Blog 26: Wish list and Gantt chart
Here are my wish list:
. Scene design part (totally 2 secnes):
. Secene 1：The external environment and architecture of the altar （Blender 3D design)
. Scene 2 : Inside the altar (tomb of the high priest) (Photoshop 2D design)
(There are two scenes in total, one scene is made into a 3D scene using Blender, and the other scene is designed as a 2D concept painting using Photoshop)
. Characters design part (Photoshop 2D design）(totally 4 characters):
. Adventurer： Mr. Yang
. River monster
. High priest zombie
. Puppet Ghost
(All character designs and corresponding props and costumes are completed using Photoshop 2D drawing)
I plan to spend about 2 months designing two scenes starting from May 5th. The main scene, the altar part, will be made into a 3D scene using Blender, so it will take about 50 days to complete this 3D scene. In addition, I will spend 15 days to complete Scene 2 ( Photoshop 2D design). In the character part, I will spend one and a half months completing the four characters according to their primary to secondary roles ( Photoshop 2D design)

Blog 25 : Character desgin (2D) : puppet ghost
Inside the altar, senior monk zombies will manipulate several puppet ghosts to confront Mr. Yang. In Taoist culture, Taoists usually use straw and cotton to sculpt human figures for Taoist rituals. I hope these puppet ghosts are also made of cotton and straw, so I immediately thought of the scarecrows on Halloween because their images are very terrifying. Therefore, I want to design this puppet ghost character, combining the terrifying image of a scarecrow with the image of a Taoist zombie. They will wear tattered robes, revealing straw and cotton through the gaps in their bodies, giving off a strange and uneasy feeling. Their faces may be hollow, but they are full of an evil aura. The actions of these puppet ghosts will be clumsy and eerie, like ghosts from the depths of hell, adding more mystery and terror to the atmosphere inside the altar.
Their appearance could be tattered and worn, with vacant eyes and wisps of cotton and straw protruding from tears in their fabric. Mechanically manipulated yet imbued with an unsettling fluidity, these puppet ghosts would exude a malevolent presence reminiscent of creatures from the depths of hell. This design concept not only accentuates the mysterious ambiance within the altar but also infuses the scene with heightened tension and dread, immersing the audience in a palpable sense of threat and unease.

Blog 24 : Character desgin (2D): high priest zombie
The high priest zombie was a magician of the Tang Dynasty in China, who served the Tang Emperor. Due to his high magical power, after he dead, his ancient tomb building was also protected by his magic, making it difficult for people to find it and remaining intact for thousands of years without any destory. In this game plot, Mr. Yang needs to go inside the altar, and then the high priest zombies will immediately wake up and kill the invaders. Mr. Yang needs to use magic to defeat the high priest in order to obtain his treasure. This high priest has a terrifying image of a zombie, dressed in Taoist clothing and adorned with Taoist decorations
In addition, the high priest zombies need to carry magical tools, such as gossip shields and magic umbrellas. I believe this magic umbrella should be made of blades that can cause damage. I referred to the design of umbrellas in Zhang Yimou's movie "Shadow (2018)". These umbrellas are made up of blades, which may seem light and thin on the outside, but have strong killing power. This confusing prop can defeat one hundred, reflecting the spirit of using softness to overcome hardness in Taoist culture

Blog 23 : Character desgin (2D): river monster: Catfish Monster
In the game, the plot requires crossing a river first, and Mr. Yang will swim across the river. However, there is a terrifying catfish monster in this river, which will attack Mr. Yang.
This catfish monster has the characteristics of the Yangtze River catfish. Due to the fact that the catfish monster is a mutated catfish, it has some human characteristics similar to sharks. In addition, this cat fish monster holding a trident not only has a huge body but also demonstrates strong combat power. The combination of its catfish appearance and human
characteristics makes it a mysterious and terrifying character. The design of holding a trident makes it even more frightening, as if it were a warrior from the abyss, ready to fight for its territory at any time. This creative design not only enriches the character's image, but also adds to the tense atmosphere of the movie, bringing viewers a more exciting and thrilling visual experience.

Blog 22 : Character desgin (2D) : adventurer Mr. Yang
Mr. Yang is a retired Chinese soldier who is brave and decisive in his actions. However, he is very interested in Chinese Taoist culture and has learned the magic of Taoism skill since childhood. After retiring from the military, he joined China's archaeological department, specializing in researching supernatural ancient tombs and exploring them.
I hope this character can wear military uniforms because it can reduce damage, and he needs to carry many Taoism accessories such as magic Taoism mirrors and magic potions along with the sound. In addition, he not only needs to carry a gun, but also a wand, so that he can defeat monsters such as the high priest zombies and river monsters.

Blog 21: Scene design:Architectural concept details reference
Following the style of concept artist Rouju, I found that the palace and residential architecture design in the animated movie "Raya and the Last Dragon (2021)" also has such a magical style, because these buildings are in Asian style, combining styles from China, Thailand, and other places. Visual Anthropologist: Dr Steve Aroussack and concept artist Ryan Lang jointly created the concept design for this animated movie.
I like the concept designer in this animated movie because the buildings are also elongated and deformed by the concept artist. This interesting and exaggerated design fills the movie with a mysterious and supernatural atmosphere, with strong ethnic characteristics.
I think the altar I want to design can also adopt this style. By elongating and twisting buildings, I can create a place full of magic and supernatural atmosphere, making people feel like they are in another world. This unique design not only highlights the sacredness and solemnity of the altar, but also brings a stunning and stunning visual experience to people. Blog 20 : Scene design: architectural conept details reference
The main building is the tomb of the high priest, and I hope to design it as a magical altar. The tomb of the high priest is located inside the altar. In order to gain inspiration, I started searching for reference materials about Chinese altars. During this process, I discovered Artsat, a treasure trove of websites that collect works from artists and designers from around the world. These works are not only breathtaking, but also provide endless inspiration for my design.
In these references, I have discovered many unique ideas about altar design, from gorgeous decorations to mysterious atmospheres, all of which are fascinating. By drawing inspiration from these works, I hope to create an amazing place where people can feel mystery and solemnity. This altar is not only a cemetery, but also a symbol representing the authority and mysterious power of the high priest. I will strive to ensure that the design accurately reflects these meanings, making it a place of admiration and awe for people

