Maybe I should start writing again... I don't know what I would write about though. Trauma? Fiction? Love? Those topics all seem a little trivial...

I’m thinking about taking a semester off from medical school... Anyone with advice?

Sometimes I think whats the use of fitting into this world... it seems like it is just disappearing these days... 

I don’t make friends easily. I mean , I can make acquaintances but friends are hard... I don’t take rejection well either, but I am working on that. 

I definitely feel like I harp on things that I have not done. Or it just so happens that when I try to do something for myself... I get “blackballed” like...For example, my grandparents are here from the family islands and so I’ve been chauffeuring them for the entire time they’ve been here. Today, after I dropped my mom to work I decided to get my hair done, which was the best 2.5 hours I had ever spent for myself! I actually had a clear enough mind to do some work on my own, I was also blessed enough to have the whole salon to myself. Ever since the government put rules in place for beauticians to only allow three clients at the same time everyone’s time at salon has been managed. Now, when I got home I had to finish a research project assignment and prepare for a group meeting. I took a shower, did my tasks and finished my meeting. Then, I ate my food and went to the drug store and ice cream parlour, all at the request of my grandparents. By the time I got home from their requests I only had time to get gasoline because I thought that the grocery store closed at 5. The road was CRAZY. I came home around 4:45. I then called my other grandmother, because I hadn’t spoken to her in a while. The conversation lasted for at least 45 minutes. My mom then came home and was extremely upset that I did not get to go to the grocery store. Her anger is valid but I mean come on? Give me a break ! Sigh, I guess it’s my fault... now tomorrow I have to rush to the foodstore early in the morning to get groceries to prepare for this weekend’s upcoming lockdown and possible hurricane. No pressure right?

My first asynchronous exam is today! This has been THE longest semester of medical school. Year 2 surely is not for the fickle hearted. But, I’m here and I want to do well and I want to achieve this dream. Wish me all the best and my heart goes out to anyone that may still be in school too!

Alive-

I just wanted to say that I’m happy to be alive. Especially today, where i feel so happy and sad. I say that overall I’m happy to be living in these emotions, on this day in particular, because it reminds me that life is never a ‘one way’ street. There are two energies that always live in this world and sometimes one overwhelms the other. To those who might forget sometimes, cause I know I surely do, the bad doesn’t always last and you have to make peace with your past. Do not let negativity crowd your mind.
