It is universally true that more government never solved any problem ever and always causes more.
However, it is also universally true that those born into poverty are statistically MUCH more likely to become lifelong criminals, druggies, blue collar workers living paycheck to paycheck, reliant on government handouts, etc. because they're surrounded by such behavior. Yes, you do see people lift themselves out of poverty and become wealthy, and yes, you do see people forsake the wealth they were born into and become leeches, but it's rare.
The more obvious solution is jobs and a strong economy. One where people earn a living and keep what they earn. One that teaches people that when they work and are a productive member of society, they get rewarded with money they can spend on what they want, but when they don't work and are a drain on society, they don't get anything. One where the government is tiny and derives what little power it has from the people. Unfortunately, the only way to make this a reality is usually revolution.
'Tough on crime' should mean proactive policies, not reactionary punishments.

Fun fact! Israel is NOT at war with Palestine, or with Gaza. Israel is at war with HAMAS. And Hamas is using Gazans as pawns.

If the school is in, like, Chicago or Baltimore, I could see that. You get outside the huge cities though, and America is actually fairly safe. In fact if you remove 5 cities, America goes from one of the 10 most violent countries in the world to one of the 5 least violent.
Of course, you get outside the huge cities and everybody you meet could be armed. Maybe there's a correlation there.
oh yeah bomb/shooting threats are pretty common at my school too, we dont do lockdowns for them anymore because theyve all been fake so far (as in there wasnt actual danger, someone still made the threat)
you're telling me your school gets so many bomb threats that they don't even bother evacuating anymore???

It's actually getting better. Children who recited those pledges every morning before school (myself included) are more likely to remember that the freedom we enjoy in our country and God come first in our lives.
I went to a private Christian school in America, and we had to say not one, but THREE pledges in the morning. Not all three at the same time, (except on Wednesdays) we'd cycle through them but yeah. It got REAL repetitive.
We had our good ol' American flag pledge, of course. Then one of the other ones was the pledge to the "Christian flag." (picture below)
It went, "I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the Savior for whose kingdom it stands, one Savior, crucified, risen, and coming again with life and liberty to all who believe.”
And then there was the pledge to the Bible, which went, "I pledge allegiance to the Bible, God's holy word, I will make it a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path and will hide its words in my heart so I might not sin against God."
I memorized all of these by the time I was like 8. Needless to say, I had a very nice childhood :) /s

Learned today that DeviantArt is owned by Wix, an Israeli company listed under boycott by the BDS Palestinian human rights organization.
Under Wix, who acquired DeviantArt in 2017, DV has been pushing Israeli occupation propaganda and allowing Generative Ai to completely takeover the platform and be sold on it.
It’s clear that under Wix, DeviantArt DOES NOT CARE whatsoever about the art or the artists it was originally created to cater towards. It only cares for profit.
Even if you are not well-versed on the current politics surrounding the Israeli Occupation and the erasure of Palestine for some reason, everyone can agree that Wix has changed DeviantArt for the worse and the best case scenario is that they sell it to someone who actually cares for art, not profit.
I absolutely adore to death so much of the art there, but for now I will stop posting my art there and I suggest that other artists do the same. They DO NOT DESERVE YOUR ART.
Please transition towards using alternatives like Tumblr, Insta, Twitter, and Newgrounds. Newgrounds especially is the best alternative to DeviantArt. Please suggest other alternatives as well.
