♛╎bubble tea.
rkxsooah:
sooah’s eyes were focused on the screen of her phone, a small smile on her painted lips as she followed the conversation of the group chat of her closest friends. the current topic was, as so often, boys. one of the girls started gushing over a specific idol and soon enough all of them started adding their two cents, sending pictures and trying to convince each other just why exactly each of them were such perfect boyfriend material.  it had been a while, though, and while she didn’t mind waiting in a busy cafe, it was not nearly busy enough for her drink to take this long. she tucks a loose strand of wavy hair behind her ear and glances up, towards the counter, just in time to see one of the baristas head her way. the smile on her face widens slightly, exposing a dimple. thank you had been on the tip of her tongue, the girl expecting to hear the same thing she always did whenever someone served her a drink, when the barista seemed to freeze. his words are nothing what she expects to hear and while it’s not the first time that a random boy compliments sooah, the boy in question was tall and handsome and it was enough to make her turn shy. “ah-” her smile turns coy and small, her fingers brushing the same strand as before behind her ear and chin lowering to hide her face and pink cheeks. “thank you very much.” her phone buzzes with another notification from the group chat and all sooah can think of is who needs idols when there are plenty of handsome boys around her?  she glances up at the barista through long lashes and while it becomes quite apparent that he had no more reason to stay, she didn’t want to let him leave just quite, yet. “oppa,” if there was one thing she learnt it was that no boy could refuse her anything if she addressed them like that, “are you new here? i don’t think i’ve seen you before?”
embarrassment flames at the tips of his ears, though what donghan thought to be ending in absolute disaster, seems to be taken well by his poor victim customer. she smiles even, so light and warm like the sun, and donghan finds himself to be the flower that blossoms underneath the nurturing ray, his own lips curling upwards with a pair of dimples creasing into his cheeks. overwhelming beauty aside, the teenager feels himself relaxing a bit, ready to walk away after another polite bow of his head when actual disaster strikes.
“oppa,”
donghan freezes on the spot, eyes growing wide as that single word echoes through his ears, sending his heartbeat on a frenzy. her voice is so sweet, her vocals the perfect high pitch, her eyelashes so smooth as they flutter… is this what love at first sight feels like? he isn’t sure, doesn’t have much experience when it comes to females in the first place which makes this all the more difficult for him to deal with. the male knows he should walk away, keep that distance between worker and customer, but this girl is so beautiful he can’t seem to pry himself away.
instead, donghan boldly invites himself onto the seat beside the girl, keeps his tray on his lap with one arm as the other props up onto the table, resting his chin in the palm of his hand. his mind is blank, presenting confidence he does not have as he wears the most charming smiles he can manage, half moon-shaped crescents forming next to the outer corners of his eyes. and that is about it, because as soon as donghan opens his mouth to speak, he’s stuttering again.
❝ yeah, uhm, ❞ the teen clears his throat, smile turning shy as he leans back and has his other arm join the one on his lap.  ❝ i started… short of two months ago? ❞ a chuckle escapes, gaze lowering to the tabletop when keeping eye contact becomes too difficult.  ❝ i’m… donghan, by the way - as you can see from my name tag, ❞ keeping the conversation going goes not nearly as smooth as donghan wishes for it to be, but he’s trying, daring to sneak a glance at the female for his next question;  ❝ what’s your name? ❞

♛╎happy holidays.
  ➝ solo (winter event)
december 30th, the last day of the festival. donghan had seen the flyers all over the city, checked his calendar to pick the days he would be able to go, but in the end, he held back. christmas was known to be a family holiday, and all previous celebrations were spend with his grandparents– his own parents before that. but now that donghan had moved to seoul, leaving his family behind in the countryside, there was no one to celebrate with. no grandma’s infamous cake, no laughter around the bonfire, no messy floors coated in shredded wrapping paper…
the teenager had opted for staying home, spend his christmas like any other day this year- which he did. but that doesn’t take away that donghan is a social person, and especially at this time of the year, he longs for company.
he’s got his fluffy jacket on, face mask worn, and a bag of canned peaches in hand. it’s not much, but the charity event could not be ignored, especially for someone who is more than willing to give to those in need. despite the new year’s celebrations being around the corner, seoul is as busy as donghan knows it to be, the plaza crowded with couples and families, young and old, all there for the same reason. it is lonely, yet in a sense, the nineteen year old feels content, his heart warming at the beautiful smiles worn on people’s faces. this, this is way better than spending one of the last days of 2017 at home.
the charity goods are dropped off at the stand, his chosen ice rink ticket given to a young boy whose mother could not afford any goods of her own. because donghan couldn’t ask for more than the happiness of another human being- plus, he isn’t exactly a good ice skater. Instead, he takes a seat on one of the benches in the middle of the plaza, legs crossed and hands folded as he gazes around, takes in the cheerful atmosphere that surrounds him, hiding a chuckle behind a balled up fist when a couple bumps noses on the ice rink after attempting a kiss whilst skating.
time flies by like that, and when donghan gets up, the dark has risen outside, a layer of snow enlightened by clear moonlight. he sighs contently, fixes the puffy hoodie of his jacket as he begins to exit the plaza- but not without swinging by the nearest pet store to buy a snack. because no one should be forgotten during the winter holidays, especially not his lovely cat snow.
