how would you describe your muses’ morality? what are their core values?
lavender, the complex little thing that she is, dances somewhere around chaotic neutral & chaotic evil. she tends to follow her heart and her emotions, despite how unhinged either might be feeling at the time, but rather than acting on behalf of other people, her main focus is her own freedom. her own desires. i don’t think it’s necessarily a conscious decision she makes lightly. there definitely used to be a more lawful neutral vibe to her, but it’s been taken over by this particular bitterness. the difference between good or evil isn’t as important to her as her own issues. she doesn’t see what she does as right or wrong, but sees it’s simply right for her, which doesn’t make her the best ally to have in your corner.
is your muse multitalented? what are their hobbies, and why did they pick up these hobbies? if they don’t have hobbies, why don’t they?
lavender will swear blind she doesn’t have any hobbies and there’s some truth in that. enjoyment isn’t something she finds easy, her focus often going to places it shouldn’t rather than anything overly production. it was very different when she was younger. back then, she had a real knack for divination & animals, intending to use the latter to become a magizoologist. she also loved learning different make - up styles, hair styles, etc. the girl had a talent for anything beauty oriented and in a way, that very same artistic level is what brought her to markus scarrs. despite pretending otherwise, lavender is passionate about her art & takes pride in the ink pieces she puts together.
what is your muse’s relationship with their parents like? was it always this way?
the brown family.<3 i feel … so very fond of them. lavender was very close to her parents once upon a time. they doted upon her & her sibling, the two of them wanting for nothing. they took family vacations during the summer. they wrote to her every week when she was at hogwarts. they ate dinner at the table and talked about their days when she wasn’t. they were never well off, but they never struggled either. they were generally just a very ordinary, happy family. one that lavender is no longer in contact with. she cut those ties a long time ago, along with several others. it started slow at first; refusing to see them when they tried to visit her at st mungo’s, not responding to owls. they eventually took her home upon discharge, but life was never the same. lavender was never the same. she moved out not long after and from that point, contact happened less & less, until it stopped entirely. it isn’t a fault on her family’s side at all. her parents tried their hardest. they still try their hardest, but lavender is stubborn. i think at the beginning, it was the fear of rejection that kept her distant. the fear they wouldn’t love her after such a large change, despite them desperately trying to reassure otherwise. these days, it’s her own shame that keeps her away. she doesn’t want them to see what she’s become.

seamus can be very similar, but he’s less lawful good and leans heavily on chaotic good instead. seamus follows his heart. life isn’t about rules or traditions, right / wrong to him, as much as having the freedom to fight for what he holds dear. he isn’t afraid to challenge authority, or break the rules, but it’s usually with positive change in mind as opposed to selfish purposes. his actions are in favour of other people rather than just himself. he’s an unpredictable rebel with a conscience and usually a cause. then we have
is your muse multitalented? what are their hobbies, and why did they pick up these hobbies? if they don’t have hobbies, why don’t they?
seamus is possibly slightly multi - talented, but it’s in the least helpful areas in his opinion. he is a fabulous mixologist when it comes to making cocktails, and additionally to this, he has a perceptive palette. all he has to do is sip a cocktail & he can probably guess what’s in there! will it get him very far in life? probably not, but it’s a great party trick. he is also pretty good at muggle football and, thanks to occasional kitchen cover he’s pulled over the years, he isn’t a terrible chef. he isn’t five star either, however, he isn’t terrible.
what is your muse’s relationship with their parents like? was it always this way?
it’s no secret how much seamus loves his mama. that’s his best friend. i wouldn’t necessarily say seamus isn’t close to his father, but he isn’t as close. there’s a … barrier between them created by magic. it’s a part of seamus that his father hasn’t ever truly been able to understand and that lack of understanding has put a strain on their relationship that he doesn’t see between patrick & his siblings, who aren’t wix. that said, his father is still his father. he knows his old man loves him, even if they don’t always get one another. his mom, margaret macdonald, was able to share magic with him, bringing them closer. though margaret was very disillusioned by the wix world after the first wizarding war, i don’t think this necessarily became an issue between her & seamus until he became so determined to fight in the second war. this was mostly created by fear that she would lose a son the same way she ( at the time ) lost a sister. the reason seamus previously left the wix world behind himself was for her, because he loves his mama and he knew it was what she needed after seeing him so injured, so that in general is a huge part of his character. he loves her dearly.

