Honestly, I came from having lukewarm feelings about Olivia to just not straight up liking her, just for the way she handled the drama. I am also so tired of how her fans are babying her and saying that whatever she says won’t change anything and I’m like that’s not the point?? The point is to show that she actually fucking cares, which she didn’t show at all  😭😭 Also, even if we go with that argument and disregard "controlling" her fans, what about her friends who posted slutshaming/shady tweets about Sabrina? I heard this from a friend but her dad also apparently liked slutshaming tweets about Sabrina although I am unsure about that one but still, if she couldn't take the time to say anything to her fanbase maybe tell her friends to stop shading Sab and fueling the drama further?

They also bring up Selena's situation where Sel addressed her fans so many times to not send anyone hate and people hate on HB anyway and I'm like but notice how no one is blaming Selena Gomez for it? I’m late to the Skinny Dipping party by two weeks or so but I do want to share my two cents about it because apparently, majority of the haters still can’t leave Sabrina alone. 

First off, the “spoken verses” were totally intentional. It’s not for everybody and I respect that but calling the song flop because of it is just bad understanding of music on your part.

Second, it was meant to sound like that because if you actually listen to the lyrics- it’s meeting an ex. It was meant to be awkward and all over the place because she was recalling that awkward encounter with her ex. It gets progressively more into with the tune as she comes into terms with the arguments on the garage and all that. It was genius.

Third, I don’t know how you all can just point fingers at this song and call it toxic and dragging a woman down and straight up hating it when it’s literally a song about letting go, moving on, and acceptance- stop dragging Sabrina into another drama OMG get a hobby.

Before anyone sends me anything, yes- she’s still getting hate over this. Almost everyone at TikTok said this is a bad song and every single day since I streamed the MV on Youtube, there will always be comments from all these people comparing her to Olivia, saying it’s a bad song, saying bad things about Sabrina, or just downright calling the song a flop.

If your basis of flop is chart performance I honestly feel sorry for you (SD actually did great, and you have to take note that Islands didn’t promote the song all too well) because you have to have all these big companies telling you what’s good music or not. Decide for yourself.

I get it if you don’t like the song but if you don’t have anything nice to say, maybe just stream your fave’s MV and leave Sabrina Carpenter alone? Thanks, that’d be awesome!

i didn't watch the video intentionally too! i honestly picked it out as something to play along in the background as i study but i ended up watching the entire thing and just having a wonderful time?? the interview is so beautiful and they created such a safe space i would 100% recommend it to anyone, fan or not.
