Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
“Yeona! What are you doing? You’re supposed to be getting ready!” Kaira yelled at her best friend as she walked through the door.
“What does it look like I’m doing?” She sighed looking up from her drawing, “I still have a few hours to get dressed, I’ll be fine.”
“You have one hour!” Yeona’s eyes widened. “You’ve been so zoned out none of these poor women couldn’t get your attention.”
Yeona looked at the five women that were quietly standing on the other side of the room. Si-Woo had been so busy the past couple of months helping with the wedding that she gave her the day off to enjoy the festivities. These women weren’t used to Yeona. They didn’t know just how lost she could get in her drawings.
“I am so sorry,” She said quickly, putting her things away and standing up.
“I knew I should’ve stayed with you.”
“Nonsense, You had a kid and husband to take care of,” Yeona said as she got undressed.
“I still can’t believe you’re marrying a prince.” The two women looked at each other and smiled.
It took a couple of days after Namjoon proposed for them to make arrangements so that they could make a trip to Jinzou and Hwen. Yeona and KangDae went to surprise Kaira while Namjoon was talking to Deu-sung.
The look on Kaira’s face when Yeona told her that she was getting married still made her laugh. The woman was overjoyed, asking her all kinds of questions about the mystery man who had finally captured her friend's heart. Only when the Royal horses carrying Namjoon and his guards showed up did she stop asking them. When Namjoon walked through the gate, dressed in his royal outfit, KangDae moved to quickly catch Kaira when she fainted.
The wedding was held a few months later in the Queen’s garden. All of the plants were fully in bloom and enjoying the warmer weather. Yeona and Namjoon were surrounded by their family, friends, and the Royal staff as they became husband and wife.
After the ceremony there was a parade through the city of Yia, and that night celebrations were held all throughout the Kingdom. The people were excited for their Prince and his new bride. With the law becoming more relaxed around the Royal family being able to leave the Castle walls, the people of Yia were able to get to know and love their future queen. They were excited to see how she would go about her new role as Princess of Yia.
By the time the celebrations ended and the people made their way home, Yeona and Namjoon had already made their way to their quarters. They spent a majority of the night wrapped in each other's arms as they lay in bed and talked.
When Yeona got up and went to her art area, Namjoon followed with a box full of snacks and a book to read. The two sat beside each other in silence, just enjoying the quiet and each other's company before they eventually went to rest so that they could start their first official day as husband and wife.

Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
It was mid afternoon by the time Yeona woke up. She wasn’t sure what time she’d fallen asleep in her art corner. After Namjoon left she brought her blanket and pillows over to it. Her bed was too close to the wall and she didn't want to hear any sound that might come through.
“Miss, is that you and the Prince?” Si-Woo asked, looking at the paper on Yeona’s table.
Yeona’s eyes widened as she quickly turned to look at the Maiden. “I thought I put that away.”
“Is he kissing you on the forehead?”
“Um, yes.”
Si-Woo smiled and simply said “mmhmm.”
“It’s not what it looks like.”
“Mmhmm.”
“Seriously nothing happened.”
“Mmhmm.”
“Stop saying that.”
“Mmkay.” Si-Woo’s smile never faded even as she made her way across the room to answer the door.
“Good afternoon Ladies.” In-Su said with a big smile.
“Good afternoon Guard In-Su” the two women said in unison.
“What brings you by?” Yeona asked, standing up from the table.
“The Prince asked me to escort you. So that you may explore the castle grounds.”
Si-Woo looked over her shoulder at Yeona, “Oh did he now?”
“You hush.”
“Mmhmm.” Si-Woo said before going to the changing room and getting their capes.
The women followed him out of the door. They stopped at the opened door next to Yeona’s room. Inside were women cleaning and all of Myung’s things were gone.
“Excuse me?” Yeona asked, grabbing the attention of one of the cleaning crew, “Where is Myung and all her things?”
“We aren’t sure, Miss,” one of the women answered. “All of her things were removed before we got here. We were just asked to clean.”
“Hmm, that’s strange. Thank you.” She gave the women a smile before the three of them continued down the hall.
“Maybe she ran off with the mysterious man,” Si-Woo said as they stepped outside.
“Something like that,” In-Su said softly enough that neither of the women heard him.
The sun shone high above as they made their way around the castle grounds, and the air would fill with  laughter each time the two women got into a snowball fight.
Something felt different to Yeona as they walked around. Maybe because she was able to move around the grounds more freely with In-Su by their side or that more people seemed to be out enjoying the nice weather. Everyone they came in contact with treated them kindly. The Head Chef even gave them a few snacks to enjoy as they walked around.
“What is this place?” Yeona asked Si-Woo and In-Su.
“I'm not sure, Miss. I’ve never seen this place before.” Her Maiden answered, looking at the new building that was surrounded by a wall.
“This, ladies, is the new training grounds.” In-Su smiled as he took the lock off the gate. “Well are you coming?” He turned and asked them once he walked through it.
“I don’t know,” Yeona teasedy, making her way towards him, “The last time we were in a training grounds together we both got in trouble.” She cocked an eyebrow at him.
“We won't get in trouble this time. I promise.”
The two women looked at each other before entering. “Why did they build another one?” Si-Woo asked, looking around.
“It was the Prince’s idea,” In-Su answered walking towards one of the small buildings.
“But why? There’s already five on the grounds. Why would the men need more?”
“It’s not for the men.” He answered, stepping inside and returning a second later with a pile of folded clothes in his hands.
“Then who is it for?”
“The women.” He stopped in front of Yeona. “Please put these on.”