justin is your typical lawful good character. he follows the rules, he believes in the greater good. he’s built on the belief that the world can be a better place if everybody just held each other in high value. a lot of his core values stem around this, making him loyal, honest, an exceptionally fair team player and above all else, he has strong integrity. he’s less likely to stand up for himself, but highly likely to defend a friend or someone he cares for. it isn’t impossible for him to break rules, proven by joining dumbledore’s army, but it’s usually under only exceptional circumstances in which he believes the necessity outweighs the consequences. in some elements,
is your muse multitalented? what are their hobbies, and why did they pick up these hobbies? if they don’t have hobbies, why don’t they?
justin is not a naturally gifted person in general. he’s clumsy, he’s unorganised. he still accidentally glues his fingers together if trying to do something creative. i don’t think he has a lot of impressive talents so to speak, but he does have a lot of hobbies and he approaches them all with a strong enthusiasm that can often make up for his lack of precision. these hobbies include, but aren’t limited to; video games, skateboarding, watching documentaries, anything pokemon related, equally anything old horror - related / even if it gives him nightmares after, and an odd one to finish, pumpkin - carving. no other art. just pumpkin carving. he does have a strong talent of being able to absorb & pick apart information, however, which helps him greatly in running his true crime podcast.
what is your muse’s relationship with their parents like? was it always this way?
the relationship between justin and his parents is parts complicated, parts simple. ultimately, at the end of it all, justin adores them & they adore their boy. he was an only child and a surprise one at that, which naturally saw him become the apple of their eye. raised by muggles, nobody in their household knew about the wix world until that letter came through. still, discovering their child was a wizard was never the real issue as much as the consequences that quickly came with it. he’s barely at hogwarts two years before he’s petrified; an incident mr & mrs finch - fletchley can’t ever wrap their heads around. that’s when the doubt starts to sink in ( are you quite sure you wouldn’t be happier at your old school, dear? there’s still a place waiting for you at eton when you’re older. ) and in turn, that’s when justin starts to lie. he covers up what he can. opts not to tell his parents about students dying in tournaments or war impending. it isn’t because they’re not close, but rather, fear. he didn’t want to be ripped from this extraordinary world he’d discovered. he also feared the more they knew, the more at risk they’d be. keeping them in the dark seemed kinder. to this day, his parents are still relatively unaware of the horrors they’ve all faced during that second wizarding war. any friends lucky enough to meet them are well - versed in what they can & can’t talk about within earshot. he’s truly convinced it’s better that way and even if someone could change his mind on that, he’s been lying so long now, he doesn’t fully know how to stop without imploding their entire relationship.

