Essentials to include in bridal trousseau
‘Let’s go trousseau shopping’ is a four-word sentence which is like music to all the bride’s ears! The term trousseau was derived from a french word ‘trousse’ which means a case or a box filled with essentials like fabrics, accessories, makeup, etc. assembled by a bride before her wedding. With a massive burden of all the festivities and ceremonies you also have to plan and worry about what you need after the wedding, here’s a list of a few essentials to include in your bridal trousseau:
1. Perfume
Perfume is your basic essential as a bride, period. You have got to smell all rosey or sexy, it’s your right as a bride!
2. Vanity box
This is the time to go overboard with your makeup, pack all the lipstick shades for brides specifically, add kajal to your collection, vibrant eyeshadow palette etc. Don’t forget to add basic makeup for day to day looks like mascara, beauty blender, eyebrow filler etc.
Tip: best wedding lipstick would be: matte liquid based red shade of your choice.
3. Saree
As a new bride, there will be occasions when a saree will be your saviour of the event! Sarees are neither hefty nor light plus a bride in a saree is a treat to look at! Do not miss your chance to add a bunch of sarees in your trousseau.
4. Different types of blouses to serve your multi-purposes
It’s mandatory to pack different types of blouses if you’re opting out sarees to decorate your trousseau with metres of fabric! Get collar neck blouses, halter neck blouses, jacket style blouses etc. stitched which and gift yourself a whole new indo-western saree-blouse collection as a bride.
5. Beauty and skin essentials
In a vanity case, there must be a defined corner for your skincare and beauty essentials consisting essential oils, moisturizers, hair massage oil, body oil, face masks, foot cream, lip balm etc on a compulsory note.
6. Lingerie sets
Choosing lingerie sets for your vanity is probably the most exciting part of the whole trousseau shopping altogether, the soft fabric for your skin and your future errands as the newly wedded wife, oh so fascinating!
