State of Inkwell

I think it’s not been much of a secret that i’ve been putting less of myself into my event as of late, and though i’ve talked about some of this here and there on discord, I think I should be clear and get all my thoughts out here. I’m very, very thankful for all my regulars over the years, @commanderbragh, @llane-venner, @mremaknu, @maralina-ooc especially were good about taking the time to attend even during the downtimes and Ireally appreciate it and all the fun we’ve had. So, a few things are happening, first, ShC is dead, and has been dead for sometime, and even though we continued as a friend group, I think we actually managed to get burned on rp because we had the same characters interacting together for years, all built around the pillar of 10 to 15 active rpers. Life has gotten busier and busier, interest in the game has waned, and I think people are just less interested in seeing the same old OCs every time. Unfortunately for me, I interpreted this personally at times, I perceived my characters as boring, that I couldn’t keep the interest of my friends anymore, especially with things like prompts and asks drying up for the most part. No one cared anymore, and Inkwell was kinda a weekly remind that just a couple people were even interested in trying. Been a bit of soul searching and reflection since then, and I came to the sensible conclusions, we couldn’t maintain what we had anymore, we couldn’t cling to a community of just us and put the pressure of being the entire community on each other. Relying on a handful of people for rp to even happen isn’t sustainable, in fact i’m shocked it ever did. A lot of us are making plans to move to a larger community at WrA, and i’ll be one of those people, once i’m settled in, and we have our community over there (if we really decide to do this) I will probably pick up the event there, probably returning to SW with the hopes of attracting newcomers to join us in our rp. This, however, may take a bit, some are waiting for the new leveling, and we are still raiding and swapping servers right at the beginning of a raid tier might be a bit much to ask. So i’ll be sure to keep folks updated, but for now, I would like some time to recharge creatively, prep for moving into a new community, and let my friends kinda organize what they’d like to do, and start fresh.  I hope everyone understands my thought process behind it, and knows just how thankful i’ve been for each and every one of you that have joined me in all of my events over the years, from when I served at the golden leaf to now.

Hallow’s Eve Inkwell: Raven Hill 10-24

Hey folks! Posting a little early this week so folks have prep time, but Tuesday, Oct. 24th will be Inkwell’s Hallows’ Eve get together!  Meet up at the Raven hill cemetery town with your favorite costume, and enjoy a night of good food, good company, and a 5000 gold costume contest! As always 7 pm mountain time!

Inkwell, 10/10, Ring of Trials

Hey folks! Llane’s taking over Inkwell again tonight. He’ll be serving refreshments at Draenor’s Ring of Trials (in Nagrand) starting at 7 PM server time. Come on down and cheer on the gladiators!

Inkwell 9-26: Gadgetzan Beach

Hey gang! Inkwell’s headed for some sun and surf tonight, meeting at the beachside near Gadgetsan in Tanaris! As always Inkwell will take place at 7:00 mountain time!

Inkwell, 9/19, Shado-Pan Monastery

Hey folks, Llane’s back for another Inkwell! This week, we’re going to one of his favorite places, Kun-Lai Summit, so be sure to bring a jacket!

He’ll be serving refreshments in the pavilion to the east of Shado-Pan Monastery starting at 7PM server time, so hope to see you all there!

Inkwell 9-12: Ironforge, Military Ward

Hey again! This week Dar’s gonna host a little house party at the Truthhammer residence on the southeastern corner of the Military Ward in ironforge! 7:00 mountain time!

Hey folks, inkwell is returning and will. E hosted back at its roots. I thank you all for accepting my decision to take a break and i return a much happier and creatively reenergized person, so i feel i made the most of it.

Inkwell hiatus, just for a few weeks

Hey gang, i’m not throwing in the towel yet, but I am taking a short break from running this event, dont expect the hiatus to last long than this month, if that. Thank you for your understanding everyone, hope to see you all return when I do. Much <3 to all attendees, past and present!

Inkwell, 7/25, New Cifera

Hey folks! Tonight's Inkwell will be at New Cifera, in the Valley of the Four Winds. Llane will be running a little late, but hope to see you all there!

ZONE: Suramar

NPCS: None (nearby hostiles)

SETTING SIZE: Small

ACCESSIBILITY: Requires flying, legion content, 110

CAVEATS: Surrounding area difficult to navigate due to elites

NOTES: Suramar is a city shrouded in tragedy, but probably the worst of all is its poor accessibility for RPers. We’ve taken it back from the Legion, let us walk around without fear!

That sadly will probably not happen, so the best we can do is secure little spaces for ourselves. Among them is this nice little terrace overlooking the Court of Stars. Tip back some rapidly-appreciating-in-value arcwine while you lounge on some cushions and watch the nobles scatter below.

Hey folks! As it's the height of summer, beat the heat at tonight's Inkwell, held in the tavern on Fizzle and Pozzik's Speedbarge in Thousand Needles. Llane will be there serving refreshments around 7PM, server time. Hope to see you there!
