Basecoat on Goblin Slayer's Goblin done! All the muscles are sculpted Eva, "skinned" with a layer of foam clay from Lumin's Workshop, then coated with some tinted Creature Cast Rubber (dabbed on to get the skin texture effect). Still fully poseable after coating, too! I'm soooo excited to paint some skin tones and face details on, now!

I finally sat myself down and forced myself to learn some modeling for Priestess's Staff! I've had my Rostock for two years now, and in that time I've only modeled some simple attachments for Link and Star Platinum due to how intimidating the learning curve was. I had some time before ECCC, so it seemed like this was the time to do it!

The Goblin (for my Goblin Slayer to destroy) is skinned and ready for seal and paint! This is all Styrofoam/EVA sculpted, then covered with Foam Clay from @luminsworkshop for texture and easier sealing. (Took a tub/300g, for reference).

I'm being a bit extra and making a Goblin for my Goblin Slayer cosplay, largely as an excuse to try the Foam Clay @luminsworkshop sent me. Spread on pretty easily, and felt a lot like silly putty! I'm really looking forward to painting him up, and am working on a poseable body next!

All of Goblin Slayer's armor is about done! Gotta' go through and add the "rivet" details in the foam, then battle damage all the things, then it'll be ready to seal. After that, straps, chainmail, and fabric!

Nothin' too crazy as I chug along on Goblin Slayer's armor, but thought this was a straightforward enough example of how I use undercuts (I'm using the figma mostly as a ref, hence the sharper angles).
I tend to doodle on my template where the bends are in a given shape, cut out the template along those lines, transfer to foam, then just use a rotary tool to make a little trench. Then, hot glue, bend to shape, (optionally freeze with canned air), and you've got a more complex piece without having to cut out separately and reassemble!

Done with Goblin Slayer's main weapon (I made a backup because you never know how a Nest is gonna' go), which means all the props are good to seal!

You've gotta' have a removable faceplate for food breaks at camp, of course!

The Goblin Slayer armory is just about done! This'll be one of the more tedious parts of the build, so I'm glad I'm near the end and close to sealing. Looking forward to tearing through the armor!

You can never be over prepared when clearing a Goblin Nest! I'm hyped for all the different poses when I'm strapped with 20 different props, 😄

Finished up the base for Goblin Slayer's shield last night. Gonna toss some Epsilon coats on here for a smooth finish before attaching the strapping in the inside. Onto some swords, I think!

Had some spare space in the entryway of the new house, so I figured I should get some of my old armor out of Bins to fill it! I've got a 3rd mannequin ready for the other side of the archway for when my next armor set is finished up, too! 😁

"Imprisoned for 10,000 years... Banished from my own Homeland. And now, you dare enter my realm?"
I started playing World of Warcraft in the first week of launch, and I remember the shivers I got when The Burning Crusade trailer dropped. Illidan's speech there is one of the iconic things in gaming that I'll remember for the rest of my days.

The only real photos I got on this run of Illidan were from CelestialCrafts snagging some on her phone before I had to strip everything off. I'm super thankful she spent some time editing them up so I have solid things to show from the experience!

"Now go forth... unleash the tides of Doom!"
Currently the post Blizzcon agenda includes learning some 3d modeling on a prop or two and cleaning the shop (it's chaos, for real), but I was also thinking of posting a little more in-depth detail on how I did different parts of this dang beast of a project in the meantime.
Let me know if there's anything in particular you'd like a bit more info on, and I'll write some stuff on up!

I was not prepared (hah). Only got to wear Illidan for about an hour before all the different uncomfortable bits destroyed me. I *technically* made it to the con (just the outside perimeter), after a lot of nonstop days this last month.
Lessons learned to take into the next build, that's for sure! Prolly gonna' just make a few props and chill on full crazy builds like this for a while, 😅.
