How do I wash my halo hair extensions?
Hottie Hair extensions are made with 100% real remy human hair, which implies they can be washed and styled simply like your own common hair. Since Hottie Hair extensions don't get oils from the scalp like regular hair does, nonetheless, they should not be washed as frequently, as they won't get sleek or oily like common hair. We prescribe to just wash your Hottie Hair each 15-20 wears or just when there is a great deal of product to the point where they become unmanageable to style. Watch the video underneath for full directions on the most proficient method to wash to appropriately wash your Hottie Hair, or look down for well ordered guidelines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUK4M8qoVg4 YOU WILL NEED… - A sink which can be stopped - Shampoo (Alcohol / sulfate-free) - Deep Conditioner (Alcohol / sulfate-free) - Hair oil - A wide tooth comb, loop brush or wet brush
WHY ALCOHOL/SULFATE-FREE SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER?
Some hair items are stacked with alcohols and sulfates, which are incredibly drying on the hair. Since hair extensions don't get normal oils from the scalp, they are now dry essentially, and it is ideal to safeguard dampness in the hair however much as could reasonably be expected. This will guarantee that the extensions look sound and delectable, instead of dry and dull. You can likewise utilize a cleanser and conditioner explicitly intended for shaded treated hair or for hair extensions. Stage 1: Brush your extensions Have you at any point scrubbed down, developed with wet, tangled hair and need to wrestle to detangle it? Brushing your hair before showering will keep this, and hair extensions are the same. Prior to washing your extensions, give them a decent brush with a wide tooth brush or oar brush from base to top, tenderly removing any bunches and tangles in the hair. At that point, place every weft flawlessly over one another like when you initially get them, to keep them tangle free during the washing procedure. Stage 2: Prepare your sink Guarantee your sink is squeaky clean to abstain from existing earth transferring to the extensions. At that point, plug the drain and begin to top it off with tepid water – we don't need the water to be excessively hot or excessively cold. Siphon 2-3 touches of cleanser into the water, and wash the item around in the water so it's pleasant and foamy. Stage 3: Shampoo every weft We prescribe to wash your hair extensions one weft at any given moment (halo wefts can be gathered into one pack). This will guarantee that every weft gets washed completely without the set tangling. On the off chance that you are short on schedule, notwithstanding, you can package the extensions with a versatile and wash everything cautiously in one go. Hold the weft is one hand at the top, submerge it into the water, and tenderly wash the hair, working the cleanser in with light strokes. Be exceptionally mindful so as to not tangle the hair. When you have washed the weft with cleanser, put it aside perfectly on a towel and rehash similar strides for the remainder of the wefts. Stage 4: Deep condition every weft When every one of the wefts have been shampooed, it's an ideal opportunity to condition them. This is a critical advance, as it guarantees that your extensions remain saturated, sustained, and delicate. We prescribe to utilize a profound conditioner for this progression, to truly enter the hair shaft. Take a liberal measure of conditioner and apply onto every weft through and through, massaging the item completely into the hair. In request for the item to truly absorb and do something amazing, we prescribe to abandon it on medium-term. Pack your extensions and cautiously curl them and spot them in a shower top to leave medium-term. This will seal in the dampness for the duration of the night. Stage 5: Rinse out every weft The following morning, altogether rinse out every weft, ensuring that there is no conditioner buildup left on the hair. A typical oversight is to just wash the hair midway, leaving it with "the slip"– that elusive, delicate feeling subsequent to conditioning. This is a no-no, as it really leaves item on the hair, which overloads it or makes it look oily when dry. When washing out every weft, rinse it again with virus water, which will help close the fingernail skin of the hair to seal in the dampness and make the extensions increasingly shiny. This is an incredible trap to attempt with your regular hair too for that additional gleam and shine! Stage 6: Lay every weft out to air dry We prescribe to air dry your hair extensions instead of utilization heat, as the hair does not get revived at the scalp, and using high warmth can hurt the extensions in the long run. Prior to setting up your extensions to dry, make sure that the hair is totally wrung of water. At that point, spread out the majority of your wefts independently on a towel over a level surface. A trap to preventing any frizz once the hair is dry is to apply a little measure of hair oil to every weft to guarantee the hair remains reasonable and satiny. Stage 7: Comb every weft We as a rule prescribe not to search over wet hair as it is progressively flexible and can break effectively, be that as it may, in request to guarantee that your extensions dry straight with next to zero tangles, we prescribe to delicately brush through every weft with a wide tooth brush from base to top. What's more, that is it! Leave the wefts to dry, and tell the truth smooth, hair extensions, prepared to install halo extensions into your hair.

What temperature can remy hair extensions be styled at? Does heat damage the base of the wefts?
When styling your remy hair extensions with hot tools, we propose placing your device at 120C/250F tiers or lower. Anything higher puts you in danger of harming the hair, similarly as with some different halo extensions. These sets are different from your own natural hair because they do not receive the hair oils that keep your hair moist and in good shape and after some time unnecessary warmth and high temperatures may wear down your set. These extensions are truly high quality and really do not need to be styled with a high temperature and will very easy style at a lower one as recommended. Thus preserving them and helping them last much much longer. We do recommend if you have a heat protectant spray to use it as well. What is the difference between Halo & Clipo hair extensions?