“I’m not fighting you. You’re on duty.” She scrunched her brows and looked at the training uniform.
“I am not the one you will be sparring against.”
“Then who?”
“They will be here in a little bit. So please change.”
Yeona entered the building that he’d gotten the clothes from. If she wasn’t going to spar with him, then why would he have her change? Also why would he bring them here? She could tell by looking at the equipment and the grounds that nobody had fought here yet.
She did some stretches to make sure the outfit wouldn’t constrict her movements in any way before stepping out the door.
“I’m not fighting him.” Yeona pointed at BaekJee who was standing next to In-Su and Si-Woo.
“I’m a little hurt, Yeo.” BaekJee placed his hand on his chest, “You’re usually ok with kicking my ass.”
“Not while you’re in uniform.”
“Are you suddenly scared to get in trouble?”
“No, I just don’t want any of you getting in trouble again.”
“You don’t have to worry. I sadly am not your sparring partner today”
“Then who the hell am I fighting?” Yeona placed her hand on her hips.
“Me.”
Everyone’s heads turned towards the gate at the sound of Namjoon’s voice.
“Wh-what?” Yeona asked in shock.
“What, are you afraid you’ll lose against me?” Namjoon smirked.
“No.” Yeona stood up straighter. “It would be an honor to spar against you, your Highness.”
“I’ll go easy on you.” Namjoon gave her one of the bamboo swords that Taehyung handed him.
“I won’t.” Yeona said, swinging her sword only for him to block it.
“I think we might want to step back.” Jungkook laughed, backing away from the two of them.
The air quickly filled with the sounds of Namjoon and Yeona’s sparring match. The clashing of the swords echoed across the grounds. Neither of them took the fight seriously, but they didn’t hold back their power either.
Yeona felt lighter with each swing and kick. Any anger she was still holding onto was leaving. She didn’t hold back the smile or small laugh when she knocked Namjoon’s sword out of his hand. She threw hers to the side, rolled her shoulders and got into her fighting stance ready for hand to hand combat.
Namjoon was enjoying the sparring. He’d been told about how good she was but seeing her move and fighting her, himself, made him realize just how tough she really was. All those times she told him that she could take care of herself weren’t a lie. He was just glad that he was on her good side.
“Oof.” All the air left Namjoon’s lungs when his back hit the ground.
“You okay, your Highness?” Once his vision cleared up, Namjoon saw a smiling Yeona straddling his midsection.
“I hate it when you call me that.” He said, taking a deep breath and twisting his body in a way so that she was now the one on the ground.
“Then what should I call you?” Yeona asked as she caught her breath and thought of her next move.
“Namjoon will be just fine, but I’d prefer ‘husband’ more.” Namjoon smiled at the wide eyed woman. He hadn’t planned on asking her like this but he couldn’t hold it in any longer.
“What?” Yeona asked after the shock had worn off and she regained her strength, pinning him under her again.
“Marry me, Yeona. Become my wife and my Princess.” Namjoon sat up once she’d slowly moved and sat on the ground beside him. Out of the corner of his eyes he could see the group turning around to give them some privacy. “Yeona?” Namjoon took both of her hands in his.
“What did you say?” She looked at him with tears in her eyes.
“I want you to be my wife, Yeona. I knew from the moment I first saw you in Hwen that I wouldn’t be able to live my life without you in it. If it wasn’t for the stupid law I would have asked you the night we watched the shooting stars. You are a strong, brave, beautiful and kind hearted woman. I know that asking you to be by my side will require a lot from you. But I can promise that I will always be next to you, and I will not let you go through it alone.”
“Namjoon, I don’t want you to marry me because you have to, and you know that.”
“I had the law removed.” He said, wiping a tear from her cheek.
“You what?”
“Even before you talked to my Mother I knew that, in order for you to feel comfortable by my side, I’d have to get rid of it. With a little convincing the Royal Court agreed and helped me change it.”
“Namjoon…”
“I also knew that you would hate being cooped up all the time, so I made these training grounds for you.” He smiled as she looked around. “Not only did I want you to have a place to fight like you love to do, I also wanted somewhere that the other women who live here had a place to learn to fight, if they chose.” Namjoon cupped Yeona’s cheek and brought her attention back to him. “Yeona, I love you and I want to spend the rest of my life making you happy. Please marry me.”
Yeona didn’t say a word, she lunged at him, putting her arms around his neck and placed her lips on his. Namjoon hesitated for a second before he tightened his arms around her waist and kissed her back.

Chapter 38
Tumblr media
Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
Namjoon looked over the group of men standing before him and his parents. He did just as Sung-Ho had done and called a meeting of the council first thing in the morning. So early in fact that the sun was just starting to come up. He didn’t sleep last night. He and his men had stayed up to figure out what their next move would be.
He looked at Sung-Ho who was talking with Seokjin’s father. Namjoon chuckled softly. Sung-Ho looked tired. It was a shame that he had only gotten an hour of sleep before Namjoon sent a message about the meeting. The man was furious when he received the news and, by the looks of it, he was still mad.
Council member Kim, along with the King, Queen and Head Guard Min, were the only ones in the room besides himself and his men that knew why the meeting was called. Namjoon wanted to let them know what he was planning on doing.
“My son, are you ready to start the meeting?” The King asked. Namjoon gave his Father a nod.
“Everyone!” A hush fell upon the room at the sound of the King’s voice. “I know you all are as curious as the Queen and I are to see why this meeting was called. If we could have your attention for just a little longer I’m sure the Prince will have us out of here in time for breakfast.”
