong connection or the appetite like I use to. In a week I leave for Denmark and on to embark on a road trip following the Tour de France for about 10 days with a dear friend. We've got ideas, but we haven't pitched them anywhere. Why? Maybe it'll make money or whatever, but more than likely pitching the idea would detract from the adventure. It would cause pressure, contracts, constraints.