does your muse like solitude? do they prefer it to being around others? how easily does your muse get lonely?
oskar is incredibly indifferent when it comes to solitude. he neither craves it nor suffers in it. he could travel the world with a partner at his side to enjoy every new dish, or he could travel it by himself, and he’d be happy regardless. i do think oskar has a gift not everybody has the pleasure of experiencing; contentment. he doesn’t live in the past or the future. he lives in the now and he purposely savours every second. while i do feel he potentially leans more towards being around people, he also appreciates the beauty of getting lost in a good novel, or contemplating life under a beautiful sunset. things that don’t always need the company of another. he adapts, and though i don’t feel loneliness is something that features heavily in his life, it wouldn’t linger long if it did. this is a man who could walk into a bar and make friends with the first group of strangers he finds. he’s very personable & because of that, he’s never really by himself for long if he doesn’t want to be.
roshana & oskar are not the same. she definitely prefers the quiet, but it hasn’t always been that way. her opinion on solitude very much changed to coincide with her grief after losing dirk. as a wife, she was incredibly social. they attended every event they were invited to. they held dinner parties full of friends & colleagues, they attended wine tastings or group trips. they were present. hana felt comfortable in a crowd because she always knew her husband was never far from view, smiling at her from across the room. as a widow, there’s nothing worse than all of the above. events aren’t the same anymore. they’re full of sympathetic head tilts, or people still tip - toeing around conversation. hana feels most lonely when she’s in a room surrounded by people, because the person she used to gravitate towards when it all got too much isn’t there to ground her anymore. in a way, it’s made her realise how superficial some of those friendships were, rather than bringing her closer to people. the only exceptions are, of course, her children; time spent with them is always welcome & preferred. otherwise, give her a dark corner in a bar, or home alone with the lights off.
what aesthetics or symbols do you reference when writing your muse? are these backed up by canon, if your muse comes from a canon? is there any specific relevance to these choices?
both are a combination of several aesthetics blended into one character, rather than a character built around one specific label. i find hana’s are a little more complex than oksar, because some are a part of her past, such as the lover; cheesy romantic comedies, breakfast in bed, rose petals leading to a surprise dinner, photo albums full of memories, believing in love at first sight, keepsakes tucked in a box such as tickets from a first cinema date. this is who she used to be, but it’s a part of her that was lost when he died, leading her more towards the despondent or the broken bird; unsent letters written to somebody long lost, restless nights, crying in a park lot, messy buns, meaningful tattoos, those very same romantic comedies collecting dust in a box that hasn’t been opened in years, the pages of a marriage album turning up because they’ve been flicked through so often. i think there’s a lot of depth to delve into when it comes to hana, whereas oskar?
oskar is less complicated. oskar is the leather jacket meets the traveler, and he always has been; sneaking out, empty beer bottles, unkempt hair from motorcycle rides, dark sunglasses, adventure, guitars, coffee. these are aesthetics that have remained pretty solid throughout his life with just a hint of the miscreant shining through sometimes; picking locks, camping out in tents, caught in places he shouldn’t be. as a teenager, the latter aesthetic was just about being an unruly troublemaker, but as an adult, they’ve developed more in how he makes such a successful career out of investigating things other people don’t want investigated.
how does your muse approach intimacy? are they hesitant, or do they like it? what types of intimacy do they like and dislike? (ex. physical intimacy, sexual intimacy, emotional intimacy, etc.)
oskar is a naturally intimate person in every way except emotionally. there is definitely a barrier there that prevents any deep, meaningful connections. that level of intimacy has only ever been reserved for one or two people in his life. the first being eliza in all their messy, heart-archingly beautiful past of young love gone wrong, and the second being his ex - wife, which was more fleeting than permanent & still had an expiration date, but existed nonetheless. in general, oskar is very tactful in his approach towards intimacy. he can very much focus on the little things, such as tucking a strand of hair behind someone’s ear mid - conversation, or a gentle hand against the small of their back as they weave through a crowd. he’s always present & precise, but never overbearing. most people get the best side of his charm, until emotions come into play then that’s around the time those relationships end rather than develop further.
and on the other side of the room, we have roshana, who is generally seeking as little intimacy as possible in all areas. things like that came naturally with dirk. they slot together without even trying & she doesn’t expect to find that level of intimacy with anyone else again, nor does she purposely search to, because she still feels very much married. that relationship didn’t end so much as they were unfairly separated. i think any level of intimacy with another person has the potential to lead to strong feelings of guilt for hana, which is why she prefers to avoid it. it may be something she occasionally explores as a physical distraction to fill an impossible void, but otherwise, it’s mostly something she shies away from.

