something about wikipedia articles describing a jewish atheist's extensive advocacy against antisemitism in the politics section and then immediately going on to pit their atheism against their jewish identity in the personal life section

In case you've been hearing too much from those "voting doesn't matter" types, I'd like to point out to you that Kansas Republicans recently tried to ban gender-affirming care for minors in the state, and Governor Laura Kelly, a Democrat, vetoed the bill.
Yesterday, Kansas Republicans tried and failed to override her veto, coming up just a couple of votes short.
Every vote matters, especially when it gets us governors to act as bulwarks against gerrymandered legislatures in protecting the most vulnerable in our nation.

PSA: There is no such thing as a "white Jew"
There are Jews who have European backgrounds and *some* of them have benefited from eurocentrism or being white passing, but in moments of crisis or need the social tides that create white privilege have never seen Jewish people as part of that group. Whiteness is a social category which has changed with time and attitudes and, at least for now, it has never and still doesn't include Jewish people.
Continuing to use the term "white Jews" is ignorant at best and harmful at worst. Even converts once converted are othered and can no longer rely on any previous white background to save them if they are identified as Jewish.

ההשוואה של מערביסטים שאכפת להם יותר מידי מהסכסוך לאוהדי כדורגל הרבה יותר טובה מלהשוות את כל העניין לפאנדום אבל טאמבלר לא מוכן לדיון הזה

If Einstein was alive he would leave America now. Why do I assume that? Based on these points:
1. We see Jewish students and professors being denied entry to universities, exactly like Germany in the 1930s. One of the main reasons he left Germany was due to his academic career being affected by these bans on Jews.
2. Left Germany when antisemitism rose. We are now experiencing the biggest surge in antisemitism in America since the holocaust, and as opposed to the 1930s in the US, this time it's led by the mainstream and not fringe political cells.
3. Albert Einstein was a zionist. He supported his people's aspirations to reestablish their homeland in their ancestral land, and donated to the cause. He was even offered the position of the first president of Israel, but refused. He left his library to the Hebrew University after his death, and you can even go over his books in the University if you want, it's still there!
4. Jews are already leaving the American academy, and Israeli academy came out with a statement today that any Jewish person in academy is welcome to join and will receive support in any way needed to fit in and find a similar position. When you're denied education in one place but welcomed at another, you tend to choose those who want you, like the US has welcomed academic refugees from European universities in the 1930s.
I think it's safe to say that he wouldn't be happy with the direction the USA is taking. Just be careful, because last time Jews left a place due to antisemitism, they invented the atomic bomb. When Jewish minds come together, they achieve great things, and you don't want those minds to leave your country...

It cannot be stressed enough that Israel is the ONLY country "Leftists" feel comfortable talking about this way.
There's no support for anti-war and anti-government protests on the ground in Israel (you know, the protests that might actually make a difference)
There's no empathy for or solidarity with civilian victims (only when it comes to Israeli civilians are you going to hear self-described Feminists and Leftists explain why rape is fine, actually)
No understanding of the difference between the state and its' citizens (or even the Jewish people, generally)
Absolutely no desire to actually learn about the history of the region and conflict comprehensively (the expulsion of over 700,000 Palestinians during the Nakba was horrific, and a crime that needs to be addressed. Out of curiosity, what was happening to the 800,000-1,000,000 Jews living in the surrounding Arab nations around then?)
All understanding of complexity and nuance? Of the concerns of minority, queer, disabled, and other vulnerable populations with the country? It's all out the window. It's all just one big Evil Zionist Entity.
This is how even accurate criticisms and condemnations of Israel can end up being antisemitic. You are viewing the Israeli state and the people who live there through a lens that you hold to no other nation-state on Earth. (and then holding random Jews in the diaspora to account for that).
You can do better and still advocate for Palestinian liberation and autonomy. It's actually not that hard.

I am sick to fucking death of these people.
Tumblr media
I am sick of their hivemind, childish chants, I am sick of their desperate need for attention and to feel radikewl, and I am sick of them harassing Jewish people simply for existing. A Jewish person owning a fucking falafel restaurant is not committing genocide. Repeating the same trite chant doesn't suddenly change reality. These people really just decided to revive antisemitic mobs but sprinkled in buzzwords to make them seem progressive.
This is far from the only example of people doing this to Jewish businesses since 10/7, either, this is just what I immediately saw when I opened twitter.

Absolutely astonishing* that students who believe they’re on the front lines of stopping a genocide** are now horrified that they may face academic and criminal consequences as a result of their actions which they really truly believe are crucial to saving the lives of Gazans and definitely aren’t just reactionary juvenile LARPing because social media has eaten their brains from age 4
*Not in any way, shape, or form astonishing in the slightest
**By calling for more October 7ths and burning Tel Aviv to the ground, among other definitely practical and not-at-all antisemitic solutions that aren’t actually more genocidal than the actions they’re protesting