Blog 19 : Scene design: topographic map
The idea about the terrain plan of the ancient tomb of the high priest, as it is an ancient tomb from the Tang Dynasty, where people worshipped Buddhism and Taoism. So I collected some Tang Dynasty tombs as well as symbols of Buddhism and Taoism
Considering that this ancient tomb belongs to the Tang Dynasty, an era that integrates Buddhist and Taoist beliefs, I began to plan the terrain of the ancient high priest cemetery. I have conducted in-depth research on the tomb structure of the Tang Dynasty, as well as the symbolic significance of Buddhism and Taoism. During this process, I collected a large amount of information about Tang Dynasty tombs, including information on tomb chamber structure, tombstone carving, and cemetery layout. I have found that Tang Dynasty tombs often reflect people's longing for a better afterlife, as well as the religious beliefs and cultural landscape of that time.
After collecting a large number of symbols and symbols about Buddhism and Taoism, I began to think about how to integrate these elements into the design of high priest cemeteries. The symbols of Buddhism and Taoism often have profound connotations and symbolic meanings, representing people's pursuit of wisdom, tranquility, mystery, and supernatural power. By cleverly incorporating these symbols into the terrain planning of the cemetery, I hope to give it a deeper meaning and allow people to feel the solemnity and mystery of religion and culture when visiting.

Blog 14 : Introduction and story think
I love the TV and movie series "Ghost Blows Out the Light" very much, especially the scene and character designs inside are full of traditional Chinese supernatural elements. Therefore, I want to conceive a game plot about supernatural exploration and adventure, and then fabricate and design the relevant scenes and characters.
Plot: Magic Treasure Adventure
In 1990, in China, the Chinese archaeological department discovered a large Tang Dynasty high priest tomb which in the deep Qinling Mountains . Surprisingly, this tomb has gone through thousands of years but has not been destroyed. The archaeological department believed that it was a supernatural magic protecting this ancient tomb, so they sent Mr. Yang, who knows magic and has experience, to explore this magiac treature.
In this game plot, if you are Mr. Yang, you will start the game at the vicinity of high priest’s ancient tomb. You will across the jungle, streams, and then climb the hills to obtain magical treasures from the tomb of the high priest. In this game, you need to defeat the river monsters, defeat the high priest zombies and ghost puppets, and then obtain the magical treasure.
Because I am studying concept art,so I mainly do some 2D concept art design, like 2D conceptual character and scene design painting，I will also challenge myself and choose one scene and use Blender to create a 3D scene model

Blog 13 :Introduction and ideas
My initial idea came from the Chinese supernatural adventure novel "Ghost Blows Out the Light" (2006), which is very famous in China and has even been adapted into TV dramas and movies. The background of this novel was arranged by the author in China in 1980, the series follows former Soldier Hu Bayi and his partner as they raid Tombs in search of values The two teams up with an American archeologist after they fall victim to a current, and to release them from it they must seek clubs found among any mycological sit es across China (Zhu, 2011).

I have added my character design to our group's discussion group Mirro, hoping it will be helpful to other classmates in charge of game design in our group：
Our group's setting draws inspiration from some of the story spirits of the movie Dune, such as setting three main characters: Kamar, Shams, and the High Priest. Even in a surreal world, they still wear traditional costumes that represent religious beliefs and are full of mystical colors. Blog 11: About some personality tests in our group
Berbin As a website that tests the character of the team and serves as a guide to analyzing how these characters develop, change, and interact with other team characters, since this is my first Belbin test, I chose teamworker and coordinator as the best roles for me. The results show that I tend to coordinate the work of more departments. Although I may not always make good suggestions and ideas in teamwork, I can carefully listen to others ‘ideas and then think about my own opinions according to others’ ideas. This is also reflected in the team I hope everyone can get along well, do not want to appear disharmony. In addition, in the team, I also like to obey the instructions of leaders, and I am not willing to oppose the instructions of leaders, so it also reflects my inclusive and optimistic attitude
In addition, I also took part in Humanmetrics Jung Typology test, this test shows that my personality is more introverted, but under my introverted personality is hidden passionate personality. When dealing with problems, I personally more emotional rather than rational, but I am not very good at expression, so when emotional repression to a certain extent, I will suddenly vent out to others. In conclusion，this test also reminds me in the team to try to actively communicate with others.

Blog 10: The Conceptual Design of the Kamar

Based on the materials I searched for above, I drew inspiration from Kenneth Solis's style of drawing Arabic men's clothing, so I also tried to add details of Arabic characteristics to the character Kamar, such as Arabic clothing, knives, decorations, etc:
I plan to draw a simple background for Kamar. I think there are many Phoenician statues in the Temple of the Sun, and combined with the storyline that our group came up with, This background can highlight the mystery of the temple：
Then, I want this background change to be mysterious and in line with the plot discussed in our group Kamar will be surrounded by the flames of the high priest. Therefore, I added a blue flame behind the background to make it more mysterious:
