I swear, this challenge has just become free therapy at this point. If ever a day rolls around where I only want to exist as a consciousness and not a person, I hop on Nanari, and suddenly all I wish to do is enjoy the moment. It's silly, saying a walk in a game can be healing, but if it works, it works.

I have an absolutely (lovely) deranged friend who has been playing through FF14 aetheryte-less. In the beginning, since one of our friends pestered her to grab her aetherytes, out of spite she made the decision she will go through the entirety of the game WITHOUT AETHERYTES. She's in Shadowbringers now. She doesn't even have the teleportation menu UNLOCKED. She takes public transport wherever possible. If that's not an option, she walks. There are quests that have you attune to aetherytes, but these haven't unlocked the teleportation menu for her. When she dies, she spawns back in Uldah which is a huge bother, but because her spite is more important to her than her time, she will LITERALLY WALK TO A DIFFERENT WORLD INSTEAD OF JUST UNLOCKING THE TELEPORTATION FEATURE.

One of the more unique FFXIV blogs on Tumblr, @hikinghydaelyn follows the adventures of Nanari, as he endeavours to walk his way across the entire star! You might spot Nanari on the Malboro Data Centre, or occasionally on Mateus or Balmung, so if you do then please give him some encouragement along the way.

With some enchanting screenshots and great writing, I think this is a blog that deserves a lot more followers. You may already be familiar with the creator's work on @humblemooncat, and I can promise this is equally excellent, albeit quite different. If you're not already following then I recommend that you do so!

Quick cute lore post since I did some shopping for Nanari on Ki'to.

Meet Nanari's stalwart traveling companion, Ramuh. His sons named him after reading about the primal in their father's notes and books (Primals/Eikons & their respective beast tribes being his field of study and topic of his archon's thesis). They liked that he was said to have a reeeeeally long beard.

When Nanari went to leave for his travels, the two boys snuck Ramuh into their father's backpack, having taught him to sit very still for a while until he heard the bells of departure. He guesses they just wanted him to have a bit of home with him, and every time he sees Ramuh hopping at his side, he's reminded of the mischievous little scholars back home.

This is the minion Nanari will be traveling with from now on. He is a good boy, and is very fond of treats, so feel free to pet or feed him if you see me tootin' along on my journey. o/

Once I return home from the movies today, we're getting back to Post-ARR!

Of course, before that we'll be hitting up the All Saints Wake festivities. Nanari's been practicing his culinary skills, so if you find him there, he might just give you a little goodie bag of treats! <3

I swear, I sometimes forget just how pretty crystals look with my current shader. They're so vibrant! Makes Mor Dhona very pretty at night especially. 👀