You may or may not be familiar with halo hair extensions and are probably are new to the concept of a Clipo. We would love to help you get to know these two amazing types of hair extensions. The halo first came about because many women were struggling to put 7 to 10 pieces of clip in hair extensions into their head everyday. Also women were noticing when they wore clips ins allot their hair was still subject to damage where the clips attach. Thus the one piece halo on a wire came about where you could add volume to your hair fast without out any damaging side effects of prolonged use. However we still had many clients who love the full coverage that a set of clip ins offer but they want an easier way then using the traditional 7-10 pieces. After much thought Hottie Hair founder CryStyle designed the Clipo a 3 piece combination set that could be worn as a 3 piece clip in set or a 1 piece halo and 2 piece clip in set. This gave both clip in lovers and halo lovers the option to get full coverage with less pieces to install. Both options are still loved and can give you a much easier and safer choice for your hair.

The halo hair extension is a newer type that has taken the industry by storm in the temporary hair extension category. It has gained tremendous popularity in the last decade. Now you have heard about the halo but you may have not seen one in person. You might be wondering how does it work? What is this new type of hair extension on a wire? How does it stay on? Is it right for me? In This Article We Will Go Over Everything You Need To Know About The Halo Extension: - What is the Halo Hair Extension exactly? - How does the Halo Hair Extension work? - How does Halo differ from other types of hair extensions? - How does a halo stay on? Can it fall off? - Should you get a Halo? Will it work for me?
What Is The Halo Hair Extension?
The halo hair extension is the newest type of hair extension that does not attach to your own hair. Instead it makes use of your heads natural shape and sits comfortably on your head like a crown with a hidden wire. However, your own natural hair will sit on top of the halo firmly holding it in place. This is in contrast to most all other hair extension types that attach to your actual hair in some way.
How Do You Wear A Halo Hairpiece?
In this video we will demonstrate how to wear a halo hairpiece: https://youtu.be/kE6XaIlvi_Y
How Is The Halo Different From Other Hair Extension Types?
There are two main categories of hair extensions. The first is temporary hair extensions or the do it yourself category. The second is permanent hair extensions or the professionally installed category. The halo falls into the first category and is significantly different in that it does not actually attach to your own physical hair. Here is a brief explanation of how some popular types attach to your physical hair. For the most part, the name of each type generally gives you an idea of how they work. Temporary Hair Extensions: - Clip In: Generally attaches to your hair with many small comb like clips that snap into place in many spots all over your head. - Ponytail: Generally attach to your hair after you have put your natural hair into a ponytail. Can be attached in many ways from a claw style clip to wrapping the hair around your ponytail and the use of bobby pins or ribbon to hold it in place. - Halo: Generally sits on the crown of your head with the main hair piece on the back of your head and the wire on the front of your hair about and inch or two from your hairline. It is gently wedged underneath your natural hair. Thus hiding the wire and hair piece under your natural hair. Permanent Hair Extensions: - Micro Bead: Generally attaches to your hair by threading your hair and the extension hair into a metal silicone lined micro bead and crimping the bead in place with pliers. - Tape In: Generally attaches to your hair by sandwiching your own hair between two 1.5 inch wide pieces of hair that have medical grade tape at the top of each piece in many spots all over your head. - Sew In: Generally sections of your natural hair is micro braided. Then weft pieces in various widths are hand sewn with thread and needle to the micro braids. - Fusion: Generally are bonded to your hair with a keratin glue to hundreds of spots on your head. While there are others types this is sufficient to show you how vastly different the halo extension is from other types of hair extensions. You can see why this type of hair extension has grown tremendously in popularity. In the fact that they do not attach to your own physical hair vs most other types. This gives them tremendous advantages in the category of safety to your own natural hair as well as speed of install.
What Advantages Does The Halo Extension Have Compared To Other Hair Extension Types?