“Thank you, Father,” Namjoon said standing up. “A year ago my men and I left Yia so that I could find my future bride.  Now as you all know, I was against that.” A few of the men mumbled and nodded. “Council member Sung-Ho made sure that I never forgot, it was my duty as a Prince and future King of Yia. So I went. I wasn’t happy that I was being forced to find love. Forced to lie to someone about who I was. But I did what was required of me.” Namjoon started to pace. “Now I won't lie and say that I hated it, like I thought I would. My time outside the castle walls for the majority was amazing. I was able to live amongst our people and see just how beautiful our Kingdom is. But then things took a turn. My men and I had a target on our backs. I along with my guards couldn't figure out why someone would try and stop us, after all I was only doing as the law stated. But while I was tied up I realized. They wanted me gone so that they could put someone in my place that would do as they say without a fight. When these men were captured and we were rescued I thought that was the end. But what I didn’t realize was that they had a back up plan.” Namjoon stopped and looked at Seokjin’s father. “Head councilman Kim, I am assuming that, since the women received their letters, you have done as I asked?”
“Yes your Highness. The law has been changed. From this day forward members of the Royal family will no longer have to hide behind the castle walls, so long as they have guards with them. Princes and princesses are allowed to choose their future partners when they are ready and they will not be forced to wed if they choose not to.” Namjoon nodded in approval. “As for the other thing. We’ve had men working on it and it shall be done this morning.”
“I’m guessing there were some that didn’t want to make the change?” Seokjin’s father nodded. “I know Councilman Sung-Ho was against it.” Namjoon looked at the man. “See at first I thought he wanted the women to stay longer so that he and the rest of the council made sure I’d pick the right woman. Even though no one was supposed to interfere with my choice I decided to amuse him. Tell me Sung-Ho, did you know that the walls between the women's rooms are thin?”
The council members' eyes widened. “Silly me, of course you didn’t or else you would have been more careful when you visited Miss Myung. I would ask you to explain why you were with one of my potential brides, but I think I know the answer to that…in fact I know I know the answer. While you were busy entertaining her last night I had my men search your room.” Namjoon smirked when he saw a bead of sweat form on his brow. “Now remember when I said the men who took me had a back up plan? The plan involved placing a woman in one of the villages. A woman who would do anything she could to make me fall for her. A few of my men found it strange that no one really knew anything about Myung, even though she told us she grew up in the village. But I just figured she and her family were private people.” Namjoon waved his men over. Three of them were carrying boxes filled with letters.
“What are these?” One of the councilmen asked.
“Those are letters that were found in Sung-Ho’s room, very well hidden I might add. These letters are from Miss Myung and DongHyun, my father's former advisor. Councilmen Sung-Ho, did you want the women to stay for me or for you? Now, it is no secret that I have stronger feelings for one of the women. But you knew that when they arrived. The problem was that it wasn’t Myung. The one you wanted.” Namjoon raised his hand and motioned for KangDae and BaekJee who’d entered through the side of the room with Myung.  “You came up with the idea that they'd stay longer in hopes that she’d become the one that I chose. What you didn’t expect was for me to ask you to change the law, which you had to do in order for me to spend more time with Myung or for me to hear you through the wall. You’ll have to excuse me for not sticking around to hear your new plan last night. The sound of Myung giggling your name made me nauseous.”
The King looked at his son and then Sung-Ho. “Well what do you have to say?” He raised an eyebrow as the man opened and closed his mouth like a fish.
“I do have to thank you both though.” Namjoon turned to sit back in his chair. “I was upset at the thought of breaking the women's hearts. But thanks to my Mother I found out that three of them don’t want the pressure of being the future Queen, which I don’t blame them. Your inability to stay away from each other helped me see that one of them,” he looked at Myung, “Was in love with the title and the power but not me. So thanks to you I don’t have to wait any longer to ask the one that I’ve wanted all along to stand by my side.”

Chapter 37
Tumblr media
Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
Seokjin and Hoseok showed Yeona around the grounds more on their way back to her room. They even walked through the gardens. It was just as she imagined and she couldn’t wait until she was able to draw it on paper.
The three of them jumped at the sound of Si-Woo yelling Yeona’s name across the courtyard.  Their surprised faces looked in her direction to find her standing next to a laughing Jimin. Gone was the kind smile that was usually on her face. She was livid.
“I have been worried sick! I’ve looked everywhere for you. I thought you were taken. You are lucky Jimin showed up! I was about to go get the guards!”
“I’m so sorry Si-Woo. I didn’t plan on being gone long or going far. But I got turned around and couldn’t figure out where I was.” Yeona took the angry woman’s hand in hers. “I promise I wont leave without at least letting you know.”
“Ugh, come on. Your lunch is probably cold by now. But with what you put me through you deserve it. Thank you gentlemen for bringing her back safely.”
Yeona said a quick “thank you” to the three men and grabbed the box from Jimin’s arms before she was pulled away by Si-Woo.
Si-Woo took the box as soon as they entered her room. Yeona sat at the small table and ate her cold lunch while she watched the slightly less angry maiden set up an area for her to draw in. Yeona tried to tell her several times that she didn’t need a special area and that she could draw anywhere. But Si-Woo wasn’t having it. She wanted Yeona to be relaxed and comfortable, after all this was going to be her home for the next week. Si-Woo was hoping it would be longer and, judging by the gossip going around, she wasn’t the only one.
Yeona spent the remainder of the day tucked away in her new little art corner. Her only distractions were when Si-Woo would bring her something to eat. The maiden was amused whenever she had to repeat Yeona’s name multiple times to get her attention. She was in a zone. Not even the sound of Myung yelling at her maiden drew Yeona’s attention away from her drawings.
