iVisit.... Family Fun Day At Coogee Beach
The 2018 Coogee Family Fun Day will be held on Saturday December 1st at Goldstein Reserve Coogee Beach from 9am to 6pm – Free entry!
The Fun Day will feature a large selection of food and artisan stalls – great for early Christmas shopping – lots of fun rides for the children and the main event on the big stage will be the “Captain Barnacles Show” – of the popular Octonauts TV fame.
With the sun shining and a soft sea breeze, the Coogee Family Fun day is idyllic, beautiful Coogee at its absolute best. This year there will be interactive games and activities for kids of all ages (big kids, too!), live music and entertainment. And of course, a visit from Santa!
In its 24th year, the Coogee Family Fun Day has proudly raised more than $125,000 for local charities This year we are supporting Prince of Wales Hospital Foundation Randwick.

For a truly unique horse riding experience, enjoy a day of horse riding through spectacular scenery and indulge in a gourmet lunch with wine and cheese tasting on the popular Gourmet Picnic Rides.
Meet your friendly horse riding guides and get acquainted with your fellow riders at the Glenworth Valley homestead before setting out on horseback to enjoy one of the Valley’s most scenic trails on your way to the spectacular picnic lunch spot. You’ll enjoy a delicious gourmet lunch by the banks of Popran Creek, before riding back to the homestead to wind down and indulge in wine and cheese tasting.
The Gourmet Picnic Ride is suitable for riders of all abilities from nervous first timer and beginner riders to very experienced riders. With 200 horses for riding, horses are individually assigned to each rider to ensure that riders of all ages and abilities are matched with a horse to suit their needs. Individual instruction is given to all riders prior to departure and throughout the ride.
This ride is a great day out for individuals, couples, small or larger groups and is a great way to meet new and like-minded people who enjoy horse riding and the outdoors.

First held in 1823, the Show is Australia's largest annual ticketed event, attracting over 850,000 attendees on average.  Revenue generated by it allows the RAS to invest in agricultural programs, competitions, education, youth and rural NSW.
In all, the RAS invests almost $7 million annually in these activities which are designed to promote agricultural excellence and keep our rural communities strong. The Sydney Royal Easter Show is a celebration of Australian culture, from our rural traditions to our modern day lifestyles, providing unique experiences for everyone. 
Every Easter, the country and city join together at Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, for fourteen days of agricultural competitions, animal experiences, live entertainment, carnival fun, shopping and much more.

More than 5,000 paddlers will churn up the water as thousands of spectators line the banks of Cockle Bay to watch the spectacular 12 metre long Dragon Boats battle it out.
Originating in the rivers of Southern China as a way to encourage prosperous rains, today Dragon Boat racing has evolved into a fast-paced water sport.  Feel your heart race in time with the onboard drummers, and marvel at fierce dragons slicing through the water. Arrive early on Saturday morning to experience a traditional Taoist Eye Dotting Ceremony to ensure a safe weekend of racing.
See the huge inflatable St.George Happy Dragon floating in the harbour as you cheer on the paddlers.

This summer, for a cool change, hit The Beach – a joyous monochromatic installation of 1.1 million recyclable polyethylene balls that make an ocean without sharks, gently lapping against a 60-metre wide shoreline free of sand. Come and take a dip.
A quintessential Australian experience is reimagined by Snarkitecture, a New York-based art and architecture collaborative practice.
Take a dip or bliss out in a beach chair and literally submerge yourself in art. Whether you’re young or just young-at-heart, the best alternative beach ever created in Australia is guaranteed to put a smile on your dial.
There are three different way you can experience The Beach. Everyone will get free access between 10am and 5pm, but if you wish to avoid the lines and guarantee your spot, then perhaps try one of the ticketed sessions. Each morning we have an all-ages ticket session from 9am-10am. Tickets are only valid for stated session time. For those that wish to experience The Beach at night without the kids, then grab a ticket to the 18+ only sessions on Friday and Saturday evenings. These sessions have a limited duration of 90 minutes.

Flickerfest began as a small local festival at the Balmain High School in 1991. Since then it has grown to become Australia’s leading Academy® accredited & BAFTA recognised competitive Australian & International Short Film Festival with 1000’s of entries coming from filmmakers across the globe.
Flickerfest is considered in international circles as the leading Australian competitive short film festival and increasingly filmmakers view it as one of the main festivals on the world circuit. To maintain this high standard each year the festival director visits festivals around the world seeking new films most of which have not been seen in Australia.
In 2003 the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science elected to recognise Flickerfest as a qualifying festival for the Best Short Film and Best Animation categories of the Academy® Awards. In 2010, Flickerfest was also recognised by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), making films from the UK that won at Flickerfest, eligible for a BAFTA nomination. In 2013 the Australian competition also received Academy®accreditation, & in 2014 the Documentary competition also received Academy® accreditation. 
The honour of Academy® Award accreditation will guarantee Flickerfest’s international profile for many years to come, whilst also ensuring greater opportunities for the Australian short film makers internationally.
Flickerfest national tour has become a very important part of the festival and started in 1995. The tour takes the main competitive programmes and some special sessions to many regional and metropolitan areas, which rarely have an opportunity to view this collection of the best of the Australian & the world’s short films; Flickerfest will present films at 50+ venues Australia-wide. Flickerfest is acknowledged as a quality arts event. They are proud that each year they screen the most innovative creative and inspiring short films the world has to offer, all united by their excellence in the short film genre.

Woolworths Carols in the Domain is Australia's largest free Christmas concert, held in the Domain, Sydney and screening live across Australia on The Seven Network.
In 2016 they are celebrate the theme of 'Christmas Traditions'. Carols itself is a time-honoured tradition for families across Australia who sing-along to Australia's best-loved performers and favourite Christmas songs.
Now, in its 34th year, the iconic Christmas celebration will start a new tradition - for the first time ever the show will take place on a Sunday!
