Excited to be putting on this Mess Esque (AUS) show next week with Home Alone and Strange News Touring friends. Will also be doing a joint Timothy Blackman and Tessa de Lyon set to open things up, performing news songs.
Has been fun doing shows with new songs through parts of 2022 and 2023. I play electric guitar these days, which has been a exciting change. Hope to do more of this in 2024!
Just a quick note to say thanks to everyone who came out to the show’s around the time Brightest Days was released (mid-2019/early-2020).
Before I forget, there are still some cassettes for Brightest Days stocked at Flying Out in Auckland https://flyingout.co.nz/collections/all/products/timothy-blackman-brightest-days-cassette.
This photo was taken (thanks to Ben @ therevue.ca) from the final show I did (with Brooke Singer on keys/backing vocals) last year before New Zealand went into lockdown for Covid (7 March 2020), supporting Hand Habits at a small house venue/space in Wellington. I look forward to getting back in to performing again soon.
Since then I have been working on some new songs with Kate Uhe from City Oh Sigh, put down some violin on the new Lake South album (to be released later this year) and have been playing violin/doing backing vocals for another local band, which has all been super fun.
Will post upcoming shows (on the shows page above) and also information on recording, hopefully not too far from now.
My new album ‘Brightest Days’ is now out on Home Alone Music. Thanks so much to my friends for helping me make this, especially Brooke Singer (of French for Rabbits) who recorded, mixed and performed (and sung) on the record. Lucy Botting (of Girlboss) also did some great vocals and Al Green (of Groni) mastered it. Super appreciate. I could not have done this on my own.
You can listen to the album here https://song.link/brightestdays

Hello! Forgot to say.. check out the new album by City Oh Sigh on Home Alone Music. I feature as a singer on the songs Cotton Cocoon and Let it Roar. Also, French for Rabbits have just put out a new 7'' single for Goat on Lefse Records (US). Listen carefully and you maybe can hear me singing on that one too..
Thanks to Dan Trevarthen for making this great podcast with myself, Stelth Ulvang and Shenandoah Davis in January!