Yeona reached to grab something from the tray that Si-Woo had sat beside her earlier. She pouted when her hand touched the floor instead of snacks. Turning her head she found the tray gone and Namjoon sitting just out of reach holding it.
“Why did you steal my snacks?”
“It was the only way I could get your attention,” Namjoon chuckled.
“You could have just said my name.” Yeona rolled her eyes and turned back to the drawing she was working on.
“I did, multiple times.”
“Where’s Si-Woo?” She asked, glancing at the now empty space that the maiden had been in.
“She was fighting sleep when I came in so I sent her to her room.”
“She doesn’t go to sleep this early.”
“Yeona, it’s late.” Namjoon smiled at the confused look on her face.
“No it’s not.” Yeona looked over to the open window that was no longer bringing in sunlight. “What time is it?”
“Like I said, it's late.”
“If it’s so late then why are you here your Highness?”
Namjoon let out a sigh. “I couldn’t sleep so I went for a walk. When I saw the light coming through your open window I became concerned, so I came to make sure everything was alright.”
“You’re going to get in trouble again, your Highness, if someone witnessed you coming through the front door.”
“But I didn’t come through the front door. I came through the window.” He said with a proud smile. “Which, surprisingly, you didn’t hear. I said your name a few times and you didn’t respond.”
“How long have you been here?” Yeona asked as she continued to draw.
“Long enough for you to finish your last drawing and start on that one.”
“I’m almost done with this one. Have you been watching me this whole time?”
“Yes. I’ve missed watching you draw. You’re so beautiful when you’re focused on your work.”
Yeona’s hand stilled as her cheeks warmed. “Should you be flirting with me right now, your Highness?” She asked, adjusting her position so that she could focus again.
“Not flirting. Just stating the truth.”
“Sure you are,” she said sarcastically.
“Yeona?”
“Hmm.”
“Did you tell my Mother that you wouldn’t marry me?”
Yeona sighed and placed her drawing utensil on the table. “Yes. No. Well, kind of.”
“Which one is it?”
“I told her I would rather you marry because you chose to and not because you were being forced to.”
The two of them stared at each other. Was Namjoon being forced to marry? In a way, yes. The law stated that he had to have a wife and the council was making him choose one by the end of the week. He’d already chosen. He’d fallen for her the first time he saw her on the streets of Hwen and he’d chosen her the night they laid beside each other on the grassy hill as they watched the stars fall from the sky.
Namjoon opened his mouth to speak but the sound of voices coming through the wall stopped him. “What’s that?” He asked loudly enough for only Yeona to hear.
“That must be Myung and her mystery man.” Yeona stood up and headed towards the wall they shared.
“Her what?” He asked with a hint of anger, following after her.
“Si-Woo said she’d heard them the first night. But she didn’t see who he was and Myung's maiden didn’t know either.” Yeona turned around just before she reached the wall.
“What?”
“I don’t know if you should listen, your Highness.”
“Why not?”
“Because she is one of your potential brides. We don’t know if that man is a friend or something else. What if we hear something we shouldn't? I can tell by looking at you that you’re already angry.”
“Myung is hiding something by having him come over this late. She told me she didn’t know anyone here so why would a man be there?”
“Just promise me you wont do anything out of anger, your Highness. You’re already in trouble with the council for coming to my room the other night. I don’t want to see you get in any more.”
Namjoon stepped closer to her and held up one of his pinky fingers. “I promise that I will not get into any trouble.”
“No matter what we hear?” Once Namjoon nodded she hooked hers with his.
The two of them placed an ear on the wall to try and hear something. “Do you know why he wanted the council to do that?” They heard Myung ask.
“I have a pretty good idea, My Love.” Yeona looked at Namjoon. His eyes were closed as he concentrated on the conversation. “This means that we are going to have to go with a different plan in order for you to be Queen.”
“So what are we going to do?”
“We’ll talk more about that later.”
Yeona watched Namjoon’s eyes shoot open when Myung giggled the name ‘Sung-Ho’.
“Who’s Sung-Ho?” Yeona asked as they moved away from the wall.
Namjoon didn’t answer her. With his fist clenched by his side and Yeona right behind him he made his way across the room.
“Your Highness?” Yeona whispered a little louder since they were away from the wall.
Once again Namjoon didn’t answer. He just walked over to the opened window and made a low whistle. Yeona’s eyes widened when Yoongi appeared in front of it out of the darkness. She watched from a distance as he slightly leaned out the window and whispered something in the guard's ear. Yoongi gave him a nod and Yeona a tight lipped smile before he disappeared again.
“Who’s Sung-Ho?” Yeona asked again as she watched Namjoon’s back move from the deep breaths he was taking. “Your Highness?”
Namjoon quickly turned, causing her to slightly jump. “He’s a member of the Royal Council.” He took a deep breath and moved away from the window. “Sung-Ho was the one who was so hell bent on me going out and finding a wife.”
“He wanted you to find Myung?”
Namjoon came to a stop in front of her. “I need to leave before he or one of his men find me here.” The feeling of his warm hand on her cheek made her heart skip. “I don’t know what they are planning and I don’t want to leave you.”
“I can protect myself.” Yeona rolled her eyes.
“I know you can.” He smiled. “I want to protect you, Yeona. I will place some guards nearby just in case. As soon as I leave, lock the window.” Yeona nodded against his palm.
“Good night, your Highness.” She closed her eyes when she felt his warm breath across her forehead.
