So... Will Dawn strive to be an overlord? Technically she is also royalty... so would she NEED to be one? Imagine the overlord power this lil royal would have

I'm gonna apologize in advance for lowkey word-barfing about what kind of person she grows up to be, but this is just the perfect opportunity for a loredump on that :'DD

While she would indeed become quite powerful - especially given her heritage - I don't think she'd be interested in that sort of thing at all as an adult. The overlord stuff is her dad's thing, not so much her own.

Pulling strings in tense political meetings where most fights for power aren't even fought with weapons just isn't her style. She's a woman of direct action and she has the subtlety of a trainwreck.

Much like her mother, she has a strong sense of justice and struggles with staying put, so helping with the redemption project efforts (and maybe coming up with a few wild ideas of her own along the way) will be the more likely path for her to take.

I like to think she generally grows up to be a lot more like her mom in general - though more confident in herself and her powers thanks to being raised in a very supportive and safe environment that allowed her to properly explore her limits.

Alastor's more anarchic parenting style teaches her to see past the systems in place and to trust her own heart and mind, whereas Charlie's stricter rule enforcement and empathic parenting instills in her the importance of understanding the consequences of one's actions, owning up to mistakes made and keeping an open mind to the experiences of others - something helped immensely by the fact that she's raised at the hotel surrounded by sinners that all have a hand in taking care of her.

She imo has the potential to embody the best of both worlds and make for a passionate and strong-willed princess that has the guts to fight for what's right, even if she has to break some rules along the way - important qualities to have, both as potential future regent and for helping make her mother's dream of helping her people become reality.

Something I figured I should establish for this AU is that Alastor and Charlie were in no way shape or form dating when Dawn got created.

So, for the first few months of her existence, they set up a crib in each of their respective suites and took turns with who she'd sleep with for the night (both of them were pretty stubbornly adamant on doing their part in raising her so they split up these types of chores as evenly as possible).

This setup wouldn't last long, however, since Dawn would keep crying until she had both of them around, resulting in her parents more or less forced to sleep in the same bed with her.

After about a year of nightly treks down the long hallway that separates them, they decide to just move into the same suite and spare themselves the trip.

Her clinginess ultimately never actually faded either, she just eventually grew too big to be carried around all the time

oh man see I've been putting off answering the total of 3 asks I've got about Dawn with Rosie because I really wanted to do art for it but for some reason I had a bit of a mental block until this one poured in-

ANYWHO-

I think even though Alastor trusts Rosie with utmost confidence, Charlie is very wary about letting him take Dawn to Cannibal Town.

It's nothing personal, really, but they have an agreement that Dawn is not to be raised as a cannibal - if she ends up going for it out of her own free will later in life, that'll be her decision, but Charlie insists that she shouldn't be offered that as an option until at least 18.

At the time Charlie agrees to meet with Rosie to introduce Dawn to her, her and Alastor still only had a shaky sort of friendship, so she insisted on coming along to make sure Alastor doesn't go back on their agreement or turns a blind eye towards Rosie doing it for him.

Rosie ofc loves Dawn right away and teases Alastor about it, maybe even makes a comment about going about settling down in the wrong order and to at least have the decency to put a ring on a lady first... >:D

Live Parent Reaction(tm)

Ultimately the visit goes entirely without any issues whatsoever and they even left with a whole armful of gifted clothing items for their daughter that Rosie insisted they take home.

Rosie later becomes kind of a backup babysitter if Angel Dust or Lucifer are both somehow hindered, but also visits (and gets visited by Alastor with Dawn in tow) fairly frequently, easily granting her auntie status as a result (though I think Dawn might see her as more of a grandma once she learns what that concept means and what sorts of stereotypical activities are associated with that - especially since neither Lilith nor Alastor's mother are actually present)

Here's a brief summary of the remaining info nuggets I didn't bother linking so you don't have to open a million other posts:

Because Alastor sacrificed one of his shadow minions to create Dawn, it reforms as her own, sentient shadow. Normally this kind of bond has to be contracted via a deal, so this is rather extraordinary.

Charlie and Alastor aren't actually together yet when Dawn gets created, since she was kind of an accident. I don't know yet when they'll get together in the grand scheme of things, but I know they're going to be slowburn idiots about it.

Dawn's main weapon would probably be staff-based, since her mother's trident and her father's mic staff have that quality in common.

Dawn's magic is mostly fire-based and she can to a degree manipulate sound as well (i.e. mimicry, completely removing noise, boosting sound in volume selectively, manipulating pitch etc) but unlike her father, she cannot manipulate radiowaves.

