Some thoughts on Kalego and Iruma
I really like over-thinking on characters, and honestly Mairimashita Iruma-Kun! has had some of my all time fave characters honestly. One of which being the great big stinker himself- Naberius Kalego
Especially with how his relationship with Iruma grows over the course of the series? I know most people probably aren’t manga readers, or at least not yet, so they don’t know what I’m talking about, but regardless!
Like of COURSE he seems outright antagonistic to Iruma when we first meet him - He’s up in this kid’s face, he’s giving implied threats of expulsion, etc. And especially after the uh- incident, he seems to harbor even more hate towards Iruma than he had had to begin with. He’s an angry grumpy actually-semi-decent Severus Snape type guy when in his usual form, and an angry baby owl in his familiar form.
But what’s really interested is when you start noticing where it changes.
Spoilers for non-manga readers below!

[Mobile sucks I posted this without my answer last night so here it is in image form]
Actually! We’ve gotten pretty close to seeing such a situation, especially during the flight race arc and the school festival arc. [Vaguing best i can for anime only viewers :3].
Kalego is a jerk. He is not inherently a nice guy. There is a reason i call him a basard dad and nice-snape. [His name didn’t stick to me for the longest time, so the latter stuck as His Name to me for months and i am not ashamed].
The latter especially being hes a lot like Snape from Harry Potter. The main difference being while verbal threats are occasional, he has never gotten physical with any of the students, save for a whap here and there like your mom does gently to the back of your head when you scare her from behind a door [speaking from experience].
But he has a good heart, and he cares deeply for his students. Iruma included, no matter how much he complains or gets mad about being accidentally trapped into a year long contract into being a fluffy little familiar.
And we see this a lot, especially after he realizes Iruma bears no ill will towards him himself.
Kalego all but threatens Iruma to summon him more after a very dangerous instance, if hes ever in doubt on his own safety. And Iruma listens. He recognizes Kalego will prolly gripe and be mad about it, but he came close to summoning him anyway.
And especially in the most recent manga chapter, all the students can tell exactly that. He’s a jerk, but hes a good jerk. And despite some raws I’ve seen manga wise + Iruma’s ring in general, I do think there will be a day where, powerful as he may become, Iruma will need Kalego.
And it might be during a very dire moment.
My prediction is sometime near the end of their contract, something that makes them realize they’re a pretty good team, and that makes Kalego just a bit more willing to be the kid’s familiar, even if just to be there should he need him at the summoning of a seal.
This- turned way more into a meta post about Kalego and his relationships with his students, namely Iruma, but-
TLDR; I actually think what you asked will actually happen in canon, just prolly more with just Iruma than the whole class, but given the… scope of the villains that we haven’t seen for a while, it could actually get to be that dire, ngl.

Iru-mama and Iru-papa have similar hairstyles as Alice and Clara. Coincidence, I think not! What if these two are what Iruma wants his parents to be like?
Caring and considerate, never making fun of him when he doesn’t understand and teaches him things instead, playing with him, making him laugh, being beside him when he’s blue (he’s always blue), and so on.
Will add more stuff to this sooner or later. Wanted to make a Hide and Seek Envy animatic for this, but not now…  Soon maybe. Like how I’ve wanted to do a Yellow animatic for Shiggy and his fam for a few years now, since 2017.

Yes, it did. Kalego's familiar design is cutesy and simple, reflecting Iruma's character at the start of the show.
Naberius Callego~~
In the manga and anime, Callego is the main teacher: he conducts the familiar summoning ritual, wrote the Babyls student handbook, takes over as Chair-demon when Sullivan is away and defeats the Minotaur at Walter’s Park.
Not only that, but Kalego is a Khet-that’s pretty powerful. Remember, Sullivan is a Teth.
Tumblr media
\Note: This is altered Hebrew. We can maybe assume this is an Abrahamic Hell but cannot be sure since there have been no damned souls.
Spoilers for Manga
But he isn’t a Khet for no reason. When reviewing the Misfit class, Author-sama reveals Naberius has written a specialized notebook for everyone, demonstrating strengths, habits, etc. Using this, he makes insightful comments to each student on how to improve their standing, showing the depth of his analytical prowess.
Tumblr media
Ironically we see his intellectual side as a teacher far more often than his vicious and powerful side with his familiar, Cerberus, the three-headed dog of the underworld. When we see his demonic powers in action, it is terrifying.

