Koschei was a good student. He was smart and he knew it, and if he wanted to be cunning he could be cunning. But perhaps ‘good’ was not the correct term. He was definitely good when it came to academics, but behavior-wise he had some more issues. He couldn’t help that it was so incredibly boring. At least Theta and Ushas agreed. At least he had them. Even if they were in some sort of academic competition that Koschei knew he was destined to win.

The window? Koschei asked, and when he received a psychic pulse in the affirmative, he started down the corridor. He was very good at his psychic abilities, far surpassing most of the other students at their level. And he and Theta had a connection, which helped.

“She doesn’t like you,” Koschei smirked, having appeared rather suddenly at Theta’s side. He slid down the wall to sit next to her, though he could not help his arrogant smile. He was talking about their teacher. “There’s a reason she put me at top level and not you.” They were friends, yes, but that did not mean he would not tease her. “So what are you doing? Moping?”

Theta Sigma was glad when the class finally ended. Not that she ever paid attention during it, but it meant she stopped being stuck in the same room as each minute dragged by. Standing up, she sighed in relief and straightened out her robes.

She couldn’t get out of the room fast enough. She ran out and off into the corridor. There was a corridor that she particularly enjoyed, with the second sun hitting the area perfectly and the whole place being basically empty. She sat below the window and sighed happily, closing her eyes and tilting her head back. Finally she had some peace.

Sarah Jane knew that if The Doctor was going to pick on anyone out of the two of them, it would be Harry. And Sarah Jane was always the one who would try and stop it. She hated being the one in the middle when The Doctor done that. She cared about The Doctor a lot. But then she also cared for Harry a lot. 

She watched as Harry paid the waiter and then stood up. Hearing him say this, she raised an eyebrow. She had lost count of how many times she had told him not to call her old girl…or old thing. But it didn’t stop him. Getting to her feet, she nodded and took a hold of his hand. “I think we should. And Harry…I would be faster…if I was taller.”

he just smiled at that, shaking his head in a friendly manner as they headed out of the restaurant hand-in-hand, harry occasionally accidentally pulling her along. at least she let him know when he did so with an “oof” or “hey!” once they got through the main section of the restaurant, which was much more crowded than their outside seating had been, he dropped her hand and started to look around.

“ what was the thing with these again? what the doctor said? ” harry was inspecting a little blue car attached to some rails on the road. it had just enough space for two people, and no steering wheel or other methods of driving it. it just went along the tracks -- all harry would have to do is tell it where he wanted it to go. “ we can just take any one of these, right? but where’s the coin slot? ”

it took several moments for him to find where to insert the coin, but the doors flew open as soon as he did. “ after you, ” he said, gesturing her into the cramped car. as he slid in, knees nearly touching his chest, he cleared his throat. “ uhm... to the rocks! ” he announced, as he did not actually know what the place was called that they had seen the explosion coming from. with that, the car immediately started zooming down the road, heading in the opposite direction harry expected.

Sarah Jane had been so annoyed with The Doctor when he had said that herself and Harry would slow him down. These were two people who at times could get The Doctor out of sticky situations. Now here they were waiting for him. At least they weren’t sitting around doing nothing. Somehow, Harry had convinced her to have a meal at a restaurant that they had found there. How he had managed that she had no idea. But she agreed.

She was sipping her drink when she had heard the explosion. Of course she had noticed it, but besides Harry, no one else seemed to. Or at least they didn’t take any notice of it. Sarah Jane nodded. “Most probably. Either him being the one setting it off, or he has annoyed someone enough for them to do that to try and scare him off.” She said. Sarah Jane looked back at Harry.

harry had been annoyed as well, but likely not as much as sarah. he was used to the doctor’s grievances with him -- he considered the doctor (and sarah) a good friend, but he also knew if the doctor needed someone to pick on it would very likely be him. it helped the doctor to think, he supposed. so when the doctor told them to bugger off, harry did so much more willingly than sarah, who tried to argue with the time lord in her headstrong way. it was something he admired in the girl, even though the doctor refused to listen.

he nodded at that, and reached into his pocket. calling the waiter over, he gave him some coins, probably much more than their meal was truly worth, and stood up. “ what do you say, old girl? think we should go help? ” he asked, holding out his hand for her. “ we can rent one of those cars the doctor took. i still have some credits left. ” knowing sarah jane, she probably already wanted to head down there, and he was not going to put up a fight. “ we could get down there in a jiffy, if you’d hurry up. ”

“ now would you look at that. ” harry and sarah were alone -- the doctor was off investigating on his own, having claimed in a fit that sarah and harry (well, more the latter) would slow him down if they tried to come along. that was not going to stop the pair from performing their own investigation, though theirs was much more of the sit-and-wait variety. it had taken some doing from harry to convince sarah to share a meal with him at the fancy alien restaurant.
