the “CuLt-LiKe RiTuAl” scene isn’t actually that satanic.
here are the “satanic markings” that were used to summon the final boss in TDM3.
like… that’s it? aside from being a bunch of fancy stuff inside of a circle, that doesn’t even remotely resemble a pentagram, hexagram, or anything occult or demonic! in fact, i am upset that hilda actually has symbols more satanic than the symbols from this silly little JRPG that actually DID get accused of being satanic. i have always wondered if it’s even possible to make a “magic circle” without it resembling anything from satanism or wicca, and i am pleasantly surprised.
all in all, that summoning scene feels more like a stereotypical JRPG “bad guy summoning a huge monster which proceeds to betray him” scene than something satanic or demonic. i mean, the final boss that was summoned is literally a BBEG(big bad evil gargoyle), but still.
that out of the way, i did see some stuff about idols and spirits that imprisoned the BBEGargoyle, so that made me think a bit. i think the denpa men might be more dedicated to the semi-serious JRPG theme than i thought, which isn’t really something i’m interested in. i like the concept of scanning radio waves to collect highly-variable dudes to fight for you in dungeons, but, eh… the story might be a bit too weird for my tastes.
i’m just glad that that dude was overreacting. all that’s left is “666 damage”, which is… not great, and probably worth ignoring the game over.
i think i can survive not getting these games by the time the Eshop closes, now.
