I am not going to get into the fnaf fandom discourse on twt rn, but I see way too many people saying it’s Misogynistic to not be sympathetic towards Aunt Jane’s character.
It’s not misogynistic to be uncomfortable with a character who repeatedly shows that she only cares about a young girl for the sake of getting a government check. That is a very real experience a lot of people (myself included) grow up with that is so damaging to someone’s self worth.
Most of the time, we don’t get closure from these experiences either. We’re forced to grit our teeth because society tells us “Well, they’re still family/still your blood” while completely ignoring our lived experience, how it feels to know you’re so unloved & unwanted that your only value to your own family is money from the Government.
Shouting buzzwords for your own moral superiority doesn’t make you right either.
& I’m really having a hard time understanding how it’s suddenly such a big deal for this sort of trope that is so common in Horror– where a character will do outright villainous shit & get taken out by the monster.