As stated above they have two primary advantages over other hair extension types. The first being safety to your own natural hair. The second is speed of install. The third advantage is comfort. 1. Does The Halo Extension Damage Your Hair? They do not damage your hair at all. They do not attach to your natural hair. This means that they can not damage your hair in any way. This is in stark contrast to all other hair extension types that require attachment to your natural hair in some type of way. 2. How Do you Install The Halo? They are installed in most cases 30 seconds or less. This is extremely fast in comparison to most other types of hair extensions that require 30 minutes to many hours. 3. Do Halo Hair Extensions Hurt & Is it Comfortable? The halo does not hurt and is extremely comfortable to wear. The best way to describe the comfort of the halo is it feels much like wearing a hat. You can wear the halo all day and take it off in a quick second just like a hat. They are extremely comfortable in comparison to other types where you can feel the various attachment mechanisms in your hair. Some other types are actually quite painful. How Is The Halo Compared To Other Types In Safety, Install Speed and Comfort? They fall in the temporary hair extensions category and can be best compared to clip in hair extensions. Second, we will compare them to permanent hair extensions such as Micro-Bead, Tapes-In, Sew-In and Fusion hair extensions. The Halo Compared To The Clip In Hair Extension: - 1. Safety: The Clip In hair extension is attached to your hair with small comb like clips. They snap into place on your natural hair, that has been teased in order for it grip to your hair and stay in place. Each time your remove and install the Clip In some of your natural hair can be caught in the small combs and can come out with your hair. Over time of removing and reinstalling daily can result in damage to some of your natural hair. Styling the Clip In should also be done carefully as they are now attached to teased spots of your hair. This means brushing, should be done with great care in order to avoid tugging on the attached spots of your natural hair. - 2. Install Speed: The Clip In hair extension usually comes in anywhere from seven to eleven weft pieces varying in width. Each of the wider pieces have anywhere from two to five clips on them. In order to install each piece you must create a parting section and tease each spot that the clips will be attached to. This can take upwards of thirty plus minutes to install a full set. Removing can also take upwards of five minutes. - 3. Comfort: The Clip In hair extensions use metal comb clips to attach to your head. You will feel each spot that a clip is attached to your head and the weight of the hair on your natural hair. Wearing Clip Ins for many hours can start to feel uncomfortable. - 4. Advantages: The Clip In hair extensions mainly come in sets of seven to eleven pieces. This means you have a lot of freedom in where you can place each piece of weft hair. Giving your tremendous versatility in placement. This is in contrast to halo extensions in which you generally place one much larger wide piece of weft hair that wraps around the back of your head to the sides. The Halo Compared To The Micro Bead Hair Extension: - Safety: The Microbead hair extensions are attached typically with a metal silicone lined hair extension bead. They can be threaded on individual strands of your natural hair such as I-Tips in hundreds of spots. The main safety concern with them is that they are prone to spinning around as they are attached to much smaller sections of your natural hair. Spinning can damage your hair. Styling is similar to Clip Ins as they are attached to hundreds of spots of very small sections of your hair brushing and washing must be done with great care. Sleeping requires braiding to avoid tangling or spinning. They can also be threaded with your natural hair and attached using wider weft pieces similar to the size of Clip In wefts. These require much less attachment spots and are not prone to spinning. However, styling, washing and sleeping require the same extra care. - Install Speed & Cost: The Micro bead hair extensions must be installed be a skilled and experienced professional. This can take upwards of forty five minutes to many hours. Skilled professionals are not cheap and the quality of hair must also be much higher which adds considerable cost. Professional hair is usually ordered and will take some shipping time and another appointment before it can be installed. As your hair grows in they are required to be removed and reinstalled every four to ten weeks by a skilled professional. New hair depending on the quality will need to be purchased at minimum every three months and at maximum every year plus. - Comfort: The Microbead individual extensions are not comfortable. Hundred of millimeter wide strands and beads are attached to your natural head. While the beads are flat to your head you can guess that sleeping and wearing them daily can be uncomfortable. Beaded weft hair extensions are much more comfortable as they have much less attachment points and lay very flat to your head. However there is no nightly relief as they are attached in a very secure manner to your natural hair. - Advantages: The Beaded hair extensions do not need to be removed each night. Customizing placement gives you tremendous versatility. Salon visits gives you tremendous options in custom coloring your hair with the extensions. The Halo Compared To The Tape In Hair Extension: The Tape In hair extensions are very similar to micro bead weft hair extensions. The difference is the attachment is with a medical grade taped hair that gets sandwiched over 1.5 in wide thin sections of your natural hair. Considered very comfortable and are by far the most popular type for permanent hair extensions today. The Halo Compared To The Sew In Hair Extension: The Sew In hair extensions are very similar to micro bead weft hair extensions. Except for the fact that is takes considerably more time to micro braid your natural hair and then hand sew the custom width weft pieces to your natural hair. It is also much less comfortable as you feel the tight braids in your hair. The Halo Compared To The Fusion Hair Extension: The Fusion hair extensions are very similar to individual micro bead hair extensions. Except for the fact that they are attached with a keratin type glue. This means in general they are not reusable and new hair must be purchased every few months. Some still prefer this type as you can create even small attachments than I-Tips which can create and incredibly natural look. However you can add a considerable amount of time to install and removal process in comparison to all other extensions.

How do you take out Tape In extensions and reinstall?
Removing Tape In hair extensions is quick and easy in comparison to traditional methods like fusion. It is best done by an experienced professional hair stylist. It does take extra care and know how in order to avoid damaging your own natural hair. Removals, installations, and move-ups are best performed by a licensed experienced extension specialist. How often should I remove and reinstall my them? Your hair extensions should be removed and reinstalled every six to ten weeks. Consult with your hairstylist and pre book your appointment in advance if possible. While it is easier than traditional methods it does still take time to complete the whole process. To complete the whole process can take anywhere from two and a half to three hours. If time is an issue consider splitting it up into two appoints. First removal and then reinstallation. This can be a nice break for your natural hair as well. What ever you decide it is important that the Tape-In reinstallation is thorough. Any skipped steps can result in slippage. A good experienced stylist will not take shortcuts and will often use an assistant to help along the whole process. What type of Tape-In remover should be used? It is best to use a professionally designed oil based Tape-In extensions remover such as extension release. Your stylist will start by applying a good amount on each tape-in bond. As the product works its way into the bond it will disintegrate the adhesive that holds the tape in place. Once the bond has loosened your stylist may use a rat tail comb to separate the tabs. If they don't easily separate they will apply a bit more remover between the bond. Once the tapes are moved they will go back through your hair and remove any left behind tape residue. They may use additional remover solution to help comb it out. How to wash your hair and the hair extensions properly for reinstallation? This step is very important in order to avoid slippage. Your natural hair and the extension hair must be washed with a clarifying shampoo before reinstallation. Washing Your Hair Your stylist will wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo once. Any residue still found in your hair they may apply something such as baking soda where the tabs were to help break down the adhesive and wash a second time. They may also condition your hair from the mid shaft down avoiding your roots to help your hair be more manageable in the re-installation process. Washing the Extension Hair Your stylist will wash the extension hair with a clarifying shampoo. They may also mix a product such as baking soda as well to remove adhesive residue.  Replacing the Tape While avoiding the touch of finger oils or other products a stylist will peel replacement tape off a plastic card touching the edge at most. They will then apply the tape firmly to the top of each tab. Re-installation Finally a stylist will reinstall each tape bond into your natural hair. How are Tape In Hair Extensions different from other hair extension methods?
