Ok jokes aside, here is the actual ref-sheet for his new design. It's still closely inspired by his previous design.
The new design is still not actual 'armor' as the game tends to describe it as. But yknow, this is my house and I think this design slaps. I can do what I want forever 🫵.
Thoughts and explanations of the design under the cut <3.
I wanted the base suit to resemble the 'mystery' tag more than it originally did, as well as lean more into the og sidestep colors (he doesn't call himself Sidestep for nothing).
Keeping the top layer of clothes for flair and also bright fuck orange for the stark contrast with the suit's actual teal (smth smth, true colors under a facade). But also it's too look less threatening? River tends to portray Sidestep(evil edition) as generally aloof and playful - with certain moments of eerie calm and seriousness.
Rip to the emoji helmet, you will be missed but not truly gone. Instead of a digital face I've made this star shape that would react and glitch based on feelings (not unlike a soundwave). Which I feel embodies the spirit of the 'mystery' tag more. (the star is the base, the one on the right is what I imagine crackles over the helmet when River is in pain or yelling)

Behold. Baby Gideon.
So when Harrow has a very bad time while traveling trough the River for the first time in Harrow the Ninth and sees the dead children of the Ninth House, including a baby Gideon with face-paint, the intensity of the moment was kind of dampened by the mental image that popped in my head.
Just the idea of Gideon with face-paint makes me think of her on the cover with the sunglasses. Ergo, baby Gideon with sunglasses.

Oh the comedy and irony of Marshal Steel being on the breakroom fridge! Karma really does come for everyone.
Julia is honestly living her best life after years of Chen's dissaproving looks. Argent will never let Steel live this down (and also happy that this 100% makes people forget that she also kissed Sidestep). Herald probably regrets ever taking the hero drug rn.

The Dark Urge HAD to have had a special little temple outfit, and if they didn't before I KNOW that Gortash would've made sure they had one (can't take over/destroy the world if you ain't looking cute).
I based part of it on that one death mage armor from the Basket Full of Equipment mod because it's banging. The red wrap is supposed to be the deathstalker mantle :D
