I grew up being made into a mediator, even as a kid trying to break up arguments between adults, and between adults and kids, and it was not appropriate. But because of that, I've always been able to take on the perspectives of other people without totally buying into them myself. This is a concept that a lot of people, frustratingly, can't grasp. That just because I understand doesn't mean that I agree, and just because I don't agree doesn't mean I don't understand. The implication of if I understood someone, I would agree with them totally, is extremely arrogant and self-centered of them.

I am highly educated and very intelligent and so far all the criticism I've gotten for talking about my abuse has been a case of hydrogen bomb vs coughing baby but everyone could be just as smart as I am if they just put in the effort, slowed down and tried even a little bit to understand other people and their perspectives. people just frustrate me ya know... I know so many people could be so much better, in many different ways, than they are.. but y'know not everyone even fucking uses the internet as much as we do, and those who do... just tend to be a certain way. It's just some kind of visibility bias we have.

Trans people in pizza. Where I'm at we get paid $11/hr even though we sell $5.26 by the slice :') Making pizza sure as Hell beats cleaning toilets (my second job that pays more). I could be working one job that pays more than either of them but they harassed me for acting autistic and looking young (because I am trans) while acting older than that, then didn't even bother to fire me properly. Still planning to go back to school and study law. Can't keep us down.
just wanted to say that as a trans person that also works in pizza, much solidarity & love to u <3 i work FOH but our delivery drivers r so essential. thinking of u from so-called "canada
<333 I want to quit so so bad but $12 hourly with tips has been working for me in terms of not having to ebeg month to month, actually having enough to pay forward. solidarity tho bc being trans doing the song and dance with random customers every day really does blow. o7

I needed a small skateboard I could fit in my backpack for emergency transport but had no luck and the plastic ones suck. So fuck it I'm carving my own skateboard now.

I fully understand you have good intentions but I just had concerns about implications from the way that this was framed. There is a tendency in the culture of this site to fire people up emotionally to the point of helplessness and exhaustion, which is counterproductive. I also get the impression that you are probably tired from completely unrelated responses to this post from people completely unrelated to me. That is completely unfair and disrespectful. Maybe your patience, reading comprehension and critical thinking could use some work.
the Columbia University arrests are worse than they seem. They're arresting protesting students for trespassing. It goes without saying students cannot meaningfully "trespass" in the common areas of a university they attend. So Columbia University has suspended all student protestors from their institution, in the process revoking their access to housing, their belonging, and most crucially damaging their academic futures. We are witnessing full scale silencing and removal of anyone of conscience from the next generation of academia.

That might be what they're attempting to do, but before y'all get too domery, It would definitely be of limited effect over the next generation of academia as a whole, when you consider any academics who have already graduated by now. It really only affects students who are within a certain narrow window of time. Not that the effects it has on those students aren't still serious and that the precedent being set isn't still horrific. I just wouldn't be scared just yet that most of our next lineup of professors are going to be Zionists.