“Good night, Yeona.” He said before placing a soft kiss and quickly leaving.

Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
“This is so boring,” Yeona said out loud to herself. She was laying on the floor staring at the ceiling while she waited for Si-Woo to return with her lunch.
She wished that Si-Woo would hurry or one of the guys would sneak back through the window like they did yesterday. Sitting around her room not being able to go outside without an escort was boring. She wanted to explore, she wanted fresh air, other than her window. Last night after the guys and her Uncle left she finally had enough and did some cross stitching just so she’d have something to do.
Yeona sighed and turned her head to look at her open window. It was a beautiful day out. The sun was shining brightly on the slowly melting snow. “It wouldn’t hurt if I looked around a bit. I won't go very far and I’ll keep my head down.”
With her mind made up she got up off the floor and headed toward the changing area. Yeona removed her cape from the hook. The one that the Queen had given her was too noticeable, so she chose her own  to blend in better.
Yeona's hand was on the door handle when she froze at the sound of voices in the hall. As slowly and as quietly as possible she opened the door and peeked out. When she noticed that none of the women were Si-Woo she shut her door again and looked at her window.
“Well this will be fun.” She smiled and walked over to make her escape.
She let out a grunt once her feet landed on the ground below. A quick look at the front of the building let her know that she would be good leaving that way. The little courtyard was empty for now and if she was quick she’d be able to get away unnoticed.
Yeona took a deep breath and pulled her hood over her head before exiting the side of the building. She wanted to go to the garden. She wanted to see if it was as beautiful covered in snow as she had imagined. So she headed in the direction that she and the Queen had come from on her first night.
BeakJee and Si-Woo warned her that the castle grounds were huge and anyone who wasn’t familiar with it would easily get lost. She hadn’t believed them until she was standing in the middle of one of the pathways trying to figure out which way to go next.
“This is why you aren’t allowed out without an escort,” she said to herself.
The sound of voices off in the distance grabbed her attention and curiosity. Giving up on her search for the garden, she turned and made her way toward them. What she found was a group of men walking into the closed courtyard next to the training grounds. Some of the men she recognized from the camp and some she didn’t. Keeping her head down she chose to walk along the side wall to see if she could see anything.
After finding an empty crate nearby she placed it on the ground to help her see over the wall. On the other side she could see more men standing around talking. There was a building, it wasn’t too big. She guessed it was a temporary place for prisoners by the look of it. Standing next to the building she could see the King surrounded by guards and talking with one of them. “It looks like they are waiting on someone.”
“What are you doing?” The sudden voice in her ear made her squeal and lose her balance. Before she knew it she was being held in someone's arms. “It’s good to know you’re still easily startled.” Namjoon chuckled.
Yeona stood up and gave him a bow. “It’s good to know you still like to sneak up on people, Your Highness.” His body tensing up again made her bite the inside of her cheek to hold back her smile.
Namjoon straightened his back and cleared his throat, “You didn’t answer my question. What are you doing?”
“I was walking around and heard a group of people so I thought I’d see what was going on,” she confessed.
“You’re pretty far away from the building you’re staying in. Where’s your escort?” Namjoon asked, looking around.
“I don’t have one,” Yeona mumbled.
“You what? Yeona, the castle grounds are not a safe place for you to blindly wander around,” he sighed.
“I know that now. I was originally looking for the gardens.”
“You’re bored, aren’t you?”
“What?” She asked, finally looking at him.
“I’m so sorry Yeona. I should have realized that you wouldn’t enjoy being stuck inside all day, especially with nothing to do.” Namjoon turned and looked at his guards. Yeona didn’t even realize they were there. “Seokjin, Hoseok. Could you please escort Yeona back to her room?” Both men nodded and moved closer to them. “Jimin, I know you don’t really want to be here, so could you please go into my supply room and get Yeona some drawing material?”
“You don’t have to do that,” Yeona said with wide eyes.
“Drawing is something you enjoy and I want nothing more than to make you happy.” Yeona’s heart skipped when Namjoon gave her a shy smile. She didn’t realize just how much she missed his smile and dimples until just now.
“We should go before it starts.” Yeona blinked, breaking her eye contact with Namjoon at the sound of Seokjin’s voice.
“Yes you should.” Namjoon nodded, “Yeona, please no more wandering around by yourself.”
“You have my promise, your Highness,” she said with a bow.
“Good. I’ll come see you tomorrow.” He gave her another smile before leaving.
“Guys,” Yeona said as the three of them made their way away from the crowd. “What was that place?”
“It’s the execution grounds,” Hoseok answered bluntly.
“Who’s being executed?”
“The men you saved us from.”
“Oh.” Yeona’s eyes widened and she walked faster. She definitely didn’t want to see that.

“Sorry for being so late.” Namjoon said when he entered the room, “I was in the middle of eating breakfast when I was informed of the meeting.”
“You are not late, son. Councilman Sung-Ho was just getting ready to explain why he called this meeting.” The King smiled at his son as he sat next to him on the small podium.
“Please proceed,” Namjoon gestured to the wide eyed man.
“Forgive me your Highness. I didn’t know you were going to be here.” Sung-Ho said.
“I was informed that it had something to do with the women. They are my guests and aren’t able to join, so I am here to speak on their behalf.”
“Alright,” the man straightened his back. “The council members had a meeting last night. We have come to the agreement that the women will be staying in the castle the rest of the week.”
“So you wish to keep them as prisoners?” Namjoon asked.
“Not at all, your Highness. We will simply tell them that the roads are still bad and that it would be safer for them to stay until then.”
