One Bad Night | Imogen & Jake

jake: kept his eyes on imogen as she spoke, noticing how distraught she was just by listening to her voice. he never had anything against drew but now hearing about how he hurt imogen certainly doesn't gain him any points. "i'm sorry, ims," he said, rubbing her back gently. "what did adam do after you kissed him?" he asked but part of him already knew the answer since last time he and adam hung out, adam expressed in grave detail about his interest in becky baker and he knew adam wasn't the type to betray someone he cared for. "and has drew tried to talk to you since?"

imogen: shook her head. "It's not your fault." She tried to think back to that moment. "I'm not even fully sure. I just kind of did it and then stormed off. He probably freaked out though, knowing him. And Becky was right there. God I'm a terrible friend." She said, biting her lip. She shook her head once more. "No not after the last time I stormed off. I haven't really checked my phone though, but I told him to leave me alone." She said, wiping at her eyes slightly. "I should have just trusted my instincts, then I wouldn't be in this situation."

becky: it's alright, i don't fully understand but i hope everything is okay with you

Imogen: Yeah, well I didn't mean to hurt anyone, except maybe Drew.

Imogen: It was stupid. I shouldn't have done it, but I wasn't thinking clearly.

Drew: you're welcome. i don't do it often so hope it was okay.

Imogen: I mean it was an apology.

Drew: nevermind.

Drew: i just wanted to say i'm sorry. im sorry for how everything went down. im sorry for sleeping with someone. and im sorry for not telling you. if you don't speak to me again i understand... but yeah. sorry.

Adam: not my place. thought he was changing for once once i learned about it

Adam: hope so

Adam: well thank you. probably because half the dudes at degrassi just have a single brain cell they all share

Imogen: Yeah I thought so too, guess we were both wrong.

Imogen: I know so.

Imogen: You know, I almost wouldn't be surprised if that were the case. Like they are working with this hive mind mentality.

Adam: you should have but there's no changing the past now

Adam: just let me know what happens with becky and let me know if i can help you at all

Imogen: You didn't exactly say much about it.

Imogen: Things are going to be fine with you guys, I just know it.

Imogen: Thanks, I really appreciate it. Also I wasn't including Adam Torres in the guys who are assholes. You're one of the only good ones.

Adam: idk but drew is an idiot and i'm done talking to him

Adam: you promise?

Adam: thank you imogen. i know how mad drew can make people so like... sometimes his level is easy to sink to

Imogen: Yeah me too.

Imogen: Yes.

Imogen: I should have just known better from the start. I don't know why I keep trying when guys are just assholes.

jake: grabbed the girl's hands and pulled her back down to sit. "no, i wasn't asleep and you're not stupid," he said, trying to calm her down. "go back to the beginning," he said, after he grabbed her cup of water from the kitchen. "what exactly happened with drew? when i talked to you last, i thought things were going okay with you two."

Imogen: fell back onto the couch as he stopped her from leaving. "Ok ok. Yeah I just. If you're sure." She said, taking a couple of breaths. She sipped at the water and nodded. "Yeah so did I, but apparently I was wrong. I mean we didn't exactly come out and label it, but I'm pretty sure I made it clear that I didn't really do casual. So you know we've gone on dates and like made out and stuff. Anyways I don't know if you knew about the party at the ravine but um Adam and I went just to hang out and like get over the last party. Well Drew showed up and there was a game of truth or dare and um it came out that him and esme like hooked up and something might have happened with frankie too. I didn't exactly ask for details. I just got mad at drew and walked away. He tried to stop me and explain and I kissed Adam and stormed off. Oh my God I kissed Adam." She said as if it just fully sunk in. She drank more water, like that would have fixed things.

imogen: I just wanted to let you know that Adam had nothing to do with what happened at the ravine.

Imogen: it was just a wrong place at a wrong time I mean I could have just as easily kissed you to make the point I was trying to make. I really am sorry.

Adam: yeah well drew saw it that way and i'm sure becky did too

Adam: she's going to hate me. she couldn't call things off then because my nose was bleeding and I could barely stand. Not exactly a dumping moment

Adam: just please explain everything to her. i'm hurt but i'm sure she is too since you're her best friend

Imogen: well I thought it was rather obvious that you had nothing to do with that. I mean why would you kiss someone while holding hands with your girlfriend?

Imogen: if she didn't say anything then she doesn't hate you. Trust me if she was really hurt to the point of wanting to break up with you, she would have said something.

Imogen: yeah I'll um text her and let her know that you had nothing to do with it. I shouldn't have sunk to his level.

Adam: /i/ kissed his girl.

Adam: she said yes but that was before the kiss incident. idk she helped take care of my nose but i'm sure she's pissed

imogen: you didn’t though. And I’m not his girl.

imogen: that’s great! Congratulations. I’m sure if she had changed her mind, she would have said something.

jake: had walked downstairs, in just his boxers and went into the kitchen to get a late night snack; his usual routine before he went to bed. he was rummaging through the fridge when he heard a knock on the door. confused as to why anyone would be at his house at this hour, he walked over to the front entrance very carefully. he looked through the window before opening the door and a smile instantly crossed his face when he saw who it was. "hey, ims!" he said but when she looked up at him, he could see how sullen she had looked. "imogen, what happened?" he questioned. "come here, come inside," he continued, putting his arm on her shoulder to guide her inside and then following her over to the couch.

Imogen: was almost surprised when he opened the door, figuring that maybe no one would answer and she'd have to go home. "Um hey Jake I know it's late but..." she started, clearing her voice. Before she could say anything more, he was asking what happened and pulling her inside. "You're probably just going to think I'm stupid." She said, sinking down onto the couch, just now realizing how tired her legs felt. "I um I think I just broke up with Drew. I'm not even really sure. I mean I thought we were like official, but maybe we weren't. It doesn't matter though because either way it's totally not cool that he has been doing stuff with other girls." She said, wiping at her eyes again. Imogen noticed Jake's state of undress. "Were you asleep? Sorry. I shouldn't have...I should let you get sleep. I mean I'm fine. Totally fine." She said with a sniffle, clearly not fine as she moved to stand up. Imogen knew that she could go to Jake about anything, he knew about all the stuff with her dad after all, but that didn't stop her from sometimes feeling like a burden.

Adam: drew busted my nose. it's not broken but it sure is bruised. we're not talking

Adam: i should have warned you what type of guy he was but... fire with fire, imogen?

Adam: well you kinda kissed me after i officially asked her to be my girlfriend

Imogen: He did what?! Why did he do that? I never meant for you to get hurt.

Imogen: I know it was stupid, but I wasn't thinking clearly. I should have known that he wasn't just going to change.

Imogen: whoops. So what did she say?

imogen: hadn't been fully paying attention where she was walking, she just knew she wanted to get away from the ravine and what happened. She kept running through everything in her mind, trying to spot when everything went wrong. She thought that maybe she had misjudged Drew and he was exactly who she'd thought he was. Imogen took her glasses off, wiping her eyes, before putting them back up. She looked around to realize that she was in the street where Jake lived. She knew that he might not be home, but she took her chances, knocking on the door.

Adam: [11:52] can you at least explain why?

Adam: and apologize to becky too?

Imogen: Drew didn't say anything?

Imogen: Let's just say that I found out that I'm not the only one that Drew has been kissing. I'm really sorry. I was just really upset and emotional and i figured if he can kiss other people then maybe I should too and you were just kind of there.

Imogen: Oh God Becky. Is everything ok with her? Please don't tell me that two relationships were ruined last night.

Imogen: Hey I know you probably don't want to talk to me right now, but I'm really sorry about last night. I just um wanted to let you know.
