These ponies are one of the first pieces of art I've ever posted on Tumblr.
They are also some of the first digital drawings I made. (You can probably tell).
I found these tags in a reblog yesterday. I didn't even know people were still LOOKING at this, let alone actually enjoying it.

The actual 2D art style for My Little Pony G5 disappoints me. So, in a bout of refusal to be mad at people, I wanted to see if I could do any better.

Expanding a thought from a conversation this morning:
In general, I think "Is X out-of-character?" is not a terribly useful question for a writer. It shuts down possibility, and interesting directions you could take a character.
A better question, I believe, is "What would it take for Character to do X?" What extremity would she find herself in, where X starts to look like a good idea? What loyalties or fears leave him with X as his only option? THAT'S where a potentially interesting story lies.
In practice, I find that you can often justify much more from a character than you initially dreamed you could: some of my best stories come from "What might drive Character to do [thing he would never do]?" As long as you make it clear to the reader what the hell pushed your character to this point, you've got the seed of a compelling story on your hands.

unsung benefit i think a lot of ppl are sleeping on with using the public library is that i think its a great replacement for the dopamine hit some ppl get from online shopping. it kind of fills that niche of reserving something that you then get to anticipate the arrival of and enjoy when it arrives, but without like, the waste and the money.

Meet Mazie Fuller
A strange little girl who now attends Kadic Academy.
She barely talks or eats. Most students catch her staring at them with her huge unblinking blue eyes from afar and get creeped out, so she doesn't have many friends. Turns out, she was adopted by a nice loving pair of farmers who live out in the countryside, but even THEY don't completely understand her most of the time... She seems to like animals though.
Her story is that she isn't fully human. In theory, (by Jeremie) she's an amalgamation of human DNA and polymorphic electrons. Barring the DNA, she's like fake William, but somehow the girl runs WITHOUT a supercomputer ...and isn't a complete dope.
How is that possible? ...Well, we don't know yet.
As a Lyoko Warrior, she only has one ability: Emulation
When she scans another warrior with her little pigtails, she can transform into a smaller (notably weaker) version of them.
[For some reason, she cannot copy Aelita. Mazie's code rejects the CODE LYOKO and the poor kid's virtual avatar gets all buggy. No one knows why.]
However, as an upside to her weaker attack power, her code is programmed to adapt quickly. With every challenge she faces, her form gains new (albeit temporary) abilities.
Ex: turning invisible, night vision, acquiring a shield, etc...

Anyone remember Code Lyoko's 'A Hair's Breath Away' (Ep 13)?
It's one of my favorites for multiple reasons, one of them being how Odd is utilized. He doesn't go to Lyoko this time around, he's trapped in the crumbling dorms with Milly and Tamiya.
Now, usually Odd play the levity man of the Lyoko Warriors. Slipping in a joke or a wisecrack to make his friends feel better about the immense pressure they are under when constantly fighting a malicious supercomputer out for their blood.
But... in THIS situation, there's none of that.
Odd Della Robbia is all business. Knowing that both Milly and Tamiya, two young girls who are (reasonably) scared out of their wits and facing possibly lethal circumstances, Odd's funny guy demeanor drops completely, leaving his caring, driven, and most of all, responsible self, to shine through.
(Also, I really love the "big brother role" the show sometimes gave Odd when it came to those two, especially Milly. I wish they had expanded on it more, but I'm happy it was there all the same).

I've been resource gathering for YEARS so now I am going to share my dragons hoard
Floorplanner. Design and furnish a house for you to use for having a consistent background in your comic or anything! Free, you need an account, easy to use, and you can save multiple houses.
Comparing Heights. Input the heights of characters to see what the different is between them. Great for keeping consistency. Free.
Magma. Draw online with friends in real time. Great for practice or hanging out. Free, paid plan available, account preferred.
Smithsonian Open Access. Loads of free images. Free.
SketchDaily. Lots of pose references, massive library, is set on a timer so you can practice quick figure drawing. Free.
SculptGL. A sculpting tool which I am yet to master, but you should be able to make whatever 3d object you like with it. free.
Pexels. Free stock images. And the search engine is actually pretty good at pulling up what you want.
Figurosity. Great pose references, diverse body types, lots of "how to draw" videos directly on the site, the models are 3d and you can rotate the angle, but you can't make custom poses or edit body proportions. Free, account option, paid plans available.
Line of Action. More drawing references, this one also has a focus on expressions, hands/feet, animals, landscapes. Free.
Animal Photo. You pose a 3d skull model and select an animal species, and they give you a bunch of photo references for that animal at that angle. Super handy. Free.
Height Weight Chart. You ever see an OC listed as having a certain weight but then they look Wildly different than the number suggests? Well here's a site to avoid that! It shows real people at different weights and heights to give you a better idea of what these abstract numbers all look like. Free to use.

If anyone ever mean or nasty to you one of the kindest things you can do is make the charitable assumption that they’re acting this way because they’ve been treated this way. You don’t have to put up with that treatment either, but if you hit it back with equal vitriol you’re only creating more anger in the world and likely confirming in their mind the negative biases they have towards people.
It takes a lot of strength to be kind, to be gentle, try to be an example to others and maybe they’ll learn from you.

anyway the actual point of fandom is to inspire each other. reading each other's fics and admiring each other's art and saying wow i love this and i feel something and i want to invoke this in other people, i want to write a sentence that feels like a meteor shower, i want to paint a kiss with such tenderness it makes you ache, i want to create something that someone else somewhere will see it and think oh, i need to do that too, right now. i am embracing being a corny cunt on main to say inspiring each other is one of the things humanity is best at and one of the things fandom is built for and i think that's beautiful

Chilling Afterschool
The Lyoko Gang hanging together after school!
I love it when stories go for the 'show, don't tell' approach. It provides a lot more depth to a scene when the characters don't spell out every emotional beat that is currently happenning.
So when Jeremie, arguably the smartest kid in the entire school is worrying about his future, his friends are there for him. They don't have to tell him, they don't have to say it... they just are.
I love these guys.
(Also I have a soft spot for sunsets, so this scene kind of just elevates itself in my mind by mere aesthetics alone.)
