I think iwaizumi doesn't like to say "I miss you" because he thinks it makes things more emotional and harder than it needs to be. but he can't help but show it in just actions. getting to see suga and hugging him so tight for at least 2 minutes. smiling even as he makes fun of oikawa over facetime. a text good night just as he's waking up. sends pictures of things he thinks his boyfriends will love. buys them shirts to wear, steals a shirt when neither are looking so he can wear it in his apartment when he really misses them. he doesn't say I miss you, but it shows in everything he does.

“Um,” Iwaizumi rakes his hands through his hair, head dipping “I didn’t realize— I’m a little drunk—”
“—It’s okay. You don’t have to tell me.”
Sugawara’s clamoring to fix things but his words only stop Iwaizumi in his actions. He lifts his head, hands wiping slowly down his face. Sugawara can see there’s something brimming in his throat and he’s narrowing his gaze out to the void as if to weigh his next steps carefully and suddenly Sugawara’s very afraid.
“I want to tell you, though.” Iwaizumi turns to look at him. “Is that okay?”
Sugawara grips at the ankles of his jeans. “Okay.”
Iwaizumi, a culprit caught, drags his eyes from his lips to lashes. “I keep thinking about kissing you.”