how empathetic is your muse? how compassionate are they? is this something people expect from them, or are people surprised when they find out how compassionate or empathetic they actually are?
i wouldn’t say empathy or compassion are ever two things that come naturally to ezekiel, but he isn’t completely incapable either. emotions like these are something he has to want to find and even then, he struggles. ezekiel is a very amoral force; he’s neither moral nor immoral, as much as he has no concern over behaviour being right or wrong in general. he bases his actions solely on what benefits him most, which can make it difficult for him to relate to another person’s struggle. a lot of zeke’s compassion / empath, when existent, is more likely to be displayed in physical manners rather than words. he isn’t the type to tell you everything is going to be okay, but he will put a silent hand on your shoulder & squeeze. he can’t naturally find the words to tell you he cares about you, but he will stand in front of you to block harm’s way, or throw his whole fist at another person mis-treating you. he is very much an acts of service kinda character, and i do think that comes as a surprise because it does not happen often. ezekiel feels some kinda way about only a small selection of people, but if you’re included in that, it could happen.
does your muse keep anything sentimental? if so, what do they keep and why?
surprisingly, yes! it doesn’t happen often, but it does happen. a perfect example of this would be the engagement ring he once bought for a former girlfriend who disappeared overnight, alongside the goodbye letter she wrote. however, keeping these is less about being sentimental and more to serve as a reminder to never let that happen again. ezekiel is not a man who makes the same mistake twice. he survives life by being smart. by keeping things that once hurt him, he ( or at least he believes ) can’t be burnt by the same flame again because they remain as a constant warning of what happened last time.

the silence that initially follows question is almost haunting. lavender can feel the muscle in her jaw twitching as teeth grind together tight. just the mention of greyback brings back memories. bright and vivid pictures she desperately wishes she can forget, though never will. she sees herself running through the halls of a once - beloved school / the very same corridors that once heard their whispered secrets now filled with screams instead. surroundings are nothing more than chaos & destruction, and no amount of training in a forbidden room could’ve ever truly prepared them for what they’re now facing. ⸻ especially not when she spent some of those sessions twirling hair around finger, flashing flirtatious smiles at that week’s crush rather than performing patronuses. feet stumble over obstacles she doesn’t dare look at, afraid of what ( or who ) she might find, focusing instead on the target of her next curse. the fear is thick in the air, but they fight through it. young girl stops in her tracks by the sound of deep, throaty laughter. calm. sinister, but calm. it’s the last thing lavender brown hears that night and it continues to mock her when she wakes up in st mungo’s days later. the sound follows her everywhere, echoing around mind as a constant reminder of the time he won.
but then a new memory surfaces. this one is far more recent. it involves a bright flash of green & the beast that once lived in her nightmares crumbling to the floor. lavender is sure she should feel something about her presence there that night. guilt, upset, remorse, and maybe the former part of her buried deep down does. unfortunately, that version is buried under a sick sense of triumph that thrives in the knowledge she’s still standing when he isn’t, even if end result had nothing to do with her. this time, she won. tense features finally relax, mind returning to the present as expression shifts. it’s a slow process at first; just a slight upward curl of lip before it spreads wider / creeps into an ominous smile that would probably look unrecognisable to anyone that knew a once - soft lavender. the honest answer to their previous question lingers on the tip of her tongue and when she finally speaks, she does so proudly, head tilting high. " i’d ask him who’s laughing now? "

the kindness arturo offers isn’t anything like she’s used to or familiar with. ⸻ andie wasn’t raised in a household that encouraged support, dependence, trust. walden macnair much preferred the kill or be killed approach, and she’s grown almost resigned to that world; the one that only ever disappoints / hurts. it’s overwhelming sometimes, the deep - rooted, guarded part of her unsure how to respond to such foreign generosity. there’s even a destructive part of her that seeks to reject it in an act of proclaimed self - preservation, but she quickly swallows that down along with the lump that forms in her throat every time visiting hours come to a close. " i will. thank you. " gratitude doesn’t seem enough compared to what he’s giving them. nothing ever will be. however, it’s all andie has to offer right now. " i don’t suppose that extends to bribing the healers for more time? " arms stay wrapped tight around the young boy arturo has been watching for her. it gets harder & harder to let marco leave without her. today, it feels impossible, gentle kiss pressing into his hair with a quiet promise of not much longer now.

