My piece for this year’s GAAM show is called “Moon Spring”, and it’s obviously inspired by Botticelli’s Spring. For a chance to take this home…you should just go to GAAM!

I really loved Casey's confession, but the reunion I was hoping for was Sylvie and Veronicat. 🐈

I would have liked it better if Tim just aknowledged he was an asshole during Lucy's training, that he exagerated and took it out on her because he was going through a hard time with personal stuff, and just apologized to her.
I can't get on board with romanticizing toxic bahavior.

Lucy Chen:
Saves Tim's life on her second day on the job
Keeps all Tim's secrets & keeps him from throwing his career away
Pickpockets Tim & gets him to pay her bar tab & makes him smile at the same time
Tries to run straight to Tim when he's trapped with a deadly virus & stays by the door with him the whole time he's in there
Immediately throws her body over Tim's while they're being shot at in an ambulance
Sends Tim food parcels even though he's going to be grumpy about it
Tracks down Tim's ex-wife to find out his learning style
Records whole audiobooks for Tim in her spare time to help him study
Gets Tim to date & have fun because she wants him to be happy
Proves Tim's innocence, gets him a plaque & prevents a murder all because she has his back
Has Tim as her lockscreen
Always knew Tim would find her no matter what
Doesn't pretend to be fine when Tim asks how she is like she does with everyone else
Comes to terms with her tattoo because of Tim
Knows Tim will give Kojo a good home
Knew Tim would do well in his sergeant's exam & thinks anyone would be lucky to have him
Refuses to let Tim go on a dangerous off the books mission without her
Calls Tim immediately when she gets in over her head
Wants Tim's opinion before she goes out with anyone because what he thinks matters
Calls a guy she's seeing "kinda dead to me" after he disrespected Tim
Knows Tim will be there to help her through anything
Earns Tim $40 with her kickass shooting
Just wants Tim to be proud of her
Is proud of Tim
Would tell Tim if he had broccoli in his teeth
100% going to make Tim admit he'll miss her too
But just a couple of pals who police, right???

The Rookie Live Blog
2x17 Control
General thoughts on the episode.
So, I think I’m getting a little old for slow burns. I get that they shouldn’t be together right now because he’s her direct superior, but I do get tired of the devices show runners use to keep a couple apart. First he dated someone else, then she has to dat someone else, then they usually have the “we can’t do this because we work together” talk. There’s a lot of hot and cold. One minute they’re in each other’s pockets and then there’s a total halt on any development. I was actually expecting it several episodes back. I thought Tim would act weir and distant once Lucy got back to work, but he didn’t. There was a lot more development after that. So the buckets of cold water we’ve gotten these last 3 episodes has been... tiring.
Tim was being really harsh at the beginning of this episode. Out of character harsh. Back to season1 harsh. We don’t need that. We get it, you’re not putting them together right now. When they finally talked it out in the shop, that was good, but not great. I felt that conversation deserved a little more time and weight.
The paramedic is super cute. I like to see Lucy happy. I will grin and bear it through the stupid formula. But I feel like there’s been a lot of buzz around the Rookie lately and a lot of new viewers. Mostly because of Tim and Lucy. The writers are dialing it back way too much, they’re losing the magic. I hope they don’t lose the viewers as well