One of the biggest differences from all other professional hair extensions is that installation is fast. Part of the reason is Tape Ins are the only method that no tools are needed to install them. This cuts the time down considerably as there is no threading and crimping of beads with pliers. There is no using a hot tool to melt glue or needle and thread to hand sew in. Hair styles are always changing so the ease of install and removal allows you quickly change yours style. This was not always so easy to do with traditional methods like sew in or glue ins that can take a full day out of your schedule. Plus methods like sew ins can look bulky as they micro braid tracks in your hair and then sew the weft to the braided tracks. In many cases the installer will double or triple the weft adding bulk on top of the braids. Tape Ins are known to give you a flat sleek look that blends far better with your natural hair as the base of the tape wefts are very thin. Tape In extensions have truly revolutionized the hair market in comparison to traditional methods. What are Tape In Hair Extensions?
Tape In extensions are the newest hair extension method on the market. Tape In Hair extensions are thin tape wefts, generally 1.5 inch wide pre-taped hair wefts, that get “taped-in” in between your own hair in “sandwich” like bonds.  It is the most requested professional hair extension method in salons worldwide. This method is 100% natural, requires no tools or chemicals, and lasts up to three months-and the hair is reusable! It takes less than an hour to apply an entire head with zero damage. Let’s jump into some of the amazing benefits of wearing them. They are by far the most comfortable hair extensions ever. No, seriously. They look incredibly natural and lay perfectly slim and flat against your head. That is saying a lot if you have any experience with other methods like Clip Ins or traditional individual permanent hair extensions. This really matters when you are wearing them all day every day for months at a time. Not only that, say goodbye to hours and hours of installation time. If you have any experience at all with traditional extensions this is life changing. This will be the most pain free, hassle free, time saving install you have ever done. Installs as fast as 30 minutes and many times no longer than an hour. Tape Ins have changed the game with super easy removals too. Traditional extensions were often glued in with hundreds of rock hard individual strands. You can imagine the process for taking them out was just as crazy or worse than putting them in. Unlike traditional glue ins you can actually reuse the hair. Placement options are super versatile and your hair can even be worn in a high ponytail all while looking incredibly natural. Thin or fine hair? No problem. Single sided tapes give you the option to install less hair than the standard double sided Tape Ins. So let’s see: fast install, crazy comfortable, easy to remove, reusable, pain free, super versatile for all hair types. It’s clear why Tape Ins have risen straight to the top of the hair extension world. Did we miss anything?! Yes! Easy to care for at home too! They are installed typically in 1.5 inch wide wefts throughout your hair. A typical install has about 20ish complete bonds instead of the traditional hundreds. This means less tiny points of contact, better anchoring to your natural hair. What does that all mean. Your far less likely to do any damage to your hair while wearing Tape Ins and makes them far easier to take care of at home. I personally have thin fine textured hair and they hide well, while still giving me extra volume. I have been wearing them for many years now and couldn’t imagine my life without them. With my hair type/texture I really struggle to grow the kind of hair that only extensions can easily and safely give me. I love it, the few times I take them out it is like I lost my disney magical hair. The struggle is very real! In this video we will demonstrate how this all actually works: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kg-0zuMli_U You may also be interested in: - What Are Tape In Hair Extensions and How Are They Are Different? - How are Tape In Hair Extensions different from other hair extension methods? - How do you take care of Tape In hair extensions? - How do you take out Tape In extensions and reinstall? - What is the best brand of Tape In hair extensions to try and why? Do Hair Extensions Damage Your Real Hair?
The short answer is no, they do not damage your real hair with proper install, at home maintenance and professional routine on time removal and move ups. With millions wearing them every year you are bound to hear stories where mishaps have happened due to not following proper maintenance procedures. We even have some of our own. However, over the years there has been dramatic improvements in methods and education.
What Can Cause Hair Damage?
