I’ve really been enjoying Lowart’s Archie Sonic retrospective series on youtube! I grew up reading Archie Sonic, and the deep dives into each comic era and major storyline has been soooo much fun to watch!
I’m see a lot of negativity on social media as of late and it’s depressing the hell out of me. So I’m going to challenge you to do a small task: tell me ONE thing that you’ve liked seeing from Sonic media as of late. It can be anything! It can be excitement for SCU, Prime, games, comics, spinoffs, fan creators, whatever. Do not limit yourself here. I don’t like to see people upset because they have a love for something.
I’ll go first in sharing my one positive thing that I’ve liked as of late.
For me, I’ve really enjoyed seeing all of the fanart and fan theories that you’ve shared with me these past couple of weeks. Seeing artwork of upcoming Sonic content and fan projects is the highlight of my day. I love it! The same can be said with fan theories; reading them inspires others and allows artists to create their own interpretations to share with the world. And if theories click, fan can easily build upon them. That unification of a fandom is always a pleasure to see on my dash.
Continue to create and inspire others!

hang on I’m trying to see something
don’t tell me the name of your pet, just tell me in the tags the name you call them that’s got nothing to do with their actual name

It will be a hot, hot day in May (or June, or July), and the day will be sun-filled and stretching out before me.
I will step out of my house, in my floral skirt, big and ugly tote bag slung over my right shoulder. I will press shuffle on my playlist. "Poison Root" by Alex G. will play.
It is in that moment, that I will know, everything will be alright.
It is in that moment, that I become myself again.

I feel like this image speaks to the question you are asking
why ARE lions associated with courage? did someone see one kill a zebra and they were like "woah i would NOT be brave enough to do that!!"

are there any other comic-con kids out there? Like, I first started going to comic-con when I was 6 years old. My dad is one of THOSE super old school comic book collectors, and he even ran his own convention for 5 years! It has its own wikipedia page and everything!!
Just wonder whether this is an experience people still have? I know comic-con went super mainstream with the advent of the MCU, which I'm suuuuper grateful for because it's so nice to see my interests be more present in popular culture! So please regale me with your comic-con stories hahaha
I'll go first:
I remember meeting Dan Slott for the first time - he was invited to my dad's convention just as Superior Spiderman came out, and my dad was telling me about how everyone was super mad that he'd 'killed' Peter Parker, and he was worried that people would get mad about it. And then the line for his signing ended up being so long it stretched around the entire signing area.
Also, I remember finding out when George Perez passed - he was always so kind to me and would tell me stories about his own daughter, and he drew me as batgirl once. It really got to me, he was genuinely such a kind, kind man.
And there was the summer of 2018 when I went to 8 conventions - the BEST YEAR OF MY LIFE!
I think what sticks out to me most, being a girl growing up in a subculture that was (at the time) very male dominated, was that everyone was very kind to me, and listened to what I had to say, even when I grew into a teenager. All these guys that were 'big celebrities' (even in a relatively niche area) could have completely ignored me and brushed me off. But instead, they took time out of their busy schedules to talk to me, and they really inspired me to pursue my own creativity. It was such a magical time in my life, and I'm always so grateful.
(And I also remember my mum teasing my dad about Yaya Han because he had her business number in his phone and she kept implying he had a crush lmfao (all in good jest i might add))
I'm just feeling very nostalgic right now - my dad has been very sick over the past year, and in July I'm going to comic-con for the first time without him. I just miss the old days, y'know?