“Why lie to them? Why not simply ask them to stay?” Namjoon already knew the answer. Seokjin’s father had told him of the plan that morning. At his request, Seokjin rushed to Namjoon’s room to inform him of what they were up to.
“We want you to choose a wife by the end of the week. This way you can spend equal time with them and none of them will receive special treatment.”
“None of them have received special treatment. I’ve spent an equal amount of time with all of them, just like I was asked to.”
“Tell us, your Highness, did you meet with all the women late last night or just the woman from Hwen?” The meeting room filled with the sounds of whispers.
“Excuse me?” Namjoon asked.
“Multiple people saw you sneaking in and out of her room last night.”
“I won’t lie, I did go to her room after dinner. None of us had a chance to thank her for saving our lives, so we took the opportunity to do so. I did not sneak. I walked in and out the front door knowing people could see me. My men and her Maiden were with us the entire time.”
The entire room fell silent at the Prince’s confession.
The King clapped his hands together and said “Well. That takes care of that. Now are we in agreement that the women will be staying?”
“I will agree with the plan, but here are my stipulations.” Namjoon waved his men over to give the council members and the King a list of his demands.
“What is this? We can’t possibly agree to these,” Sung-Ho said, looking at the paper.
“The council is in charge of the laws and what goes on in this kingdom, correct?”
“Yes we are, your Highness. But..”
“Either do as I ask or send the women home,” Namjoon said standing up. “You have one hour to decide.”
“I guess I'll go eat my breakfast now.” The King stood and placed his hand on Namjoon’s shoulder, “We’ll reconvene the meeting in an hour. Let's go, son.”
The room filled with laughter as Yeona, her Uncle and Si-Woo sat around the small table eating lunch.
“So how did your breakfast with the Queen go?” KangDae asked as he refilled their cups.
“It went well,” Yeona answered. “I really like her. She made us feel very comfortable and she treated us as her equal.”
“It’s amazing that, even though she’s the queen, she is still the same Seondeok that I knew growing up.” KangDae smiled, “Did you ladies talk about anything fun?”
“The Queen asked them if they would marry the Prince,” Si-Woo said, not looking up from her food.
“Did she now?” KangDae asked in amusement. “And how did that go?” When Yeona refused to look at him he turned to talk to Si-Woo.
“Three of the women said they didn’t want to take on the responsibility of being the future queen.”
“And what about the other two?” He glanced over to his Niece who seemed very interested in her food.
“Myung,”
“Ah, the mean one that leaves the handmaidens crying,” KangDae said, recalling some of the gossip he’d heard around the castle. They’d only been there one night and she went through about ten maidens.
“Yes.” Si-Woo rolled her eyes, making him laugh, “She said that if she would be lucky enough to have the Prince ask that there was no way she’d turn him down. The role as future queen would be difficult, but the bond they’d share would make it all worth it.”
“What about you, my Niece?” KangDae tilted his head at her trying to see her eyes. “What did you tell the Queen?”
“I um..” Yeona’s words were cut off by the sound of someone knocking.
“Excuse me.” Si-Woo stood up and headed to the door. “Thank you. I’ll give it to her right away.” She said to the person on the other side.
“Who was it?” Yeona asked, looking up from the table.
“It’s a message from the council.”
“From the council?” KangDae asked as he and Yeona stood up. “Well what does it say?”
“They are concerned about us traveling so we are staying the whole week.” Yeona said, reading over the paper.
"That's strange." KangDae took the paper from her to read. "I would understand a couple of days, but a week?"
"It's a lie."
"Eek!" Si-Woo squealed at the new voice in the room.
"What are you men doing?" KangDae let out a laugh as he helped Jungkook through the window.
"Prince Namjoon sent us." Taehyung said as he made his way through.
"He wanted us to make sure that Noona knew the council was lying."
"What do you mean lying?" Yeona watched Jimin easily slip through the window.
"The roads aren't why they want to keep you here for a week. They want Namjoon to spend time with each of you and choose his wife by the end of the week." Jimin said.
"Someone told them he was here last night and the council accused him of favoritism." Taehyung added.
"Who would have told?" KangDae asked, looking at the men.
"I bet it was Myung." Everyone turned to look at Si-Woo.
"What makes you think it was her?" Yeona asked.
"After you fell asleep last night I heard a man in her room. At first I thought it was the Prince, but I didn’t see any of his men outside the door. I asked her maiden about it this morning and she said she didn’t know because Myung made her go get her some tea.”
"Do you think she has ties to someone on the council?" KangDae asked.

Chapter 34

Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
“What is going on here?” Everyone froze at the sound of the man’s voice who stood in the entryway of the soldiers training field.
Yeona watched as In-Su, the man who she’d just pinned again, eyes widened in fear. She looked at the other men and Si-Woo to see them all bowing. Yeona knew whose voice it was without even looking. He did not sound like the Namjoon she’d met over a year ago. His voice was kind and soothing in the month she spent with him. Now his voice was confident and commanding.
“Your Highness,” In-Su said as he quickly got to his feet before helping Yeona up after accidentally knocking her over. “Because I am on duty I must take full…”
“You're what?” Yeona interrupted with a shout. “If I'd known that then I would have never challenged you!” She smacked him on the arm.
“I didn’t believe the rumors going around that you were amongst the men who saved the Prince and his men. So when the opportunity to see if they were true showed I couldn’t pass it up,” He said defensively.
“You still should have told me. I would have fought KangDae or any of the other men to prove it was true.”
“You’re correct and I’m sorry. If it makes you any less angry I believe the rumors now.” In-Su stretched his sore body. “You’re one hell of a fighter, Yeona.”