days were tickng by until basil's sixth birthday and with the chaos of illness, the charity match attack and work, poor moira had yet to pick up any gifts for him. stepping out onto the cobbles of diagon alley, the faux blonde has to steady herself before she walks into the path of a passerby. raising her free hand, moira rubs at her tired eyes - she had barely gotten two hours sleep a night lest she be worrying or caring for her son - before checking the cobbles once again. "i need a nap, and i need it now."

" their response is instant, but it’s also senseless when compared to pansy’s previous declaration; acting as a clear sign marcus hasn’t ( are they ever? ) been listening. their body slouches in seat, all legs wide & real comfortable while fingers skim through the latest witch weekly addition that’s holding his attention. it’s only after a whole moment passes in deafening silence that their mind eventually processes what’s been said, eyes slowly glancing up with a look that seems almost bemused. ⸻ lost even. not because they don’t understand what they’re being told, but rather, they don’t understand why. how simple it is to move on from an attack that they ensured didn’t cost them a thing, the charity game and any casualties left behind in their scarper long gone from the forefront of their mind. FOUR YEARS OF NOXTMS: FOUR DYNAMICS.

@woesbegone. i cannot stress enough how hard it was for me to pick just one of our dynamics because honestly … i’m obsessed with them all! a very, very honourable mention to ginny & arthur, niko & ezekiel, luca & ezekiel, seamus & mary, marcus & pansy, justin & astoria, andie & arturo and oskar & eliza who absolutely also got considered, but ultimately i went with these two because i genuinely just … love how naturally these two flow, bond, etc. they’ve both been through it! they both continue to go through it! but they’re really, really trying their best, and i think they just get that about each other. i’m easily attached to the concept of two people who have been very fucked up by their past kinda gravitating towards each other with a silent understanding. i know the connection was initially built on a previous connection (julius crabbe<3), but i feel like overtime, we’ve established their own footing and they just make me smile.
@rebuildeds. this was almost marcus & tempest, because the way tempest eats marcus alive every time they try to start a war they can’t finish is a constant amusement, and then i went what about lavender & tempest? or seamus & dudley? but in the end, it was impossible for me not to choose justin & tempest. this dynamic is so special to me. sometimes they’re fun, currently they’re angsty. the way i naturally adore tempest anyway makes it easy for justin to also be a lil besotted with them, but tie it in with the new vibe of momentarily bonded by trauma and we always have so much to unpack. i really enjoy them.
@bemyhcro. i know this is a relatively new connection we’re still exploring, but i’m already very !!! about them. bringing together two people that have been completely fucked by the narrative turning against them? it’s the best ingredient for a deliciously complicated dynamic. the kind that’s almost … would we even be pals if we weren’t bound by this one deep, dark secret we have in common? probably not, but here we are! and that’s such a great trope. i love unlikely confidants. there’s so many potential directions they can end up going in and i can’t wait to help it all unfold.
@taciiturns & @monstrovs. i couldn’t let this meme pass without giving the biggest shout - out to everybody’s favourite karkaroffs. i think i speak for us all when i say what a delight it is to read these two interacting. the karkaroff family as a whole are such an insanely talented concept, but these two in particular? i’m always fascinated by them. i always have so much fun reading their threads, their texts, learning more about how they are with each other. there’s never a dull moment and you two bring both niko & kaela such depth, such character, such … everything. i don’t really have the words to put down how much i love these two, but i really, really, really, really just do.
