"You don't have a very good work-life balance, do you?" Mina sighed, seeing that this was not going as well as she had hoped. Oh well. She reached into her lapel pocket-- slowly-- and withdrew a pack of Tareytons and a plastic lighter. Lighting one, she adressed Molly again.
"That was a long while ago, yes? And while I'm sure we were both terribly annoyed at each other then, this is now. We don't work for those twats anymore, do we?" She smiled, blowing smoke between her teeth. "Thanks to you."
And then the word ceasefire passed Molly's lips, and Mina had the audacity to look surprised. She stared at Molly.
"You're not serious." She shook her head, squinting at Molly curiously. "You are. Oh, goodness. Over a century, and there never fails to be a surprise."
"I'm hitting on you, Molly darling.
Trying to pick you up. Take you out.
The pasta is a prelude to sapphic overtures."

Nothing permanent, anyway. Molly supposed not. What was permanency to two people who'd seen the "finality" of death, only to return time and again? Mina far more often than herself, thankfully, but the few times it had happened, she wasn't keen on repeating. After a while, wouldn't she get used to it? Wouldn't it just become another thing to deal with, rather than something that was the end?
"You just sorta keep saying stuff that really isn't helping me want to put this away." Molly managed through gritted teeth. Among all of the fighting with Mina, not even the fact that she'd smashed the supply of power cells topped the list for her. It had been knowing how close and how often Mina had been to killing Horst. That was a particular hill she'd gladly die on, again and again.
"Unrelated, but you want me to join you. You'll forgive me if I'm a little skeptical of this sudden request for ceasefire." Was the gnocchi going to be poisoned? No, right? What good would that do?
