Everything was done by hand, from choosing a flight to booking it, to flying it, and from delivering it to destination. Years ago, there was no way of getting cheap flights. Nowadays, you can buy them for as low as $90. That is amazing! If you have a question about airline fares, you have come to the right place! In this article, I will present my experience with searching for flights on airfare website Skyscanner.com . I searched for the cheapest flight from New York City to Orlando , Florida , and booked it using the Skyscanner search engine. The search results were pretty accurate with just one or two exceptions: when I typed in “Spirit Airlines” , I got 2 different results. One said that Spirit Airlines had flights departing on these dates, but didn’t have any prices; another said Spirit Airlines had prices starting at $132 per person per night! Luckily, I found an exact match by searching with only one word: “Spirit Airlines” . 2. How to Find Cheap Flights I’m a current student of the North American Aviation Academy (NAAA), and I have noticed some interesting trends within the student body. Spirit airline booking have extended to the entire academy and its students as a whole: 1. Many students are way ahead of their peers in terms of knowledge of general aviation. 2. Less than 1/3 of all NAAA students are “airline” pilots, and most of them aren’t even aspiring to become airlines themselves (and they certainly don’t make enough money to do that). 3. Fewer than 1/3 are serious enough about aviation to work at airlines. 4. Less than 1/3 are serious enough about aviation to be willing to work for airlines, even in their spare time! 5. It is not unusual for people who aren’t airline pilots, but who are still interested in piloting, to start working for airlines after graduation. This doesn’t mean that they want or need to become airline pilots; it just means that they want and need a good paying job with a company they like while they learn how to fly airplanes as well as pilot everything else that goes along with piloting an airplane (takeoffs, landings, instrument flying, etc.). 3. Best Time to Book a Flight Spirit Airlines is a budget airline, and it’s not just for the US. Spirit Airlines has flights to most major cities in Asia, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. I’m not going to mention how much the airlines often charge to travel within the US because it varies so much by city. I will just say that when flying between two different cities in several different countries, I’ve found that $20-$30 used to buy me a cheap flight ticket. 4. How to Save Money on Flights You can save lots of money on your flights if you know where to look. You may have a lot of baggage when you travel, but it’s impossible—or at least very expensive—to calculate how much it will cost to ship everything in. To find the cheapest flight — whether to a destination far from home or just between two cities — you need to know how much baggage each airline charges for your flight.
