I JUST SAW A SNEAK PEEK OF THE ACOLYTE

Lemme break it down for you

We start with Amandla Stenberg's character walking into a bar. She's looking for someone in particular, a target maybe or her old master??, Rebecca Henderson's character who is a Jedi Master. Amanda's character quickly resorts to violence and literally starts breaking arms and beating up the people sitting at the table of the Jedi.

Eventually the two women start to fight and Rebecca says the line "Who trained you?" after noticing her attacker was quite knowledgeable in disarming a Jedi. (Which is why I think Amanda's character used to be her Padawan or something) The fight continues and has some REALLY REALLY AWESOME stunts. From this clip and the trailer alone it has Andor energy in its filming style and production.

Later the Jedi Master gets onto her com (which looks dated and just like the ones from the KOTOR games) and says "I have a unidentified force user". Probably not a lot to decifer from this line but from the context, it seems like sith bad guys, or force bad guys at the least, aren't walking around willy knilly getting into fights with Jedi. Yk unlike the Clone Wars. The clip ends with both women running to take stabs at each other. In fact the Jedi never once pulls out her lightsaber. Using only hand to hand combat and the force to fight off her attacker.

There isn't much dialogue in this clip, and in fact I think it has been cut from the sneek peak.

The sneek peak was shown at the end of the 25th Anniversary showing of The Phantom Menace in theaters. So if you need an extra reason to go watch it, there you go

In conclusion I'm SUPER excited about the show and I have high hopes. Even though the clip didn't give us a lot I am so ready to dive deep show

do you think theres a brief period on pabu where omega just. Cries all the time. She cries when she gets up. She cries when shes in town and walks past a house damaged by the imperial invasion. She cries when she gets a glimpse of crosshairs stump. She cries at dinner, because tech should be there. She cries when shes looking for hunter and cant find him.

and she’s doesnt KNOW why shes SO SAD. Everything is okay now! Hemlock is gone! Theyre on pabu! No one is going to take her away again! Echo has promised to look into finding crosshair a prosthetic! Tech has been gone for what feels like ages, why is she suddenly crying about that!

But shes just. So sad that all of it happened. That they took her away from her brothers TWICE. That hemlock was trying to take her away AGAIN. That he hurt her brothers so badly. Why couldnt he just leave them alone???

It helps to just. Curl up close to hunter, under the big tree or overlooking the sea. Let him put his arm around her. She tries to stifle the tears for him, but he just squeezes her and says, its okay to cry, kid. Youve been through a lot. Picks her up and sets her in his lap like a little kid and holds her and strokes her hair until the tears decide to stop. Sometimes wrecker and crosshair will sit nearby, rubbing her back or telling old stories. Sometimes it takes a long time, but hunter swears he doesnt mind. Theyve got the rest of their lives.

Now that Omega is part of the Rebel Alliance I had the most beautiful idea pop into my head:

I’m just imagining her hanging out with her squad post-mission. It was a major success so everyone is in high spirits. In the middle of their debrief/celebration she gets a comm. “Ah, it’s my little brother,” she says, “I have to take this.”

Everyone is very understanding—family is important and they haven’t had much time or really even the security to check-in in recent weeks. She pulls up the holo. Instead of the teenager or young adult they were expecting when she said “little brother”, it’s a fifty-something, one-handed, very clearly ex-soldier with the voice of a chain smoker whose first words are “Finally, you answer your kriffing comm”.

The others watch in awe as the two of them banter back and forth. After 8 separate assurances that she’s doing well, she’ll call him back later so she can talk to Hunter and Wrecker, and that she’ll be safe, he finally hangs up and she’s left with the rest of the squad just staring at her. One of them asks confusedly “Who was that?”

“I told you, it’s my younger brother.” Omega has to explain the dynamics of cloning after that.

artist's notes: these edits were a nightmare to try and convert: tumblr said the clips were too small to covert to gifs, my video editor app won't let me loop gifs, and i ended up with several road bumps while using canva. eventually i got them working though!
