Microscope day
We got to play with the class microscopes to learn about insect pests. I only really got one picture, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out.
Meet a two-spotted spider mite from one of our lab plants.
We also got to see mealybugs, soft scale, fungus gnats, aphids, whitefly and thrips. Our lab plants and hydroponics are a hot mess, but it was really interesting.

Student in a closely related industry, here. You're not the only one upsetting or confusing classmates.
I got looked at funny for cooing briefly over a liverwort and calling it adorable while helping with repotting hydrangeas.
caused another public outcry in lichen class tonight by saying someone shouldn’t call a lichen spore ugly bc they wouldnt call a human baby ugly

We have a smol green friend hugging the nutrient solution spike in our hydroponics lab!
The tomato stem was that way when we got there, but I think the liverwort is an entirely acceptable occupant for the rock wool block.
