Ah yes, if everyone goes vegan and there's no animal agriculture all the land will definitely be turned into wildlife habitat and not monoculture crop fields covered in pesticides 🙄
Also ignores the fact that land used for animal agriculture is ideal fox habitat. Foxes thrive best in human-dominated landscapes. They're one of the few species found to benefit when land is developed. The clearing of trees and reshaping of the land for farming, along with the removal of large predators in the UK, is what allowed the fox population to thrive and spread across the country. If you just want to focus on foxes then rewilding projects, such as restoring forests and native predators, would be detrimental to them and reduce suitable habitat for them significantly.
In more remote areas, such as the Scottish highlands, fallen stock also provides a vital food source in winter that helps foxes to survive. When sheep die on the hills they're often left as carrion for scavengers. If this food source was removed then it would make it very difficult for foxes to survive in these areas and leave them with even less habitat.
Of course rewilding and restoring species is important, but it's weird to focus on foxes when they're one of the species that wouldn't really benefit from it.

how dare you question the amazing method of farming that gives us so much food by simply killing the soil and leaving lands barren without maintaining the resources that make it work in the first place.
last year i got 1800 bushels of corn by killing the soil, as opposed to before when i only got 1200 by not killing the soil. surely i can simply keep killing more soil

“Dead NFTs: The Evolving Landscape of the NFT Market” is a new report from dappGambl, a community of experts in finance and blockchain technology. Upon analysis of 73,257 NFT collections, the authors found that 69,795 have a market cap of zero Ether (ETH), the second most-popular cryptocurrency behind Bitcoin. In practical terms, that means 95 percent of NFTs wouldn’t fetch a penny today — a spectacular crash for assets that reached a trading volume of $17 billion amid a frenzied bull market in 2021. The study estimates that some 23 million investors own these tokens of no practical use or value.
[...]
The “Dead NFTs” report observes that the nearly 200,000 NFT collections “with no apparent owners or market share” identified by the study caused carbon emissions equivalent to the annual output from 2,048 houses, or 3,531 cars.

maybe its bc i live in a place where forestry is one of the dominant industries but like tree planting rly isnt good. like the majority of the time its done by forestry companies to “offset” what they’ve cut down, and they almost always just plant fir & spruce monocrops and then they prevent the rest of the forest from naturally regenerating by spraying glyphosate, because they want to kill off the hardwoods that grow back since softwoods are worth more to the pulp industry… anything a company does that is supposedly “green” never is.

Degrowth is not a monolithic alternative to the existing capitalist status-quo; rather, it encompasses ‘a matrix of alternatives’ which ‘opens up space for human creativity.’ Imagining and assembling a degrowth future, then, is an invitation to adventure into a plurality of possibilities. At the roots of a degrowth society, this matrix of alternatives might be made up of community land trusts, community gardens, woodlands and farms, community energy initiatives, cooperatives of all kinds, artists’ collectives, fair trade, food justice or food sovereignty groups, alternative currencies, not-for-profit community and social enterprises, systems of local exchange, tool libraries, seed libraries, repair cafés, voluntary arts groups, community heritage groups and climate or environmental action groups, among many other examples. The question is how to cultivate this degrowth potential, opening up opportunities and non-commodified spaces for individuals, groups and communities to connect, organise and create lasting change.