Tumblr media
When it comes to attaching hair extensions to your real hair you may have some concerns in weather they will damage your real hair. I personally have thin hair that I struggle to grow past my collar bone. I originally had this same fear. I began my career as a hairstylist in the year 2000. Throughout the first ten years I had clients come into my chair that had a popular method of the time called glue ins. I personally was a witness to damage that turned me off. I am a very big advocate of healthy hair and I just could not recommend what I was seeing. However, the demand for hair extensions was not going away and was growing like crazy. All the big celebrities were wearing them and my clients were demanding them. I decided I needed to find the very best methods that would not damage your real hair. At the time Tape In hair extensions were just hitting the market and those advocating them said they would not cause damage. I was sceptical but I needed to see for myself. However, I quickly grew into a believer. Fast forward ten years later and Tape Ins have climbed to the most popular method. After using them myself and on our clients for ten years I can tell you that these are safe from damaging the real hair on any client that has healthy hair. How to avoid damage? Now the key when attaching anything to your real hair to avoid damage is going to be using high quality hair, preferably healthy Russian Virgin or Russian Remy hair. This hair is going to brush easier and blend better with your natural hair. The healthier the hair is, the easier it will be to maintenance. Most hair sold is processed black color hair which never acts the same and can cause you a lot of additional maintenance at home. This is because 84% of the world has black hair making it the most readily available. However, the way they collect most black hair is improper which even complicates the matter further. Meaning most factories remove the cuticle which completely damages the hair. This is what causes tangling and matting. On top of that they bleach the hair causing it to dry out. This is why many stylists will tell you to douse it in argon oil. The only way to truly avoid these types of problems is by using slightly higher cost Russian hair which is far more rare and every natural color is available, thus avoiding any kind of processing. Who Should Avoid Getting Hair Extensions? Having said that, there are a very tiny percentage of clients who should avoid wearing hair extensions for damage reasons but there is a solution for you. If you are experiencing alopecia or any kind of medical related hair loss, we strongly suggest to consult your healthcare professional for advice on whether wearing hair extensions is right for you. The best solution if they are not right for you will be to look into wig options.
Why maintenance is important? How to take care of hair extensions?
Tumblr media
The best way to avoid damage to your real hair is by following proper maintenance procedures. Every extension type has some maintenance requirements that you should follow in order to care for your natural hair healthy and beautiful. Let's talk about some basic care rules to follow for any type to prevent tangling and breakage. We will go over brushing, washing and sleeping. The first rule to keep your hair healthy is using an extension safe brush a few times a day. What is the best type of brush to use? The very best type of brush to use is one that has a gentle soft bristle. The most popular and recommended is a detangling brush. We make one that is safe on wet or dry hair. How often should you brush your hair extensions? It is recommended to brush three times a day. Always brush after showering or swimming. The best way to start is from the bottom and work your way towards the top. Hold your roots in one hand to prevent tension damage, while brushing with the other. The second rule to keeping your hair healthy is proper washing. Should I wash my hair more, less, or the same amount as I did without extensions? It is recommended to wash professionally installed extensions two or three times per week. This will help your hair last longer. Your head produces natural oils that help to keep your hair soft and healthy. Washing less keeps these oils in your hair, naturally lubricating them. Washing less also means less heat on your hair from a blow dryer. It is best to limit the use of any tool that heats your hair and dries it. Heat is the biggest enemy to healthy hair. Always use a heat protecting spray when possible. For temporary extensions it is recommended to wash every 15-20 uses and air dry them. What types of shampoos and conditioners can I use for my hair in the shower? What ingredients should I avoid? Use sulfate free shampoos. They may not lather as much but they help to keep your natural oils in your hair which ultimately keeps your hair moisturized and healthy. Other products and ingredients to avoid near your bonds are the ones that contain alcohol or oils as they can break down the bonds and cause them to slip out. If you're not sure use conditioner below the bonds to your ends. Be gentle when washing and avoid tension to your bonds. What about when I am finished washing? When finished washing gently squeeze the water out of your hair. Avoid towel drying if possible, however you can wrap your head in a towel. Is it ok to air dry? Yes, air drying is preferred when possible. However, you should use a wet brush to remove any tangles. The third rule to follow is for your sleeping routine. How should I sleep with hair extensions? The first thing to do before sleeping is to brush your extensions. This will remove any tangles. Next is to put your hair in a loose braid. This will keep your hair from tangling while you sleep. You can also use a satin or silk pillowcase to reduce any friction on your hair while sleeping. Final rule for professional installations is salon maintenance. How often should I visit the salon for maintenance move ups? Life moves quickly and schedules fill up for you and your stylist. It is recommended to schedule your maintenance move ups before you leave your installation appointment. Typically this will be every four to twelve weeks depending on the method you get. Your stylist will know exactly when you should come back in. Just do not go longer than the recommended time so as to avoid matting from the regrowth hair.
What are the safest hair extensions?
Tumblr media
The safest for professional extensions are Tape In and beaded weft. Both of these types have wider and less anchor points. They are not subject to spinning tension like individual methods. For ready-to-wear temporaries the safest is the halo style. These do not anchor to your natural hair at all. Clip In is next, you will just need to take more care as it does anchor to your hair. Do hair extensions cause headaches? It can take some getting used to having permanent hair extensions attached to your head. If something is not quite feeling right you may need to adjust them to be comfortable. We have found that if they are installed correctly they will not cause headaches. With temporaries they are fairly quick to take in and out we do not recommend to sleep with them in. When possible install less hair. This will make maintaining the added hair easier and it will be less likely to cause stress to your hair or tangling and will improve the overall comfort of wearing them. For most clients around 100 to 125 grams of hair is enough for a full head. You may see bundled sets thicker, however we have found that 9 out of 10 times you do not need it. The most is usually 150 grams. Less is more for saving yourself from potential headaches and additional unnecessary maintenance issues.
