Thoth's knowing smile only deepened my intrigue, his golden eyes glinting with wisdom and understanding. "You're not the only one with secrets, Robin," he said cryptically, his voice low and measured. "The threads of fate weave a complex tapestry, and sometimes they intersect in ways we can't begin to comprehend."
I leaned in, hanging onto his every word, desperate for answers to the questions that had plagued my mind for so long. "What does it mean? This... other me. Is he real?"
Thoth's expression grew solemn as he considered my question, his gaze drifting to the far-off horizon as if searching for insight in the depths of the cosmos. "There are many realms beyond our own, Robin. Worlds upon worlds, each with its own unique inhabitants and destinies. It's possible that this 'other you' exists in one of those realms, living a life parallel to your own."
"But why reach out to me now? And how?" I pressed, my mind swirling with possibilities.
Thoth shrugged, his wings rustling softly against his back. "The ways of the multiverse are as mysterious as they are vast. Perhaps there is a reason this other version of you has chosen to make contact now, in your time of need. As for how... well, that remains a mystery."
I sighed, feeling both intrigued and overwhelmed by the implications of Thoth's words. The idea of another version of me, existing in a different reality, was both fascinating and unsettling. But deep down, I couldn't shake the feeling that there was more to this story than met the eye.
"Thank you, Thoth," I said softly.
Thoth gave a small nod, his gaze filled with a quiet understanding. "Remember, Robin, the journey to self-discovery is often fraught with twists and turns. Trust in your instincts, and you will find your way."
With those words of wisdom lingering in the air, Thoth rose from his seat and made his way towards the door, leaving me alone once more with my thoughts and the tantalizing mystery of the other you from another world. As I pondered the implications of this newfound revelation, I couldn't help but wonder what other secrets the universe held, waiting to be uncovered.

I sat on Asher's tailgate. It had started to snow again. My feet swung back and forth and my tail brushed the paint of the tailgate. I had a bruise forming on the back of my leg where I got kicked. Heller took the brunt of the questioning for me.
The tailgate moved and I glanced beside me, there sat Specter. You did good kid, truly. You really let your power flow, instead of holding back.
"It doesn't feel right... I...."
Felt like a true demigod? I know. Feels nice. He smirked. Now you know how Cobalt feels
I didn't say anything as he vanished. I wrapped myself up and closed my eyes. I was expecting phone calls from either mom or Colette, hell even Seth or Anubis. My phone stay silent.
This was my awakening, the power I felt, allowing myself to use so much magic in such little time, it did feel good. Is that what Colette felt like when she was having fun, fighting whatever monster she was fighting?
That's when my phone finally blew up. First it was Seth, congratulating me on doing such a fine job. Then it was Jasper saying he wished he could've been there, but he was out of state on a railroad call.
Helios of all people texted me next. He was asking how his brother was? Zack was taken away by Cobalt for questioning as they got done cleaning the place of vampires. I didn't reply just yet, I just sat there and watched the moon raise above the mountains of Boone, NC.
I didn't know I drifted asleep until I woke up to the dry air of my Underworld room. I sat up and checked my phone again, my mom texted me finally.
[Cobalt visited, you were foolish, but I am glad you're ok and had it handled... Love you, Robin.] I heard from the hall footsteps, and my door open. Thoth walked in with a cup of water and some food a cook quickly scrambled up.
"Hell of a week right?" He set the tray down. Before he left I asked him.
"Thoth... close the door and come here, I want to talk about something...well someone." The bird god paused and stepped back closing the door and walked to the bed, taking a seat.
"There's been...a voice... A person, just like me. Claims to be me from another world...I know it sounds crazy, but-" He put a claw over my mouth.
He gave a soft smile and sighs. "Happened when you got blasted those years ago?"
"How did you..."
He smirked again.

