A young white popstar who I stanned at the time, repeatedly ignored BLM flags at his concerts. After repeated mantras of ¨this is a safe space, ect,¨ he finally caught flack for it online (interestingly from his majority young, white female fans) and he did a little stunt for BLM. Since then, the popstar continues to very explicitly and exclusively celebrate LGBTQ+ identity at his concerts (speeches, sign reading, pride flags, ect), while obviously shying away from the black fans waving the ¨black signs¨ ect. The whole fiasco reminded me of the quote, ¨We must love justice more than any aspect of our own identities¨ by Bell Hooks. It reminded me that a lot of self proclaimed ¨woke¨ white people were historically, and are currently, more comfortable celebrating or advocating for *white implied LGBTQ+ issues because they can see themselves, their brothers, sisters, children ect in the people affected. *White implied LGBTQ+ is a safer issue for the average self proclaimed “socially conscious” white person to support than BLM or race issues and there’s a reason for that…Race, having a different skin tone, is such a huge empathy wall building factor for soooo many white people, it´s stunning. I see it constantly. The fact that it´s difficult for some white people to empathize with black issues period (even so far as to be hesitant to support a cause that says, ¨hey, you know what, black people shouldn’t be randomly killed just because they are black) because it´s ¨politically controversial¨ speaks volumes. So many white people feel like their white identity is being attacked if a black person even vaguely mentions racism or the mere idea some things in western countries were/are racist, is frightening. I understand its human nature to not automatically empathize with things that don´t affect you. But I think its more insidious than that, alot of african american oppression is directly tied to a ¨us vs them¨ narrative which pervades to this day White people have, and continue to perform, race solidarity whether they will admit to it or not. And when white people perform race solidarity its historically and practically dangerous, because its linked to racial violence, exploitation, and the dismissal of issues that could threaten the collective white identity´s self image. For example: The alt-rights ¨It´s OK to be white.¨ neo-nazi campaign. When white solidarity happens over being white, it´s usually against something and implies violence and racial domination. Like, when they commonly collectively set murdering white racists free in the 50s, or letting racist cops off for taking black life or not comfortable support ¨black issues¨ at the concerts. It´s all the different versions of the same thing and its dangerous. That’s why the popstar can pick up a pride flag and help his blond haired, blue eyed fan in the audience ¨come out to her parents¨ but will ignore the black fan holding a ¨Thank you for supporting me I’m Black¨ *This literally just happened.* You can’t even mention black oppression in casual conversation around many white people or they will become offended and start defending themselves because they think you are targeting THEM as an individual. The familiar talking points come up, ¨Why should I have to feel bad for something my ancestors did….“ and ¨Why should I have to feel bad as a cis white male/woman, ect.¨ Until the majority of White people can empathize with black pain, and (Even at the expense of their white identities being at fault in the conversation) racism and systemic oppression isn’t going anywhere. But there is hope in this day and age. Many young white kids are able and willing to do leap over this ¨boundary of self¨ to prioritize other identities. Like the many young white fans of the popstar who scolded him. Some of which even tweeted sophisticated reasons for why the popstar should be inclusive and inter-sectional at his concerts.
Self-control: CONTROL YOUR HABITS, CONTROL YOUR LIFE! Try turning some of these 100 Life Changing Actions into regular habits in your life to become a happier, less stressed and more organized individual.
Being a dark skinned black girl is so difficult. The marginalization and blatant abuse because of not having light skin is something serious and real. Do not sit there and criticize dark skinned black women for turning to forms of body modification unless you are willing to have an intersectional conversation that informs the debilitating hatred dark skinned black women grow up going through and the effects that might have on the psyche of a person. The AA community will make dark skinned black women the butt of every joke for like the first 20 years of our lives and then still have the foolaudacity to gasp when we turn to skin bleaching and plastic surgery, and just paint it all self hate and look the other way and I’m so sick of it. Self fucking hate? Seriously? Talk about beating someone who is already down!???

The Yoruba theology resides mainly in the believe of a one God, who created everything that exists. From Him came several energies who take care of every detail of the Universe, those are called by the Yoruban believers, Irunmole and Orishas.
In the Yoruba system of belief, before you’re born you have already decided what is going to happen with your life, this happens through Ori, which decide what is going to be the main objective in the new life you’re begining. Using the different energies of the Universe, we can achieve easily the needed balance to get to that final objective pre defined by ourselves, meaning living life in balance, with health, happiness and wealth.
Once you come to the earthly plane, your body is formed by three elements: Emí (spirit), Orí (soul) and Ará (body). The Emí and the Orí live inside the Ará but separated. Orí has the knowledge and the wisdom of passed lifes, it keeps closed to ones consciousness until death.
Emí allows us to our internal dialogue, it stores memories from this encarnation, and it goes aside from our counsciousness when we incorporate the Orisha, then he goes out the Ará.
When we die, Emí and Orí becomes one and leave the Ará who will transform in a dead body (Okú). Once they’re only one energy they’ll wait for the fate that will come to them, meaning returning to Aiyé transformed in an spirit (eggun) and wait for the reincarnation (Atúnwá), or if Aragbá Orún (Way to Orún), to get to the Ará Orún state (habitant of the Orún) with the Orishas. These state is only achieved after several reincarnations, until ones Emí has a state pure enough to become an habitant of Orún.
Every dweller of Aiyé, according to their behaviour in life can be considered as an omoluabí or an ajogun. Those who broked the laws and had a despicable behaviour during life, become ajogun or dark spirits, among those are:
Iku: The Death. King of the Ajogun.
Arun: The disease.
Ofo: The greed.
Epe: The hatress.
Ewon: The selfishness.
Egba: The loneliness.
The omoluabí are those that were rightous in the life, but anyway commited some mistakes, they’re considered kind spirits and can be adored as family ancestors.
hey but i honestly don't understand why "female" is bad. I'm not trying to be condescending or anything I just really don't see why it's a bad thing. I mean, girls call guys male, right? So I just don't get it idk maybe im just dumb
Girls do not call men “males” unless it’s to be petty in response to being called females.
Men use “females” in the place of bitch or hoe. It’s a more socially acceptable way to disrespect us.
Female is an adjective. There is already a word for an adult female: woman.
Have a good day.