“I know,” Yeona said with a big smile, “and thank you.”
The sound of Namjoon clearing his throat brought their attention back to him.
“Hoseok and Jimin, please escort the ladies to their quarters. I need to have a talk with the men.”
“Wait, they aren’t in trouble are they?” Yeona’s eyes grew wide as she stepped in front of In-Su. “If anyone should be in trouble here it’s me. It was my idea to come here in the first place.”
“Come on Noona, it’s cold and late. We should get you and Si-Woo inside where it’s warm,” Jimin said softly when he reached her side.
“I’m not leaving, Jimin.” Yeona crossed her arms.
“Yeona, please don’t make us force you,” Hoseok said as he and Si-Woo joined them.
“Let's go, Miss. I’ll make you a warm bath and we can get you into some warm clothes.” The woman said timidly as she placed Yeona’s cape on her shoulders.
“Hoseok, I am not letting these men get in trouble for something I started. If I hadn’t begged BaekJee to bring me here none of this would have happened. Besides, who is going to make me?”
“Your Prince.” Namjoon’s deep voice made everyone freeze again.
Yeona took a deep breath and clenched her fists under her cape. She faced Namjoon’s direction again. His face was blank and she could see his tightened jaw muscles. “I’m sorry your, Highness,” She said as she bowed. “I’ll be leaving now.”
Yeona didn’t wait for her escorts or her Maiden as she made her way out of the training grounds. She wasn’t sure where she was going on the dimly lit paths, but she didn’t really care.
“This way Noona,” Jimin said, gesturing toward the right direction when he caught up to her. The only response she gave him was a quiet ‘thank you’ and a nod as she once again continued on without him.
Yeona stared at her reflection in the mirror as she slowly got ready for her bath. She was annoyed. She was annoyed at Namjoon for pulling the “I’m your Prince” card and forcing her to leave. She only hoped that the prince was lenient on the men. It wasn’t their fault that she tricked BaekJee into bringing her there.
As she got in the tub. Yeona worried if she would have the same feelings for the prince as she did for the man she met in Hwen. Only time would tell.
“I have never seen the Prince show any interest in a woman before.” Si-Woo said, breaking Yeona out of her train of thought.
“What?” She asked the woman that was washing her hair.
“The way he was staring at you during dinner and then the smile he quickly hid at the training grounds. Over the past five years that I’ve worked here I’ve seen countless women trying to get his attention. But he ignored every one of their advances.”
“He’s probably just trying to figure out a way to yell at me. Besides, he has to have feelings for the other women or else they wouldn't be here.”
“It’s true he may have feelings for them. But his feelings for you are stronger. According to one of the nurses who watched over him while he was healing, the Prince said your name a few times while he was sleeping. He didn’t mention any of the other women's names. Just yours.”
“Still doesn’t mean anything.”
“He stood and watched you fight In-Su.”
“He what?” Water splashed out and soaked Si-Woo when Yeona turned in shock.
“I looked up and saw him and his men. He had a smile on his face but quickly hid it when he realized that I could see him.” The maiden replied as she tried to dry off her clothes.
“Why didn’t you say anything, Si-Woo?” Yeona asked, grabbing her towel.
“One of his guards placed a finger on his lips telling me to keep quiet, so I did. He didn't move until you had In-Su pinned.”
“Go and get yourself dried off and out of those wet clothes.” Yeona sighed. “I’ll get myself dressed.”
“Yes Miss.” Si-Woo smiled and gave her a bow before heading out of the bathing area.
Once she heard the door close, Yeona quickly put on her night clothes before placing her hair in a braid. The excitement from the day was finally catching up and her body was starting to get tired.
“That was fast,” Yeona said at the sound of the door opening. “I thought it would take…Your Highness?” Yeona tightened her robe when her eyes landed on Namjoon’s back. “I’m sorry. I thought you were Si-Woo.”
“I asked her to give us a moment.” He answered, still facing the window.
“Oh. Is there something I can help you with, your Highness?” Yeona arched an eyebrow when saw Namjoon’s back tense up.
Does he not like it when I call him that? She wondered.
“You could have been killed.”
“I promise you that both In-Su and I were being extremely careful.”
“I’m not talking about tonight.” Namjoon sighed.
“Then I’m not sure what you’re talking about your Highness.” Yeona’s lips twitched as she fought to hide her amusement.
“I’m talking about the night you helped rescue us.”
“I was perfectly fine, your Highness.” Yeona rolled her eyes.
“It wasn’t safe and you knew that. Those men could have killed you.” Namjoon said with a hint of anger.
“I know how to fight your Highness. I wasn’t alone, I had BaekJee and the rest of my team with me.”
“You shouldn’t have put yourself in danger.”
“What was I supposed to do, your Highness?” She said sarcastically “My friend came to me wounded and needed my help. Was I supposed to tell him no?”
“You could have let the men do it.”
“The men being held captive were special to me, too. And what about the women? I couldn’t just sit there. I was supposed to be in there, as well.”
Namjoon finally turned to face her.
“I didn’t intend for any of this to happen.” His eyes softened.
“You should have told me the night that we were being chased, but you chose to keep it from me. Everyone kept it from me. I could have been ready to protect myself if you would have just trusted me enough.”
“Yeona, I couldn’t tell you. It is against the law.” Namjoon slowly moved closer to her.
 “I know.”
“You know? How do you know?” Namjoon stopped in his tracks.
“The Queen told me.”
“When did you speak to my Mother?”