Getting to the front I heard loud yelps and yells. I turned back, Cobalt, Asher, and Heller were stopped a few feet behind me. Cobalt banged on a invisible force field. "Damn it!"
I ran back. I could easily slip past. "Must be for vampires only, that must be why the beat cops haven't gone in." I slipped back through.
"Robin no!" Asher and Cobalt protested.
Ignoring them I held my pawhnad out. "Heller hand me your rifle." The werecat protested but slipped the rifle off his shoulder and handed it to me. Checking the chamber I ran back towards the door. A fire burned in my soul. I channeled a blast of lightning magic and blasted the door off the hinges.
The halls were well lit, blood covered a few spots on the walls. It made my stomach twist into a knot as I kept walking. I could hear moans and laughter.
I stopped at a door and glanced in. One vampire, just finished her meal.
Can you kill? I ignore Specter and stepped into the door frame, aiming the rifle and took her leg out. She hiss and screamed. I shot a bolt of lightning at her, knocking her out.
I moved on. One monster down. I barely got further when I was tripped. I heard a shotgun rack and pointed at my face. I growled and kicked, hitting the butt of the gun and teleported behind him, hitting him the back of his head with the rifle butt.
As I past I sent a bolt through him. Specter watched, unknown to me he was smirking. I slowly made my way to the cafe and pushed the doors open.
"Fuck." I was out numbered. I was kicked on the back of my knees causing me to collapse, the rifle taken from me, leaving my pistol in my pocket.
"Look who came back." I knew that voice. I knew that fucking voice! I locked eyes on the person.
"Zack!" Zackariah Wingfeather, or just Zack. He was Ra's right-hand gryphon. Gryphon and phoenix hybrid, he can't die and we all thought he took the hint he wasn't going to win. "I should've know it was someone who knew what I was."
Zack walked over and cupped my chin. I spat in his face, making him slap me. "You could've joined Ra. We could've gave you so much. All the power you could've wanted. Yet you stuck with that dirty jackal and his brother."
"Why team up with vampires?" I stared right into his eyes.
"Easy to control, simple minded monsters." He snapped and I was lifted up by my arms and dragged over to a table. I struggled and growled, baring my fangs. I was tossed up and held down by a spell.
Specter was above in the rafter, a finger over his mouth. He hopped across the beams and landed softly behind Zack. He spun his staff while spawning it and gave that birdbrain a good smack. It caused a good bit of confused allowing me to break the holding spell. I grabbed the vampire who had the AK and choked him out with the sling.
Specter vanished and I quickly drew the pistol from my pocket placing a few shots into some of the vampires. The school would never be the same again, I knew that... hated it. I unslung the rifle and walked over to Zack, putting my weight on his chest. He had shifted to his actual gryphon form, a slobbering monster of pure rage. "Disgusting."
"Who was that!? How did you do that!?" I shut him up with a blast of lightning and slung the rifle over my back. I made my way to the door and flipped the lights off. Saving a school in such short notice? I could never imagine what the others would think?
I took a deep breath and glanced back. Cobalt would hand Zack to Anubis. The force field must've been kept up by Zack cause Cobalt and company came rushing in. I was hugged tightly by Cobalt. I closed my eyes...just wanting to rest and forget this ever happened.
Asher glanced in the room and shook his head. I didn't know what he was thinking, but I don't think I would've liked it.