Common Hair Extensions Mistakes To Avoid
Tumblr media
- #1. Low Quality Hair - Many salons still have trouble getting high quality hair and mainly source over-processed originally black colored hair. This is why we source the best unprocessed Russian Hair in the world that will last a long time and not give you problems. - #2.  Not good colour matching. A good colour & hair extensions specialist will make sure everything matches well. Usually if the hair is within a shade or two it will blend with your hair color. Using more than one color is also a common practice to help them blend with your hair. - #3. Tell tell sign you wear extension, strands too big for a small section of your hair. The density of hair should match your hair density. Tape In panels are thin and flat and are a great way to match density for any hair type. Individuals are better for clients with thicker hair. - #4. Hair extensions not cut and blended in properly to create a new hairstyle. Less experienced salons and stylists will just leave the extensions as is, however when adding hair they need to match your hair and cut to look natural. Don’t worry your only paired with a very experienced specialist with us. - #5. No advice given for aftercare. Most salons that do not specialize will not guide you through how to take care of your new hair extensions. Basic routines routines like braiding the hair in a low ponytail at night, can save damage to your hair & help the extensions last longer, avoid matting and prevent breakage.

Which Hair Quality and Brand of Hair Extensions Is Best?
What is the best quality of extension hair?
Finding the best quality and brand of extension hair near me is not an easy task. If you have ever purchased or worn hair extensions in Las Vegas before you will quickly find out that not all extensions are created equal. It really helps to understand where the majority of hair comes from, how it is collected and how it is processed. Where does the hair come from? 84% of the world population has black hair. This means most hair comes from places like India and Asia. While this quality is ok for most temporary hair extensions, the best quality for permanent hair is collected from Russia where you can get real blonds, browns and matching textures of black hair. How is the majority of hair collected and processed? Most hair is collected from hair that has been cut and fallen to the ground, similar to how you see in your local hair salons or barber shops. For extensions this is a big problem as the hair must remain in the same direction in order to not tangle when installed in your hair. This is because hair cuticles are designed to go one direction. When hair is collected from the ground the direction of the cuticles get all mixed up. Manufactures will use harsh chemicals to remove the outside cuticle and coat it in a silicone product so they feel smooth and shiny when you purchase them. However, the silicon will soon wash off and your left with the damaged hair underneath it which will tangle. To complicate matters even more they will further damaged the hair when the color is changed to lighter colors with bleach type products What is the best way to collect quality hair?
Tumblr media
The best way to collect quality hair is to put it in a ponytail, then cut it. This keeps the cuticles in the same direction. The amount of hair collected this way is less than 1%. However, collecting black hair this way still means it needs to go through a bleach type processing  to change its color. No matter how gentle, it will cause damage to the hair and lessen the quality greatly and how long it will last. The best hair to collect is Russian ponytail hair. This is even far less at less than .01% of hair. This hair does not require any harsh chemicals thus keeping the integrity of the hair in the best condition.
What brand of extension hair is the best?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The reality is that the majority of brands use hair that is collected from the ground. The best brands in the world specialize in correctly collected Russian hair. The majority of hair salons and hair stylists use brands that process correctly collected bleach color changed black hair. This kind of hair is a good goto but it will not ever be as good of an experience as correctly collected Russian hair. The Las Vegas Hottie Hair Extensions brand specializes in the best correctly collected Russian hair. While we also stock correctly collected processed black hair as a budget friendly option. Which Extension Type To Get
With so many different types of hair extensions in Las Vegas available it can be hard to know what to choose. The type you choose will largely depend on your lifestyle, hair texture and budget. There are really two main categories of hair extensions. The permanent type that require professional installation in a hair salon and the temporary type that you can do it yourself at home. We will talk about some of the pros and cons of each.
Permanent Type (Installed in a hair salon by a professional)
What are the pros? - By getting them installed at a hair salon near me, you can have them perfectly customized to your hair. - In a hair salon they can custom color them and your hair to whatever your heart desires. - With types like Tapes Ins hair extensions the panels lay perfectly flat appearing seamless and very comfortable. - With methods like Tapes or Beaded Weft the installation is very fast under an hour in most cases. - You save time compared to some temporary types like clips ins that take as much as 30 minutes to install each day. - Methods like Tapes In are great for thin hair. What are the cons? - Installation by a professional does add to the upfront cost. However, this can be offset by time saved each day of not having to install them yourself like temporaries. - A higher quality of hair is required which can add to the upfront cost. - You will have additional hair to wash and blowdry with your hair. - You will need to keep your hair brushed during the day and braided for sleeping.
Temporary Type (Installed at home by yourself )
What are the pros? - You can install them by yourself at home. - Most temporaries are budget friendly as they do not require as high quality of hair or professional install. What are the cons? - To customize them you will need to go to a hair salon. - You are required to remove them each night and reinstall the next day for daily wear. - The most popular temporaries like Clips In hair extensions can take upwards of 30 minutes to install and 5 minutes to remove daily. - Taking Clip Ins in and out daily can add wear to the attached spots of your natural hair. - Methods like Clip Ins are not suitable for thin hair.

