the shovel drags on the gravel, hearing the crunch of the stones as feet pad along the dirt path. the moon attempts to stretch light to every nook and cranny, but the darkness overpowers. once upon a time, she would be afraid of being in the silence but as they further along the path, the only thing she has to be afraid of is not being able to do what they need to do. head turns to the other, arm wrapped across her waist in an attempt to contain some of her body heat ; her own fault for not remembering to put her thicker jacket on.Ā āĀ all iām saying is that we couldāve been here earlier ... if only someone didnāt stop to get something to eat. āĀ she breathes, a fog escaping from her mouth as she speaks, a chill running down the back of her spine.Ā āĀ then I wouldnāt almost be freezing to death right now. ā