Iruma is Definitely a Human!  Spoilers Ahead!
Utter lack of knowledge of the netherworld!
1.)Chants a dangerous spell
Tumblr media
2.)Knows nothing about akudols
Note//We can accurately assume akudols are the equivalent of Japan’s pop idols
              Asmodeus to the rescue!
Tumblr media
 Unusual customs, tendencies, actions
1.)Summons a demon- one of the hallmark abilities of humans, notable witches
Tumblr media
2.)Resists demonic magic
Tumblr media
During the ranking test, Iruma is not affected by the demonic scream. While one could argue that Iruma is not affected because he is the wearer of the ring, it would not hold up because Akucred is searching for magic. If Iruma did possess magic, he, too, would have been affected and drained but since he does not, being a human, he stays outside the range of influence for now.
Tumblr media
Again, Iruma cannot be judged by demonic standards or expected to abide by demonic rules or expectations. We’ll go into that later. So far, every time he has come close to being discovered most demons conclude he is either a.) very sheltered or b.) very eccentric.
Unfortunately, Iruma does outright expose his condition under moments of ease, relief, or surprise. Although to be fair to Iruma, this only occurs three times thus far.
First, he reveals he can read a human language. So far, we know through Caim that most demons speak one language and animals another. That’s minuscule compared to the 6,909 human languages (according to www.linguisticsociety.org)! So, Iruma is obviously a human to Ameri.
Tumblr media
Second and the most unfortunate,  Iruma makes a series of comments to Kirio, giving himself away. Out of all three incidents, this reveal was the most accidental and pure-hearted. Iruma’s ring is a special item that is meant to store magic away, serving the same purpose as Kirio’s necklace. As an informant, Kirio must have noticed Iruma is abnormal and gained the information he is also Sullivan’s grandson. As the Lord of Thunder in the elite group of the Thirteen Crowns, Baal must have noticed this sudden acquisition of a fully-formed ‘grandson’ despite Sullivan having no children. So, Iruma must be abnormal enough to catch the elite demon’s eye. Knowing Iruma is also in possession of a magic-sealing item only confirmed Baal’s suspicion. Why would a demon need an item like that if he is abnormal.? Iruma does not possess a weak body like Kirio’s or a huge amount of magic like Sullivan. In the class ranking test, Iruma needs magic power from others. Plus, the magic Iruma performs in class bears Sullivan’s signature showing casing the before-mentioned statement. Logically, Iruma cannot be a demon and must be a human.
Tumblr media
With that information, every hapless slipup Iruma makes near Kirio is magnified.
Tumblr media
Looking at the scene again, I feel disturbed.
Before discussing the third incident, I’ll discuss the background details of the third demon, Balam. Obsessed with the mythic legend of humans, he has become a biology teacher at Babyls. After a crushing incident, Balam’s mouth is exposed, revealing his demonic teeth. Afterward, he cannot pet animals anymore because they are scared of his appearance. So, he touches all living beings whenever he has the chance. He gets away with this odd behavior because of his high rank as a chet (8). His bloodline ability allows him to tell whether someone is lying or telling the truth: in Babyls. he catches the vast majority of student cheaters, gaining the respect of all the other teachers.
After Iruma comes to him, he touches him as is his custom. But something is off! He has no wings! After a series of Iruma avoiding him and Balam trying to expose him, Iruma gains his trust by showing fake wings and implying he is just an abnormal demon. This leads us to the third incident of Iruma’s exposure and the most ridiculous. No more explanation is needed.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
TLDR; When viewed from an outside perspective, Iruma is obviously a human.