What Are the Different Types of Hair Extensions You Can Get?
Different Types of Extensions
There are many different types of hair extensions near me to choose from. All of which will help you add length and volume to your natural hair. There are two main categories to choose from: Permanent and Temporary. Within these two categories are different methods or types to choose. They often have names that are defined by the method of attachment. In this article we will break them down in order to give you clarity in making the best decision for your hair and lifestyle.
1. Permanent Type (Professionally Installed)
Permanent extensions are ones that are professionally installed by one of our experienced hair extension specialists in Las Vegas. These types of hair extensions are bonded to your hair in a number of different ways. They are designed in such a way that when installed the bonds are hidden. These stay bonded in your hair for between four to eight weeks before they are professionally removed and reinstalled. 1. Tape-In Hair Extensions What are they? Tape-In hair extensions bond to your natural with with a medical grade adhesive. Often they are made in flat 1.5 inch wide weft pieces of human hair strands. To install Tape Ins a hair stylist will often section your hair into a row. They will then take a thin 1.5 inch section of that row and place one piece on top and one piece on bottom pressing the adhesive of the two pieces together with your natural hair between them. They will repeat until the sectioned row of hair has the needed number of bonds installed. For a full head install most clients need about 4-5 rows with 20-25 total bonds. These bonds are sometimes referred to as sandwiches because of the way they attach to your hair. The install time takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour. After each 6-8 weeks if the hair is in good condition it can be removed and reused. Why choose them? Tape-In extensions in recent years have become the #1 choice world wide for adding permanent hair by clients and stylists alike. Clients and stylists love Tape Ins for a number of reasons. Primarily in comparison to traditional strand by strand hair extensions they are very fast to install and extremely comfortable to wear. Giving you great coverage and versatility, even if you have thin hair. Can even be installed in such a way as to be worn in high ponytails. Visits to the salon are also less often than other methods. How to care for them? Your hairdresser can recommend products and maintenance routines. However here are a few care tips to keep in mind. With Tape-In hair extensions it is best to avoid using products near the bonds such as conditioners or oils. This is to prevent the adhesive bonds from breaking down causing the tapes to loosen or slip. Keeping your hair brushed is important to avoid tangling. Before sleeping braiding your hair will also prevent tangling. When brushing or styling it is best to firmly hold your hair right below the bonds. This will avoid putting pressure to the roots of your hair where they are bonded. You can style just like you do your own hair as they are made with human hair. You will want to be careful with heat tools. Using lower heat setting are better for the health of your hair and the extensions. How long do they last? As your natural hair grows in you will need to see your hair stylist to have them moved up. Tape-Ins need to be removed every 6-8 weeks and reinstalled. Depending on the  hair quality you choose they can be used anywhere from a few months to over a year. Hair reusability is also dependant on at home care maintenance routines. 2. Bead Weft Hair Extensions
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are they? Beaded weft hair extensions bond to your natural hair with small beads that are lined on the inside with a soft silicone. Often they come in sewn bundles that stretch several feet wide. To install beaded weft a hair stylist will often section your hair into a row. The weft is then cut to size to the width of the row. The weft piece is then placed against your head. About every inch your hair natural hair and the extension hair is threaded together inside the bead. A pair of pliers is used to crimp the bead flat. They will repeat until the sectioned row of hair has the needed number of beads installed. For a full head install most clients need about 4-5 rows. The install time takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour. After each 3-5 weeks if the hair is in good condition it can be removed and reused. Why choose them? Beaded weft extensions are the original weft technique and are a good choice for those who have medium density to thicker hair. While similar to Tapes In many ways there is no adhesive used. In comparison to other traditional strand by strand hair extensions they are very fast to install and comfortable to wear. Giving you great coverage and versatility. Can even be installed in such a way as to be worn in high ponytails. Keep in mind visits to the salon are more often than other more popular methods like Tape Ins. How to care for them? Your hairdresser can recommend products and maintenance routines. However here are a few tips to keep in mind. Keeping your hair brushed is important to avoid tangling. Before sleeping braiding your hair will also prevent tangling. You can style just like you do your own hair as they are made with human hair. You will want to be careful with heat tools. Using lower heat setting are better for the health of your hair and the extensions. How long do they last? As your natural hair grows in you will need to see your hair stylist to have them moved up. Beaded wefts need to be removed every 3-5 weeks and reinstalled. Depending on the hair quality you choose they can be used anywhere from a few months to nine months. Hair reusability is also dependant on at home care maintenance routines. 3. I-Tip Hair Extensions
