Okay, so . . . There’s this writer i know from a few separate fandoms.
And she discovered Roman Reigns.
Now on the one hand, I love that my man is getting some recognition outside WWE. On the other hand, I’m dreading this person posting about him and here’s why:
This person is a self-proclaimed activist for POC. I get it. If that’s what you feel you should do okay. HOWEVER, that DOES NOT mean every single POC is somehow abused simply because they are not white.
I just know this person is going to try to spin it that everything is so horrible for Roman Reigns.
Roman is a strong person both physically and otherwise. He does not deserve to have his achievements diminished because someone wants to use him as a tool for their complaining.
(And what’s worse is that none of her followers are in the WWE fandom, so they will definitely believe any tales she spins.)

do u like apollo crews? what are ur thoughts on his current storyline?
Um not really? I can’t say I’ve ever given him much thought to begin with. I don’t know very much about him. (That being said, why do I feel like his name is a mashup of Apollo Creed and Terry Crews? Weird.)
As for his current storyline . . . Eesh. I do prefer Big E over him, so the Wrestlemania match was disappointing for me. The fake accent is pretty cringe, but I can’t help to laugh about it. The Nigerian Guard thing is just not cool when you know bits the history surrounding it. I won’t go in depth.
Anyway it’s sort of a pet peeve of mine when a superstar’s ONLY “thing” is their ethnicity. Take Sheamus and Drew McIntyre for example—both are very talented, but it’s just not as cool (for me at least) when he’s just “the Irish guy” or “the Scottish guy.” It also makes it easy for them to become the butt of a joke (just think Miz and JoMo with the Braveheart gimmick on three separate occasions).
I know I’m stepping on toes here, but one thing I found pretty hilarious was when Crews called himself a “real African American.” It was undoubtedly jaw-dropping for white people, but try to understand that there are huge cultural differences between Africans and Western blacks.
TL;DR — I’m not fond of Apollo Crews but I don’t dislike him.
