fin hadn't said it in a do you know who you're talking to, buddy? kind of way, but instead in a honestly, please say you don't know me, it'd be better for both of us kind of way. he could only be so hopeful. finley would never go as far as to say he's any sort of famous, but he's recognized more than he thought he'd be. the guy with the camera, messing around in places he definitely shouldn't be in. running into other hunters were his main problem - they didn't like the way he handled his business, plastering real monsters online and sharing their world, despite no one really believing any of it is real - but this guy seemed genuine in his interest for finley. he shakes the other man's hand firmly, lips pressed together as he nods his greeting.

'i wanna say i'm surprised t'find some weirdo just chilling in my hotel room, but believe it or not - this isn't the first time it's happened,' far from it. and if this stranger was dangerous, well - fin had guns hidden all over the place, a knife in his waistband. but he didn't want to use them, and he hoped he wasn't given a reason to. hand points toward the chair across from the other. 'mind if i sit?' jest is given dryly, fin taking a seat shortly after asking, crossing his arms over his chest as he glances down at what orion was repairing. 'don't tell me - you're th'next spiderman,' amused eyes glance up at the other. fin is still very much on alert, but he can't help making jokes. 'was there no where else you could've fixed that thing, or is this a special visit?'

the world was full of mysteries and full of monsters, and sometimes monsters wore people's faces, pretended to be kind, helpful, sincere. orion had seen and experienced the fucked up shit that people could do to each other, he had found the kelly's organ harvesting camp, he had seen what skye larson done to her mother, felt the pliers of albion's intelligence agents and faced sabine, nihilist and traitor.

orion's monsters were humans in all their selfish, opportunistic, self-serving, mongrel glory. he walked in the reality of human truth and behaviour, strange and unusual but real. but finley stevens walked in some other world, a world orion was only just beginning to scratch the surface of.

❝ oh no, i know. i'm a big fan of your work. ❞ orion said, beaming cheerily at the man while offering him a hand to shake. the seemingly normal greeting was somewhat stained by the fact that orion had broken into his hotel room and practically made himself at home at the kitchen table repairing his spiderbot.

'you say that, but think of all the cool dead people out there: freddie mercury, frida kahlo, kurt cobain. honestly, th'list goes on,' but he knows what she meant, and even though finley insists on making jokes, he's lucky to have someone who cared that he got shot. he watches nora patch up his wound, grinning as she grins, staying still so that he made this process less difficult than he normally would. 'hey - i'm good. we're both alive, and i call that a win. don't worry about me, alright? i can take a bullet like no one's business,' sure, his shoulder might be out of commission for a bit, but he didn't die. and neither did she. he'll call that a win.

she presses her lips together for a moment, trying for stern and failing almost immediately when confronted with his earnest expression. she has a soft spot for him that she knows is dangerous, that paints a target on his back. but she also knows he doesn't care about the danger. it only endears him to her more. nora huffs a laugh as she prepares a bandage, unable to fight her smile any longer. "yes, yes, you did look pretty cool. but you can't be cool if you're dead, so..."

'it's definitely a good thing for my channel,' which was, ultimately, the least important thing, but was somewhat important to finley. camera pans toward sophie as she speaks, catching that admission on video as fin gives her an i told you so look, despite not knowing the place was actually haunted until just now. 'c'mon, we've fought ghosts before. besides, maybe they're friendly. maybe they're casper's cousin. maybe -' he's interrupted by a chair sliding across the room and shattering against the wall. fin purses his lips. 'maybe we're gonna die. but we'll try not to,'

"I mean, the probability is a lot," it wasn't 100% percent to her, because they were in a supposedly haunted house, but she hadn't witnessed anything paranormal yet so her money had been on him. "Okay, okay, we'll go with it wasn't you. Which means this place really is haunted, which means we actually have a case. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing."

