Himachal Pradesh Forest Dept will be charging some amount for all the treks depending on the location and number of people visiting the location. Triund is just the trial, soon all trails will be well operated with some basic entry fee and we also have to provide personal details of people visiting the location. It's great that they are making a check point with basic toilet facilities as well. Hopefully Forest Dept puts this money into conservation of trails and provide basic services like Bio Toilets at certain points on weekend treks, ban all kind of plastics, cans and other pollutants on trail and promote local tourism, limit number of people visiting the location and further we can progress with time and experience. For most of the other treks now one has to acquire permit for the trek from the regional DFO (District Forest Officer). This goes for all tour operators and individual trekkers as well. Making an online portal for it was a great move by the dept. What are you opinions about this change ? Please share your thoughs. #HimalayanDrifters #HimalayanNews

**Kheer Ganga Really Banned?** After recent High Court orders Camps and Cafes are banned in Kheer Ganga and to our surprise during our last weekend visit we found all the cafes burnt and cemented construction was brought to the ground but by the end of the day we noticed at least 50 camps popped up as more trekkers and visitors arrived and the cost ranges from 1500 to 3500 for 3 Person tent without food depending on time the availability of last tents. Some even paid 1500 for a blanket and Matt inside huge dorm which was already over crowded with people. Water bottles were selling at Rs 100 and simple thali of with 1 Lentil, Veg, 2 Roti and some rice costs 250 per person. People are still careless towards the pollution and plastic garbage but removing all cafes from the route has helped a lot, we also noticed some newly installed but unmaintained dustbins on the route. We also noticed a lot less crowd compared to past years but still a lot of people are hiking without permissions. There were more than 200 people camping at Kheer Ganga, cafe owners are disheartened and are taking some time to move down their Camps and making some last bit of money till they are finally eliminated from Kheer Ganga. This comes as an opportunity to revive and restore the beauty of this trek and charm of beauty which was all lost under hippies culture which developed in recent past. It's an holy places and should be treated accordingly. Image credits : **If you want to visit Kheer Ganga solo or with group please contact us at 9816677671 for 2 Days legal hiking without camping at Kheer Ganga with/without guide option. Please notice we have a policy that every trekker will pick up as much trash/plastic/bottles etc during returning from Kheer Ganga and drop it at Barshehni to help clean and restore Kheerganga.** Itinerary Day 1 : Drive from Kasol Barshehni then hike to our Campsite at midway of trek Rudranaag. Visit the Waterfall and return back to camp. Bonfire and Dinner at Camp. Day 2 : Rudranaag to Kheer Ganga and return Post breakfast we start early to Kheer Ganga and enjoy the hot water springs of Kheer Ganga and return to Kasol. (at Kheerganga)