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are they? I-Tip hair extensions bond to your natural hair with small plastic tubes that shrink with the application of heat. It is also common to install I-Tips with either silicone lined beads or copper tubes. However, we have found those bonding methods to be harsh on the natural hair or easy to slip out. Often I-Tips come in bundles of individual hair extensions that each look like a shoelace tip. To install them a hair stylist will often section your hair into a row. An I-Tip is then threaded into the plastic shrink tube along with your hair. A heat tool is then used to shrink the plastic tube similar to shrink wrapping. About every half inch this step is repeated until that row has the need number of I-Tips installed. For a full head install most clients need about 4-5 rows. The install time takes approximately two to four hours. After each 6-8 weeks if the hair is in good condition it can be removed and reused. Why choose them? I-Tips are the original strand by strand method and is great for medium density to thicker hair. I-Tip method is for clients that like the look that individual extensions offer. We have updated the method of bonding to use a shrink tube as it is safer on the hair and does not slip. The hair can be reused unlike other strand by strand methods like fusion where the hair is a one time use. Can be installed in such a way as to be worn in high ponytails. Just keep in mind the bonds are more and smaller than tape/weft methods. This means they can spin and tug at the root hair. How to care for them? Your hairdresser can recommend products and maintenance routines. However here are a few tips to keep in mind. Take extra care with this type. Keeping your hair brushed is very important to avoid tangling and spinning of individual bonds. Before sleeping braiding your hair will also prevent tangling. You can style just like you do your own hair as they are made with human hair. You will want to be careful with heat tools. Using lower heat setting are better for the health of your hair and the extensions. Make sure to do move ups regularly to avoid spinning damage to your hair. How long do they last? As your natural hair grows in you will need to see your hair stylist to have them moved up. I-Tips need to be removed every 6-8 weeks and reinstalled. Depending on the hair quality you choose they can be used anywhere from a few months to nine months. Hair reusability is also dependant on at home care maintenance routines. 4. Fusion Hair Extensions
Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are they? Fusion hair extensions bond to your natural hair with keratin glue with the application of heat. Often fusions come in bundles of individual hair extensions that have flat or hard u-shaped glue tips. To install them a hair stylist will often section your hair into a row. A fusion tip is then bonded to a small amount of your hair the size of a shoelace tip. These tips can also be cut in half to create even small bonds. Allowing you to create an incredibly natural look. A heat tool is then used to melt the extension bond allowing it to attach to your natural hair. About every half inch this step is repeated until that row has the needed number of fusions installed. For a full head install most clients need about 4-5 rows. The install time takes approximately two to four hours. For half size bonds even longer. These were favored at one point because they do not slip, however this challenge was overcome with the advent of shrink tubes for I-Tips. After each 6-8 weeks the hair is removed and discarded. Why choose them? Fusions are the original strand by strand glue in method and is great for all hair densities. This method is for clients that like the look that individual extensions offer with half sized individual bonds. Can be installed in such a way as to be worn in high ponytails. Just keep in mind the bonds are more and smaller than tape/weft methods. This means they can spin and tug at the root hair. We recommend I-Tips over this methods as the hair is reusable and does not slip with the shrink link method of install. Fusions need to be removed every 6-8 weeks and new hair reinstalled.
2. Temporary Type (Do It Yourself)
Temporary extensions are ones that can be installed by yourself. These types of hair extensions can attach to your hair in a number of different ways. They are designed in such a way that when installed the attachments are hidden. These should be removed each night. 1. Clip-In Hair Extensions
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are they? Clip-In hair extensions are many cut to size pieces of weft hair that have clips sewn to them along the top. Clip Ins often come in sets of anywhere from 7-11 pieces. To install them you will section your hair into a row. Often starting on the lower back of your hair. Tease the spots in the sectioned off row in which the clips will open up and attach to. Snap the clips down. Repeat steps, sectioning rows and moving up the back of your head. Finally do the same on each side of your head for the remaining pieces. They can take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes depending on number of pieces to install. Why choose them? Clip-In extensions are the #1 method worldwide for quickly installing hair extensions yourself. Primarily in comparison to professional extensions, you can do Clip Ins yourself without the expense of professional extensions. They give you great coverage and versatility. However, they do need to be removed each night and reinstalled each day you want to wear them. How to care for them? They should be washed about every 15-20 wears, or if there is a lot of product buildup to the point that they become unmanageable. Just like your natural hair, you simply brush, shampoo and condition the hair and let them air dry! In terms of styling, human hair clip in extensions can be styled just like your own natural hair. They can be curled, straightened, and colored, however, it is always best to use a lower heat setting when heat styling the hair, and to use a heat protectant prior to heat styling. How long do they last? This will depend on how well you take care of them, what products you use and how often you wear them. With proper care and regular wear, clip-ins last anywhere from 3-6 months, up to a year and sometimes even longer. 2. Halo Hair Extensions
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What are they? Halo hair extensions are a newer method of hair extensions that do not actually attach to your own hair. Instead Halos makes use of your heads natural shape and sits comfortably on your head like a crown. However your own natural hair will sit on top of the halo firmly holding it in place. This is in contrast to most all other extension methods that attach to your actual hair in some way. Halo Extensions are installed in most cases 30 seconds or less. This is extremely fast in comparison to most other methods that require 30 minutes to many hours. Why choose them? Halo extensions have gained tremendous popularity worldwide over the last few years. Primarily for the speed of install compared to Clips Ins, comfort and damage as they do not attach to your actual hair. You can do Halos yourself without the expense of professional extensions. Gives you good coverage. However, they do need to be removed each night and reinstalled each day you want to wear them. How to care for them? They should be washed about every 15-20 wears, or if there is a lot of product buildup to the point that they become unmanageable. How long do they last? This will depend on how well you take care of them, what products you use and how often you wear them. With proper care and regular wear, halos last anywhere from 3-6 months, up to a year and sometimes even longer. 3. Ponytail Hair Extensions What are they?
