One of the big differences I've noticed from getting into Chinese dramas is how spoiled you get from gifsets of shows you've never watched. You see a gifset from an American show of one person cradled in another person's arms, pierced with multiple arrows and spitting blood, and suddenly you've been spoiled for a major character death. You see the same thing in a Chinese drama and you've gained a net zero information wise.

I really like the scum villain fandom because the people here are always down to be unhinged. Like, if i said i wanted to read the story told from the pov of Shen Yuan's little sister as she navigates through the grief of losing her brother while she reads the story of PIDW after he dies as a way to still have some connection to him post-mortem only to realize that Shen Yuan was transmitgated into the story, people would get it. I really like this idea because of the obvious turmoil she'd go through, the way she'd doubt her own sanity and the touch of existencial dread that would settle in once Shang Qinghua appeared in the story because if the author is dead, who the hell is updating this story? I don't know, i just think it'd be neat
