It had been a long day at work when Danny decided to go in Steve’s office and keep him company. He went in but Steve was not there, so he sat on his desk and waited for him.
When Steve entered his office, he saw Danny sat on his desk and sighed in relief.
“I looked for you in your office, but you weren’t there.” Said Steve as he walked closer to Danny.
“Well, I did the same thing and thought it would be smart to wait for you here.” Danny smiled, an easy and open one, which showed how tired the day had made him.
Steve said nothing as he stepped closer between Danny’s legs and hugged him.
Danny was shocked for a moment, but hugged him not even a second after.
“Did something happen?”
“It’s just- I wanted to tell you that- Ugh fuck, why are words so hard?”
It was a rhetorical question, but Danny answered anyway. “I know they are babe, that’s why I rent so much. It helps me think.” Danny moved his right hand from Steve’s shoulder blades to the back of his neck and caressed the hairs there.
Steve mumbled something with his head hidden between the juncture of Danny’s neck and shoulder, and Danny made a mmh sound as a way to tell him he didn’t get a word he said.
Steve then retreaded his head from where it was, but didn’t move any other part of his body, still tangled with Danny’s.
Steve looked into Danny’s blue eyes as he said, “I love you, I hope you know that.”
Danny smiled, cupped Steve’s face with his hands and kissed him, just a press of lips, before he said to Steve’s mouth, “I love you too, even if you are an insane person, maybe even because of that.”
Steve smiled and went back for a real kiss, one filled with teeth and tongues and smiles.
Danny thought as he was kissing Steve - or was Steve kissing him? - that he could get used to this.