"You know," Asher started. "You could've told us." He holstered his gun and produced another pistol from his pocket. He tossed it to me. Catching it I chambered a round and caught a spare magazine he threw.
"Told you what? I only found out a few days ago." I looked over at the barely breathing vampire.
"Oh great...Werewolves are real, I though-" Asher kicked him in the face.
"Shut up."
I stared at him a moment. He was upset, angry even and that was terrifying to see coming from Asher. I glanced out the door, seeing Cobalt peak his head.
"We wait any longer there won't be a single human to save." Asher nodded and started towards the door, followed by me. Climbing into his truck, I was squished between him and Cobalt...got to love single cab OBS Fords....
"Was he the leader?" Cobalt started.
"I can only guess, honestly. He confronted me after you and me took out the two in town." Getting back to the school, it was already a mess and it looked like cops were called, they couldn't face vampires...We needed...Heller!?
Standing off to the side was a familiar face. He had a rig and unlike a few of the other cops he carried an AK-47. "Who told Heller?"
"I did." Asher finally spoke again. Taking after those two I shift back and climbed from the truck. Heller walked over. He normally worked for SIN, so now I wondered if SIN knew this was happening.
"Glad to see you're still together, Robin." He pats my head. Heller was a werecat, no magical abilities, but damn he was a good cop and investigator. "So it is vampires?"
"So vampire cult? I don't know how many...I just found a few days ago. These cops can't face them, I know that."
You four can I whipped my head around. About time he showed up, he was sitting on the hood of the truck, eating an apple. You three have magic and Heller there is a pretty good shot
Specter wasn't wrong. I drew the pistol and nodded. "It has to be us. No one else can enter, to much of a liability." I took a step towards the door. "Stay shifted, so we won't have any friendly fire. I don't care who sees us."
The sound of four werecreaters was LOUD.

"The gods aren't real! Magic is a myth made by people who can only DREAM of wanting to do magic. The only real thing here is how I am going to rip you limb from limb seeing if I can't force you to change." He pushed the chair down making he yelp in pain. I mumbled something about getting caught like the character from Far Cry 5.
He slowly stepped around into view again, his fangs elongated, his fingernails purple, he truly was a monster. "Your blood line is-"
"A mess? I know." I caught my breath and smirked up at him. "My mom was a vampire witch, like my grandmother and my father is the fucking god Seth, tell me something I don't know."
"You're lying and you're not good at it." He snarled.
I had mumbled a spell to loosen my hands. The freedom allowed me to get my hand ready to spawn my staff. I closed my eyes and when they opened they were red. "I'm no werewolf that's for sure." I kicked my legs, finding purchase on a chip in the floor and kicked myself out of the chair.
Flipping over the chair I land on my knee and looked up. The bright green fire erupted under me, traveling up my body slowly turning red as it did. I used my staff to push myself up as I was now shifted. I gripped my staff with both pawhands and swung it like a baseball bat, hitting home. I know I knocked a fang out of his skull.
"True, I am all of that, but I didn't take up being so...chaotic like him. Though I do love cracking a joke, like I cracked your fucking skull." I pinned him to the floor with my magic and stepped on his side. I felt the anger build in my body as I looked down at him, he was crying, bleeding.
"What did we learn today?"
"You're a monster." He coughed. "You can't beat us all, the school is already..." He smirked as I stepped harder, putting my full weight on him.
"You won't see the daylight."
I spun my staff and despawned it as I heard the warehouse door open. Standing there was a large black and white werewolf, a pistol in his pawhand. "Asher?"

I needed coffee...or something. That nightmare really took it out of me last night. I sat on my bed rubbing my arms and stretched out. "Fuuuuck." I blinked and stood up cracking my back. I got dressed and stepped out into the hall, only to get pushed back into my dorm room.
"What the hell are you?" I barely had time to realize it was that 'leader' of those vampires. I stood straight and glared at him, my green eyes dug into his fake blue ones. "You're no normal vampire that's for sure."
"I am just as no-"
"You knocked two of my lackeys out, and they claimed you shifted into a werewolf? You're no vampire."
Shit shit...Specter...anytime now... My eyes darted around my room. My gun was on the door behind him. My staff was always on my person though. Seth had taught me how to soulbind it. So I could always spawn it. Doing magic in the open though?
Well, I didn't have time to think about that as I was knocked out cold. I didn't know how much time passed. I woke up tied up to a chair. Now this seemed like the part in a book where the bad guy is questioned...
Am I the bad guy?
I could hear laughing around me. "Robin Davidson. Your mother and grandmother were a vampire, correct. Your blood line is...old, not as old as some of us. I also heard your grandmother was a 'magic' user." I struggled in my binds, they didn't cover my eyes thank the gods.
I felt two cold hands rest on my shoulder. "We can be so much, if you do whatever you did in front of those two dumbasses. Go on, transform. OR do you need a full moon, well guess what...today is the 25th."
He was right, tonight was a full moon, to bad I don't follow that rule. Jasper and Asher do, not me or Cobalt. I sat there, and started to laugh. "Holy shit, you don't believe in that shit do you? Don't you know werewolves aren't monsters?"
"So they are real?"
"As real as the Egyptian gods." I was cracking up. I felt the hands dig into my shoulders, sharp claw-like nails drawing blood. Where is Specter...where is actual help... I sighed. This guy was going to ruin everything. He was going to hurt people... More people.
"Why hide it all, why be such a thorn already? We can-"
"Shut up Ra."
"What?"
"You sound like my damn Uncle you ass."