'good news - i'm great a decision making, so - paralysis be gone!' they complimented each other in so many ways, and finley continued to find reasons why they worked so well together. when she pulls away, the boy is quick to take her hand, leading them to the bedroom they had been sharing. fin had already packed up his things, ready to say goodbye to precy ( or, as ready as he could bring himself to be ), but now he focused on percy, sitting on the bed with his hands propping him up, debating what would be useful for her to bring. 'basically, you just need th'essentials - clothes, toothbrush, that kind've stuff,' they'd buy food along the way, stay in motels that fin could afford with the odd jobs he took while he was on the road. hazel eyes glance over the girl, admiring her, for a moment, before he spoke again, softer still. 'if there's anything special you wanna bring, we'll make room. sound good?'

she relaxes against him, rubbing her thumbs over his shoulder blades. the tenderness with which he handles her—both in words and actions—threatens another wave of tears, but percy manages to refrain. instead she just breathes in the scent of him, listens to his heartbeat, lets the world narrow to this pinpoint of a moment. "i love you too," she murmurs. he can say it as much as she wants; she'll never get tired of hearing that impossible truth. it's like getting struck with lightning every time. she lets herself linger in his arms for another moment, then reluctantly disentangles herself. "i know," percy says. but between her possessions and fin, she'll always choose fin. it's not a question. "i'm fine with leaving stuff, i just get, uh..." there's a term for it, but it takes her a second to remember. "decision paralysis? if there's too many choices, i get, like, freaked out, and then i can't pick anything at all."

'i'm so glad, because i would've been a little disappointed. on the inside, obviously, but - yeah,' finley can take rejection just as well as the next guy, but he would be lying if he wasn't eager to have busy's sister in his movie. when he says he thinks kitsey is perfect for the role, he means it. so much so that fin couldn't think of anyone else that he'd want for the part. having written and worked on this script for a few years, he had been reluctant to think about casting anyone ( fin didn't have a huge ego, but he knew this movie was going to be one of his best works ) ; then kitsey came to mind, and finley just... couldn't pick anyone else.

fin gives a small smile, listening to busy talk about the several roles she has decided to take on for her sister. 'well, you're obviously good at what you do. gotta respect th'jack of all trades, y'know?' fin flags down one of the servers, relaying his order ( black coffee, two sugars ) before ushering for busy to give her own. once done, fin leans back in his chair. he begins to remove his sunglasses, sees someone taking a picture of them on their phone, and promptly puts them back on again. 'before we start - gotta have you sign something saying you're not gonna steal my ideas, my script, whatever. you know how that goes,' fin pulls out the paperwork and passes it to busy. 'i trust you, but my lawyers don't trust anyone, so -' he ends with a shrug.

SHE APPRECIATES THE RESPECT THAT FINLEY HAS FOR HER TIME. Not a lot of people of his status would think much of somebody in her position. Clearly a product of nepotism, clearly at her sister's beck and call with little else to keep her occupied—who would treat Busy with dignity? She struggles to even do so with herself.

"I'm interested," she says, immediately wanting to make that apparent. Everyone in the industry wants to work with FInley; he's so hot right now, just on the right cusp between edgy and popular.

"I often play the role of agent along with the role of assistant," she says dryly. "Many hats, and all of that. "So you can pitch it to me, and it'll get into the right ears. — god, that sounds gross, kind of. You know what I mean."

'wow, you really are psychic,' the dry quip comes out of his mouth before finley can help it, and if they weren't in such a dire situation, he'd regret the way his words come out quicker than his brain can comprehend. as it stands, there really is something in here that doesn't want them to leave, and fin being a smartass wasn't going to help them fight it off, or even escape. 'sorry - i make jokes when i'm in danger. kind've my thing,' hunter shrugs, swinging the camera around the room, though it doesn't quite pick anything up, yet. 'i wouldn't blame you if you wanted t'leave. i kind've have to stick around, get some footage, but, uh... just sayin'. this is your out,'

'yeah, because that's not fuckin' confusing, at all,' face remains stony, the man standoffish from the woman finley was already far too aware of. he knows a lot more than he's supposed to, that's for damn sure. and more than he ever really wanted to know, too. whether or not he would admit that to her, though, was another story entirely. he'd been tested, just like she had. their torture may have been different, but the lesson remained the same. survivors came out with a new, albite still skewed, outlook on life. fin had decided to dig further into where john had come from, why he started doing this in the first place. hands slide into his pockets, feeling the knife there, his one good eye landing on amanda, no emotion portrayed in hazel depths. 'you really wanna talk about this here, or do you wanna go somewhere private?'

fin has green / hazel eyes, instead of blue.

fin is 1 - 2 inches taller than mr hader.

despite them both having dad bods, fin is chubbier in the mid section. he has the same muscular arms tho.

fin's hair is usually longer, and he always has some type of stubble, though not usually the full grown beard, unless he's spiraling and has been letting himself go.
