every time I think of how they put Hux and Phasma next to each other as like the irredeemably bad one sided villains in the sequels I have to laugh like they really put a tall, broad shouldered woman with no moral scruples or empathy in a suit of armor who never displays a hint of appealing to the male gaze and a thin, appearance obsessed, effeminate man who’s main traits are “backstabbing sycophantic Weasel” And “gets beat up by the other male villains” together as the sequels side character villains. They may have just used slurs. It’s so homophobic that I’m charmed.

The essence of the Hux-Phasma relationship is that Hux privately considers her his best friend and admires her a lot but acts like they’re just coworkers while Phasma fondly tolerates Hux and would only be a little disappointed if he died - which is high praise from her because she can’t feel empathy.
