He keeps looking in the rearview as the distance between their cars grows, watches as the other driver finally rolls off the road, coming to a stop in the grass.

It’s when the other car is finally out of view that the annoying part of Dean’s brain that cares more about being A Nice Guy than about getting home to enjoy the half day of the weekend he has left suggests to him that maybe the person in that car isn’t just an awful driver—maybe something is actually wrong. He tries to argue with himself, thinks, Oh, come on, that’s way less likely than that they just suck, but the response comes, Okay, but say something is wrong? Who else is going to help them?

He’s taken this road a million times, and it’s not like it’s abandoned or anything, but most people opt for I-70’s more direct route between Lawrence and Kansas City. Plus, Kansas isn’t exactly the most populous state in the union, and anyway, even if it was, plenty of people are willing to drive on by all kinds of things. A car that’s simply pulled over into the grass will barely even register.

the thing about. cutting out one line and then acting like it didn't happen is that it doesnt work!!! a big, emotional line in any decent script fits into it perfectly in the way that whether your character says the line or not, the place for it has been carved out already. it will be felt all throughout the script and the moment it's said aloud all you're doing is confirming everything your audience has already come to know. and i think about this with the 'i love you' in 8x17 because its there, all around! every scene is tainted by it! dean feeling betrayed at cas leaving him, and naomi saying 'you're hoping castiel will return to you. i only wish he felt the same way'. it's all there!! and just cause they cut out the line (ON THE DAY!!!) doesn't change the fact that the line was SUPPOSED TO BE THERE. and they do this over and over with destiel, for 12 years there are all these things that make perfect sense within the story and then they just crudely cut them out and so we're left with these absences where things they weren't allowed to say should be. but it's still there. you can still hear the echoes of their love loud and clear!!!!!!!!

“we went to destiel together” is funny but really truly there is no way to describe the bond this has created you will all be fused to my soul forever
