all these "my friends are antis" posts
it for real breaks my heart seeing all these posts like "all my friends are antis and i can't talk about anything i like with them, i'm so scared they'll find out i like [x media]" and so forth, because i know it's mostly younger people who are heavily dependent upon those social groups, or just don't realize they can break away from bad friendships and it doesn't make them a bad person or selfish.
i just want to grab you all and hug you and tell you that you're valuable, worthwhile, beautiful, perfect the way you are and oh by the way babygirls you are in for a treat: allow me to introduce you to cutting shitty people off. no drama, no explanation, no justification. straight up gone. excise those rotten people from your life like tumors.
you may think of them as friends but if you examine the relationship closely, you will realize that they are slowly killing you from the inside, taking up vital energy and time you could be using for healthy supportive friendships. it may seem scary to cut people off and you may be afraid of being alone, but you won't be. you will find people who love you for who you are.
here's the crux of the issue:
YOU ONLY GET ONE LIFE. THAT'S IT. WE GET TO DO THIS ONCE. DO NOT WASTE YOURS ON PEOPLE WHO DO NOT UNCONDITIONALLY LOVE AND SUPPORT YOU.
i promise there is nothing as freeing and self-actualizing as that moment of epiphany when you realize you don't have to put up with assholes. you just don't have to. it's like living in a prison your whole life and then realizing the door was never locked.
bad friends? people who stifle and judge you? people who enforce arbitrary social 'rules' and use ridicule/emotional abuse/ostracism as weapons to control you? cut. them. the. fuck. off. you will be a happier healthier person, and the only thing you'll regret is that you didn't do it sooner.

I love how whenever ATLA recognizes Sokka is smart enough to solve a problem but it’d be too fast they just stick him in some kind of situation. Like he COULD’VE stopped jet from drowning a town so they tied him up and dumped him in a forest. He COULD’VE figured out what that spirits deal was so they lost him in the spirit world for 24 hours.
