poem #55 | āmiseryā
looking for love in the ghost town of my heart
surely you will find itās dreaded cousin, misery
whilst chasing the hollow shell of a person
forever wondering how you could ever get to me
dreaded by the future we used to adore
turning thy back, casting away our history
battles lost and blood repeatedly shed
with tears in my eyes, unable to accept victory
you hold your vanity close
clinging on to it like a child to its mother
i was stripped of my sole possessions
becoming enraged, when they offered another
how dare they try and replace the irreplaceable
the things i crave coming only from a brother
but deep down only those who know, know
that we would have all we need
if we were to have each other

poem #54 | āquixoticā
this path i walk alone
with numerous bodies at my side
āopen up to meā they plead
not realizing iāve already tried
as i trudge this caliginous road
all hope and faith runneth dry
so why is it i constantly long
for the very things that i once denied
i brag how iāve met the woman of my dreams
however only in my dreams she resides
oh how privileged i must feel
for her very existence only to be mine
perhaps some people are too pure for this world
and such is why they only exist within the mind
but i hold my tongue while they wonder
as to why i can be found sleeping all the time