I woke up to a loud bang coming from a room down the hall. Thanks vampire/werejackal hearing. I was enjoying that dream... I sat up and about tripped over myself, literally.
"Specter!" The fellow jackal snickered and pointed towards the door.
It's only been going on for 15 minutes
I stood up and peaked my door out. I screamed and slammed the door shut. My heart was racing. I gripped my chest and felt my form change. Defense mechanism. I had to get that under control. I shook my head and shifted back.
"So many people! What the fuck. They are striking that soon!?" I opened my desk and dug my revolver out. I grabbed my holster from the door and slipped it over my shoulders. "Fucking...fuck..."
A knock. Specter even shrunk in fear. If you die...No...if we die!
I aimed at the door. Finger resting on the trigger. I jerked away and gasped. I banged my head on the head rest and curled up. "Fucking nightmares!" Specter was there, I felt his pawhand rub my back.
Perks of being a demigod. Very vivid nightmares and dreams

The night finished without much worry. The police came and I was long gone. I had made it back to my dorm, Specter standing outside biting into an apple.
You acted to slowly, better be glad Cobalt came to save you.
I ignored him and opened the door. Inside was Cobalt, kicking back on my bed. "Hi..." I flip the lights on and crossed my arms. Cobalt didn't even give me a look as he flipped through a book.
"This is college? Booooring." He rolled his eyes and sat up. I left him with a glare as Specter peeked in. I sat in my computer chair and just stared at him. "What?"
"You never liked me, Cobalt." I finally said. Cobalt froze at that statement. He was caught off guard for sure. "You wished Anubis never took me-"
"Fucking hell, Robin. I can't keep this up. I know we never seen eye to eye, but you're my cousin!" He threw his arms up. "I can't keep living like I do. Not with Anubis being the way he is now. Colette...colette kept up together, as some strange chaotic family."
I felt my heart still, for a moment as I looked into his eyes. He was worried about something more then Anubis and the others. He stood up and walked to the window looking out across Boone.
"Whatever you're trying to do...be careful. Please." I've already lost dad I think.... He vanishes quickly.

