Stop looking for “closure” with people who aren’t keen on giving you it. If they had something to say to you they would’ve already said it. so essentially a man with a gun walked into a public library in texas during a Drag Queen Story Time event, accusing librarians of allowing “homosexuals” to “molest children.” thankfully, he never actually made it to the room where the event was being held, and he was arrested and charged with trespassing. 

i am very sad and scared but also very proud of the librarians and drag queens and authors who are literally putting their lives on the line to teach kids that it’s okay to be different. anyway:

Spill: Scenes of Black Feminist Fugitivity (2016)

In Spill, self-described queer Black troublemaker and Black feminist love evangelist Alexis Pauline Gumbs presents a commanding collection of scenes depicting fugitive Black women and girls seeking freedom from gendered violence and racism. In this poetic work inspired by Hortense Spillers, Gumbs offers an alternative approach to Black feminist literary criticism, historiography, and the interactive practice of relating to the words of Black feminist thinkers. Gumbs not only speaks to the spiritual, bodily, and otherworldly experience of Black women but also allows readers to imagine new possibilities for poetry as a portal for understanding and deepening feminist theory.
