Nora: Come on, Pyrrha! Commit just one crime!
Pyrrha: No! I can’t do it! 😫
Nora: For your mental health!
Pyrrha: …can I pick the crime? Maybe I could take two free samples instead of just one? 🥺
Nora: Try a little bigger!
Pyrrha: 🤔

Lisa Lavender: World finance markets were thrown into chaos today when servers storing a variety of student loan, credit card, and medical debt data were wiped out!
Lisa Lavender: The cause of the large-scale data loss remains unclear, but investigators found evidence of a simultaneous high-voltage surge and a spontaneous magnetic field which wiped all debt data clear and destroyed backups.
Lisa Lavender: Finance firms in all kingdoms are requesting aid in retrieving the missing data, but few citizens have come forward to provide details on their own debts.
Lisa Lavender: Intelligence organizations are investigating whether this represents an act of terror, but so far no organization has claimed responsibility.
Pyrrha: *turns off tv* 😰
Nora: *reading mail* I don’t know who “Sienna Khan” is, but she’s asking if we want a job with her!

i love how out of the three locked tomb books the most reliable narrator is nona because she can read what everyone actually means from their body language and states her thoughts plainly. the only thing is she has no fucking clue what’s going on

When I was a kid my family pretended to get raptured so I would think I was left behind on earth while they all went to heaven.
I was like 8 years old and my sister and mom had gotten really into the Left Behind novels (bible fan fic about the rapture). In the books when the rapture happened the clothes that people were wearing when they got raptured were left behind in neatly folded piles.
One day when I was getting home from school my family decided that they would leave piles of neatly folded clothes around the house, and then hide in the basement.
The intended effect was that I would get home and see the clothes then, think that my family had been raptured and that I wasn’t good enough to get into heaven… or something?
The problem was that I had never read these books, and didn’t really think about the rapture very often. There was no reason that I would see some laundry on the floor and think “The rapture happened and I’ve been abandoned by God! I’ll never see my family again!! Oh nooo!!!!”
I just sat down and watched cartoons and eventually my family got bored and revealed that they were all hiding in the basement.
It’s a good thing I didn’t understand the joke, otherwise that shit would have been traumatic.

Another dream comic. Had a dream where I was tied to a chair in a dark room and some hooded figures killed me after I begged for my life—but then I got caught in a time loop and so I kept trying to figure out what I could say to get them to not shoot me but they killed me no matter what I said. Started just shouting random stuff eventually.

Right so if you come to Diamond City from the path that goes through Cambridge instead of the Commons, you will almost certainly encounter a gunfight between a group of Super-Mutants and DC Security, and you might actually decide to get involved (this doesn't actually improve your standing in the city, but I am a Minuteman, dammit, and reenacting the battle that put the Minutemen on the map the first time is part of who I am).
Which makes the fact you encounter Piper locked out of Diamond City almost immediately after so much more... important? Sure. Piper's basically there in all of the important main story stuff you do in Diamond City (and the fact Piper just happens to be antagonising Geneva when you're there for Kellogg's key, and then just happens to be trying to break into McDonough's office when you go to confront him both crack me up).
But like. McDonough specifically locked Piper out so she'd be eaten by Super-Mutants. The fact that a) Piper doesn't really seem to mind it much beyond the "oh you asshole let me in that's my city my sister needs me" thing (as opposed to literally pissing her pants and hoping DC Security doesn't get overwhelmed and put her between the Super-Mutants and the "impenetrable" walls of Diamond City), the fact she doesn't seem to hold it up against Dan Sullivan all that much, and the fact it doesn't even get into the list of problems she has with McDonough are so funny? And I'm not even sure if it's just Bethesda Writing in action because that does seem really in character for who Piper really is?
On another note, I wonder why she wasn't in the gunfight. Sure, she's an investigative journalist/yellow presswriter and she's armed with a 10mm but like. That's a gunfight with Super-Mutants (the biggest threat that DC faces on a regular basis).

Right so the Commonwealth's in the shitter and has yet to develop an organised government because the Institute actively stopped them once and has been tacitly sabotaging every attempt ever since. New California had a government but it's in the shitter now and has yet to redevelop an organised government because Hank (arguably, Vault-Tec doctrine) fucked them up by nuking the capital, decapitating the government, and putting all of Boneyard in total blackout.
But why the fuck is the Pitt the closest thing to centralised government there is in the Capital Wasteland? The Enclave only relocated there relatively-ish recently, and yet they're even more fucked than Boston!