I had taken a day out on the town. Night life in Boone was...busy, for a lack of a better word. Nothing like Asheville for sure. I could hear laughter, the sound of life. I adjusted my outfit, a Tarkov shirt, blue jeans, running shoes and my duster. Hidden by it was my shoulder holster where I kept a Colt Python in good ol' .357.
I hadn't seen Specter all day, which kind of worried me. I pushed the thought aside as I walked past the shops on main street. A few people waved and asked how I was. I nodded and gave a 'good' as a reply.
I didn't get far when I froze.
"She was such a good meal." I ducked behind a wall, glancing around it. One of those vampires. I could tell without even looking at their eyes, the aura gave of a deathly aura. I wondered if mine felt like that? My eyes were only red when I was shifted.
I saw her, a poor lady maybe in her mid 20s, under their trance. It made me very unconformable.
What's you plan hotshot?
I went to draw, but stopped before I had my hand on the gun, Specter finally appeared. He leaned on the wall inside the alley, they couldn't see him.
Kill them and it'll be their blood on your hands, stand there and you'll be no better then them.
I gritted my teeth. He was egging me on. I knew, I wasn't going to-
I stepped around the corner and held my arm straight to my side. With barely any effort I summoned my staff to my hand as the light of the fire surrounded my feet. It caused the two monsters to turned.
"What the fu-" I didn't feel anymore fear as my body was engulfed in a fire that went from green to red. They drew guns from their waists, I swiped my staff across in front of me and the guns jammed instantly.
"Fucking vampires!" I yelled and using my free now pawhand I charged a ball of lightning. Thrusting my hand out the lightning leaped across the air and slammed into the one vampire on the right. He was knocked out instantly. The other one had cleared his pistol and went to fire when I heard a loud thwack.
I lowered my staff, the other vampire was knocked out too and standing behind him was a very familiar face.
Cobalt kicked the guns away, he glanced over. "What's up, cousin?" He walked over to me. I stood slightly taller then him. He looked me over. "Trying to be a hero? Need to do better." I could hear Specter growling behind me.
"You gave them to much time, can't play with your 'food' like that." It was a pun I could tell. He seemed better then last time I saw him. Cobalt wasn't always the nicest and we both knew that, but since Anubis got on his depression streak he's come around. A black jackal, much like his father with green and golden eyes. He didn't wear amour like I had taken up in my jackal form.
I despawned my staff and crossed my arms. "Stalking me?"
"Not exactly, Robin. I want to just check on you. I see you've got a lot on your plate now." He gave a cheeky smile and in a flash teleported away.

Specter appeared again when Seth left. I sat at my desk and tossed the empty can he left away.
Your dad is proud of you. He walked around the chair and sat on the window seal. He glanced out the window, he honestly seemed so real sometimes, but he was just in my head...right?
Right?
"So vampires are here in Boone, guess they couldn't handle a few werewolves." I smirked spinning in my chair.
Back home Asheville called three very strong werewolves home. Jasper Ashwolf, the last of a family of werewolves who were descendants of the very first werewolf. Old grumpy person, nice though.
Asher Valkyrie, the Asheville incubus; also a werewolf. Unlike the Ashwolf family he can use fire magic, which is VERY rare for werewolves. He's part of the family, Cobalt's son.
Shirou Ashwolf, the oldest werewolf. 145 years old now. Doesn't look a day over 50. Jasper's grandfather. He was named Jonathan years ago, apparently all male Ashwolfs have name starting with 'J'.
You're crazy if you think you can handle a group of vampires. Specter broke me from my day dream.
"Oh like I haven't fought a bunch of magical creatures before."
You hadn't. You got hurt during the war. I looked down at my arm, a scar resembling a lightning bolt went from my wrist up a little past my elbow. I ran my fingers across it. It didn't hurt, not one bit, but it was scary. That's when I first starting to see Specter...I think.

Fucking creepy. I kept walking towards the cafe. Specter followed, arms crossed.
You could've taken them
"And get kicked out and thrown in jail." I opened the door to the cafe and grumbled more. It was packed! "Whelped, there's go that idea."
You need to drink.
Specter had a point, maybe I should head back to my dorm and enjoy an easy break. I turned. Opening the door to my dorm I was almost floored. "Dad!?" There sitting in my computer chair, sipping a soda he had stolen from my little fridge was the Egyptian god of thunder, lightning and chaos; Seth.
"Got bored, thought I'd check on ya, son." He set the can down and next thing I knew was he was hugging me. I shifted and hugged back. Now unlike what you may know about Egyptian gods, Seth was more lycan/jackal hybrid then what we see in books. He was a good dad, I thought so.
I didn't know at the time but my own tail was wagging. "Hi dad," I said softly and pushed off of him. He looked me up and down, bright crimson eyes, but under them was a soft caring god. He had been here before, he knew the place enough.
I walked past him and dug under my bed pulling a bottle of hemo-hero out from under it. I shifted back and popped it open, drinking from the bottle.
"How's everything? Car running ok? I know you bough a new motor." He tapping his paw on the floor.
"Yea, everything is fine."
You're lying
"Just enjoying school. I got a test in a few days." I threw the bottle away. Seth tilted his head and nodded.
"Just want to keep up with you son. You know Helios asked about you." Helios, the winged worrier. A Gryphon who didn't leave when Ra called back the Gryphons he lent Anubis. He was young like me, caring too. He helped save Colette and myself when I became a werejackal.
You really should take a break and head home. Homesickness isn't something to mess with
"I'll come by soon," I reassured Seth.

