Whether you are a veteran fan or just beginning to learn about sports, you are welcome here! We promote a space free of toxicity and judgement - we're all here because we love sports and/or want to learn more about them! We also have channels for Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS) sites like PrizePicks, Sleeper, DraftKings, and FanDuel. We want to help people interested in DFS learn how to play smart and responsibly in order to actually profit from sports betting.

I'd love to grow this into a great community. Whether you are a long time sports fan or just getting into a sport and trying to choose a team, you are welcome here!

I also have an extra focus on DFS sites (PrizePicks, Sleeper, DK, FD) and I want to help those looking to get into DFS play smart and responsibly! I'll post daily picks and community plays are more than welcome too. And don't worry, there will NEVER be a "premium" cost for access to my DFS picks or any exclusive channels. I'll be working hard to bring picks backed by the data. But remember, it's called GAMBLING for a reason! That's why I want this server to be educational too - DFS is very fun to play but it's something you have to stick with to be profitable :)

being around sports my whole life i know how toxic the broader community can be. I'd love to create a safe and chill community where people can connect and learn without any fear of being judged or harassed.

It's literally just bc they're projecting themselves into Shuri's position bc they think Tenoch is hot but LET ME COME IN HERE WITH THE RECEIPTS BC NA*ORI/NA*HURI SHIPPERS EXHAUST ME !!

They don't actually care about EITHER character nor do they understand their characterizations. So they make up the fact that they saw some kind of tension to try and justify it only because they thought Namor was hot.

One of the writers (Shawver) even addressed the fact that in early stages of writing, they thought about playing with "romantic" undertones between them. However, he revealed that it was mostly because they were trying to imagine a scenario where Shuri might flirt as a means to an end and ultimately decided that that was not an accurate portrayal of her character. Here's his quote on it:

But, they never actually filmed any "romantic" scenes and nothing of that even made it into the script, not even in the extended cut of the film, as the idea was presented to test audiences before filming and they hated it 😂

Here's the production designer herself talking on the topic and shutting it down:

And then. AND THEN! We have Tenoch himself! Saying that the relationship between Namor and Shuri was never intended to be romantic and that their connection is a kinship based on the recognition of the shared struggles between their people. Tenoch is a true king for this! He flips the narrative back on m/f ships. While homophobes say "why do you have to make everything gay? Why can't two women/two men just be friends?" - Tenoch says it back at them, essentially "Why can't a man and woman just have a connection? Why does it have to be romantic?"

The fact that Na*huri shippers go nuts over Shawver saying romantic undertones were only discussed but conveniently neglect to ever acknowledge that Tenoch - the actor they thirst over so much and claim to love so much - shuts down a romantic interpretation is so telling to me.

It's like they're clinging and grasping at the air to hold onto this ship for the sole purpose of putting down Shuriri fans. Would I be disappointed if Letitia or Dominique said that there isn't meant to be a romantic connection between Shuri and Riri? Of course. But I'd respect it and move on to other ships while still loving the characters.

Na*huri shippers can't do that and we all know why💀 Like please please please just GLANCE at Namor's characterization in the comics and recognize that while his backstory and people's story was changed, his characteristics remain the same in the MCU.

This reminds me of Reylo all over again and I HATE it.

Ok cannot believe you walked into Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, saw Namor and Shuri's dynamic, and also Riri and Shuri's dynamic... and walked out shipping the 500+yr old god king with manipulation plans who killed her MOTHER with the 19/20 yr old girl genius who has TOO much suddenly on her shoulders still grieving and having to lead (DID YOU SEE HER WHEN THE ELDERS PUT THEIR HANDS ON HER SHOULDERS AFTER SHE REVEALED HERSELF TO BE THE PANTHER??? HELLO???? DISCOMFORT or maybe acceptance of this as the new. Thing.) AND YOU SHIP THEM INSTEAD OF RIRI AND SHURI WHO JUST??? HAVE SO MUCH MORE IN COMMON AND CAN MUCH BETTER KEEP UP WITH EACH OTHER?

I'm not sorry but genuinely believing that Shuri would ever want to be with someone who murdered her mother and then taunted her over it is next level delusional. Like I think that ship is probably the worst thing I've ever seen where people fundamentally do not understand EITHER of the characters...their personalities, their motivations, their goals, etc. All of that went out the window and it shows 💀💀

oh you just KNOW Shuri turned to Riri for comfort after her mother's death tok. I could imagine Riri found comfort from Shuri as well.

Since Ramonda died saving her, Riri probably feels some sort of survivor's guilt and/or responsibility. As viewers, we know this is an irrational thought as Riri was in no way responsible for Ramonda's death, but it would be an expected, emotional human reaction nonetheless.

I'd think both would have shared some of their feelings with each other - Shuri maybe sharing some of her regrets, and Riri talking about the guilt she feels. I feel like both would end up just settling and being present for each other though - a comfortable yet emotional silence between them as they allow each other to just process their thoughts and feelings.

I know this happened during Riri’s time in wakanda. Someone is going to write a fic about this soon I just know it.

Seeing the additions here are nice... can't lie that the Shuri x Riri ship is super valid, and I'm glad to see that it's been gaining even more popularity in the fandom.

Also really liked the mentions of Namor. The only thing I really like the MCU to be consistently comic accurate with is characterizations. I think they hit Namor spot on. In one of my posts I talked about how Namor is always an antagonist that uses manipulation as one of his biggest ways to get what he wants. Like OP mentioned, he sees the long game and the pawns at play.

He's a pretty smart villain, albeit with obvious weaknesses. His convo with Namora at the end was 100% shady af...the somewhat ominous music set the tone as well. It sounded like he's absolutely counting on Wakanda to turn to Talokan in the future, that way he could hold Wakanda in his debt. In terms of his character personality adaptation from the comics, they got it spot on here.

Great pick ups from OP, a second watching does wonders for MCU films now given how much is going on 🤣

things we don't talk about enough:

- the adorable way in which shuri says 'yesss!' with her fist balled to okoye in the mit campus as a callback to the first movie when she does the same with her brother

- the way in which riri was deadass checking shuri out when she turns to ask 'how old are you?' (girl GET UP)

- how shuri had barely regained consciousness after the bridge explosion AND STILL threw her body in front of Attuma and Namora with a choked 'WAIT!' and her hand out to protect riri (and kept checking on her every few seconds)