She loves any and all animals with sharp teeth, most of all sharks - she's raised to despise Vox however and will try to harm him on sight

She had pica disorder as a child

Alastor Analysis

Alastor's background regarding romance and sexuality goes all the way back to early drawings that depict Alastor crushing on Kay-cee.

The story then moves on from a crush on Kay-cee to a full on relationship with Mimzy.

It makes me wonder how Viv jumped from Alastor in a relationship to Alastor being ace. It feels like quite a wide leap. With Viv being the creator, I have nothing but respect for her but I feel like Alastor can still love/possibly do sexual acts while still keeping in character and looking out for #1.

I feel like while Alastor was alive, he leaned toward graysexual and this is why. I don't believe this man died a virgin. As we all know Alastor is from the 20s. He's in his late 30s/40s, meaning that it would've been uncommon for a man his age to still be unwed/unattached to someone. I'm sure he went on blind dates set up by his mom, and even occasionally slept with women in order to keep up appearances. He most likely did this in order to make his mother happy since any mother would've liked to have seen their child happily married.

And after Alastor became an overlord, the occasional sex probably didn't stop there, because Alastor is all about about keeping up appearances and deals. He definitely comes off as someone who would use sex as a means to and end. If a woman wanted to trade their soul in exchange for Alastor's protection and one night with him, I feel like Alastor wouldn't turn her down. It would be a decision that would end up leading to an increase in power for him. He just likely wouldn't kiss during the act.

Now finally onto Alastor's relationship with Charlie. From the beginning, we've all known that Alastor has his own agenda and reasons for involving himself with Charlie. He's a master of manipulation, knowing love is a powerful motivator (the way he manipulates Vaggie by making her feel bad about Charlie and the commercial) and also digging into Charlie's daddy issues.

It was clear that Alastor tried to play the boyfriend card to piss off Luci. It was only after Charlie introduced Vaggie that Alastor changed tactics and switched to the daddy card.

This means that Alastor would be willing to play any role to get what he wants from Charlie, whether the endgame is obtaining her soul or becoming her royal advisor or whatever. If Vaggie had been introduced in the pilot as a mere crush, Alastor would've caught onto the daddy issues quick and would've angled for a romantic role in Charlie's life since love and sex would be easy things for Alastor to manipulate (if my theory is right about him using sex as a means to an end).

I feel like this kind of materializes during the pilot with the way Alastor keeps pushing Vaggie out of the way, and how Vaggie seems jealous whenever Alastor impresses Charlie.

We don't know if this weird competition for Charlie's attention will persist between them as the series goes on considering that behavior was absent in season one. What's interesting is that the jealousy aspect switched from Vaggie to Alastor. The second Luci hugged Charlie, we're shown Alastor looking maliciously at Luci with his eye twitching in irritation.

What do we know about Alastor so far? He's an attention whore . He's used to being one of the strongest demon lords (at least from the pride ring) so suddenly not having attention, particularly Charlie's attention is making him act nuttier than usual.

Usually, it's hard for someone to be jealous without at least having some feelings toward the one they're feeling jealousy over. "Ah, an enjoyable collective to be around. I admit that one could get accustomed." This line is for the entire Hazbin gang, but also a real sign he cares for Charlie.

He can still have his own hidden agenda while caring about Charlie and being attracted to her. And he definitely is attracted to her. Calls her "charming and adorable". The constant touching.

Some might argue that that's just a part of Alastor's power play/dominance but he already knows that those types of moves don't intimidate Charlie. In fact, she never seems bothered at all when Alastor tries physically to get closer to her.

Also, the animators placing Alastor in Charlie's bed with both of them on a HEART pillow is insane. They know what they were doing. We see the way Alastor's hands possessively spider crawl up Charlie's shoulders and the way he grips her face.

And by the looks of it, Alastor seems to lust after Charlie's soul almost as much as his freedom. Viv has said that Alastor can't love anyone because he loves himself too much. Yet, she has also described Charlie as "Alastor's mirror".

The fact that they even made Charlie's color palette similar to Alastor's. Her hot pink jacket is almost a reddish color and they both wear bow ties. If Charlie is a reflection of Alastor then wouldn't that mean he does technically love himself by loving Charlie? He could be Charliesexual.

Not saying Viv will change her mind. She already chose her endgame. BUT what if Prime and Viv compromise and we get to have one sided Charlastor where Alastor admits to someone or even directly confesses his romantic love to Charlie herself (without actually trying to steal her from Vaggie)?