Class was as boring as you think. I was studying to be a Private investigator, kind of like Colette who was a free agent and did work for SIN
Supernatural Investigation Network
The only reason I know about it is cause of Colette and the run ins the group had with them when I stayed in Asheville. I had worked my first case as a PI a year ago, a nice old lady who had ghosts living in her house.
I got them to leave and finally rest for the rest of time. Snow had started to fall outside, apparently Boone gets more snow then Asheville. With class over I needed something to eat, something to take my mind off everything.
Depression is a fickle thing, I think. You never want to see a god depressed.
Still thinking about it? My eyes drifted to the wall, seeing...
"I am going to call you Specter." He raised a brow.
I am you
"I know." I walked past him. No one else could see him from my understanding. He pushed himself from the wall and followed
Maybe you should head home for a day
"I've got a big test in a few days. I can't just leave." I glanced behind myself. Specter was gone and now in front of me again, sitting on some stairs.
Before I could speak again, I felt an aura. A shiver ran up my spine. Three people walked down the stairs Specter was sitting on, walking though him. He crossed his arms and rolled his eyes.
"So anyways the girl thought she could resist my ol' charm." The one I was guessing was kind of the main guy was saying to the other too.
"Vampires." I said to myself and Specter nodded. They stopped and looked at me.
"Ahh the fresh blood." That was creep as fuck. I steeled myself and checked just to make sure I had my staff. I had finally learned how to summon it. He took a step towards me. He stood slightly taller then me with pale skin and unsettling crimson eyes he passed off as contacts. He wore modern day clothing, I was going to guess he was the same age as me.
"Born or bitten?" I raised a brow at the question. Most of the time that was something you'd ask a werewolf. He was right in front of me now, flanked by the other two vampires. "Didn't think some low life would still be alive, where do you get your blood?"
That's the thing, I have never tasted actual blood. Hemo-hero, a blood substitute that Colette ships to me weekly. I could drink it in my jackal form. Something was strange about that, I didn't get the hunger in that form, a saving grace sometimes.
"Kind of rude not to introduce yourself." I finally said, Specter standing behind him mocking him.
"A vampire of such blood line does not have to introduce himself first. As a young blood you should know that." Well I didn't, I grew up around werewolves and gods, not other vampires.
Thankfully.
"I don't care about whatever system there is." I pushed by them and started down the hall. Specter glared at them, even if they couldn't see them.

My dorm room, I was lucky enough to get one by myself. A full size bed, small kitchen with a hot plate and microwave with a desk I sat my PC on. I had to keep up with Asher and Jasper back in Asheville on video games. They always accept a third man in raids or squads.
I hung a photo up above my monitor. A family picture, well a group photo...
It was both to me
Jasper, Asher, Cinder, Anubis, Colette, Seth and me. Never thought I'd see old Jasper smile. I held the picture frame in my hands, Colette and Anubis looked so happy...
Five years ago, after the fight with Ra, Colette left. I'm not mad at her, or Anubis. My mom and who I thought was my dad broke up when I was 10. It still hurt though, Colette cared for me. I still talk to her, we still have a group chat, but Cobalt; Anubis' own son, and Anubis himself left the chat.
I set the photo down on my desk and glanced at my phone. "Class." I said to the empty room and got up, gathered my things and started towards the door.
You can't study if your heart is so heavy
I turned my head back towards my bed. Sitting there was a jackal, much like my own jackal form, in fact it was myself. From my understanding it was a side effect of different things. He wasn't evil, but not good neither? He did leave good advice though, so he was good in my books.
"I just can't let it go, you know that." I said to the jackal. His red eyes scanning my up and down.
I do, cause I am you, kid. He said. I looked away and pushed open the door into the dorm hall.
"Another day."