“We had a nice long talk when she walked me to my room.”
“What else did she tell you?”
“That’s between the Queen and I,” Yeona said smugly.
“Anything I should be concerned about?”
“Not unless you feel like keeping things from me again.”
“Again? Does that mean you would stay if I asked you to?”
“I haven’t decided.”
“But you thought about it.” Namjoon smiled when Yeona’s cheeks turned pink.
“You should leave. It’s not proper for us to be alone in a room together. Especially at this time of night.”
“You didn’t have a problem with us being alone at your house.”
“We’re not in my house Namjoon. We are in the castle and you are the prince who is being watched at all times.”
“I was being watched in Hwen too.” Namjoon chuckled.
“Just go.”
“You’re so beautiful when you get flustered.”
“Get out of my room.” Yeona snapped.
The room filled with Namjoon’s laughter. “Good night, Yeona.” He said with a bow.
She waited until he was almost out the door then she smiled and said “Good night, your Highness.”

“Miss?”
“We talked about this, Si-Woo. When we are alone you call me by my name,” Yeona replied without opening her eyes.
“Yeona,” she said with a sigh. “You need to get up so that you can get ready for dinner.”
“Fine,” Yeona groaned, sitting up and opening her eyes. “Where did those come from?” She motioned towards the shoes at the end of her bed.
“The Queen sent those. It started snowing while you were sleeping and she was afraid your feet would get too cold on the walk. So she sent each of you ladies a thicker pair.”
“I don’t even want to know how she knew our sizes.” Yeona stood up to make her way to the changing area.
“I picked this one out of the hanboks you brought. The blue is pretty and it would match the cape nicely.”
“That’s not,” Yeona stopped once she entered the changing area and saw the clothes that were hanging next to Si-Woo. “Kaira you little sneak,” she laughed and shook her head.
“Is everything alright Yeona?” Si-Woo asked with a face of concern.
“Yes everything is fine. It seems that my friend didn’t want me to leave my bags by the door for convenience, but so that she could sneak a new dress in there instead.” Yeona took a deep breath and ran her hands down her face. “Okay, let's get this done and over with as quick as possible.”
Everyone stood and bowed as the King, Queen and Prince entered the dining area. Yeona peeked through her lashes and watched their feet as they walked down the carpet in the middle of the room.
She couldn’t help the smile that formed on her face as she saw the seven swords she designed go by during the procession of royals and guards that entered the dining room. Without even knowing it, she’d accidentally lived out her father’s dream of having the royal family wear swords from his shop. The room filled with the sound of moving chairs and light chatter once the royal family and everyone else took their seats.
“Thank you everyone for joining us,” the King’s voice echoed through the silent room. “Some of you selflessly put yourself in harm's way to save not only the Prince and his men but also some women caught in the crossfire. Your bravery was above and beyond anything we have seen, or could have asked of anyone outside the royal guard. It is because of your heroics that a tragedy was avoided.”
The King raised his glass and everyone in the room followed suit. “To those who put their lives on the line and to the innocent ones that got caught up in the mess. The Royal family would like you to know that you didn't go unnoticed and we wish you a life of happiness and wealth. Cheers.”
Yeona had a difficult time keeping up with the conversations the men were having at the table as they ate. She could feel a pair of eyes watching her. She didn’t have to look up to know that it was Namjoon. Even from five tables back his gaze made her body heat up and butterflies form in her stomach.
“What did I miss?” BaekJee’s voice made Yeona jump. “Woah easy there Yeo. What makes you so jumpy?”
“He won’t stop staring at me,” she answered, taking another drink of her wine and looking back down at her plate.
“Who?”
“Jerkface up front.”
“Oh, him.” BaekJee looked up and gave Namjoon a wave, causing the Prince to finally look away. “There, he isn’t looking at you anymore. You can stop pushing your food around and eat to help absorb the glass of wine you just drank down.”
“I’ve already eaten some of it,” Yeona said, falling back against her chair with a huff.
“You need to eat more,” BaekJee picked up some of her food and brought it to her lips.
“I’m not hungry, BaekJee,” She laughed and pushed his hand away.
“Are you sick?” He placed his hand on her forehead.
“No, I'm not sick,” She said, moving his hand so that she could take a drink of her newly filled glass.
“Let me see.” He pulled the cup away from her mouth mid drink and placed his hands on her cheeks, “Ah, I see the problem.” BaekJee moved her head around as he looked into her eyes, “You're over-thinking something.  Would it have anything to do with a certain member of the Royal family?”
“He lied to me,” she answered the best she could through squished cheeks.
“He did not lie to you, Yeo. He and the rest of us were just following the law, you know that. Now tell the handsome BaekJee what’s really wrong.”
“You aren’t handsome.”
“That’s a lie and you know it,” he pouted.
“How am I supposed to compete with those women?” Yeona turned her head the best she could to look at the four women a few tables away. “Look at them BaekJee, they’re beautiful and have had a proper upbringing.”
“Yeona, stop.” BaekJee turned her around to face him again, “You are the most beautiful woman in this room. Even the Prince knows that. He hasn’t even spared the other women a glance.”
“But he saw something in them, too. He chose them, too.” She couldn’t stop the tears that left her eyes.
“He had to because it is a part of the law.” He removed his hands and wiped the tears from her cheeks. BaekJee leaned back in his chair with a sigh. He glanced up at the platform and saw Namjoon looking their way.
“Let’s go find Si-Woo. You need some fresh air,” he said as he stood up.
“How do you know my maiden’s name?” Yeona asked, taking his hand so that he could help her up.
“Yeo, the castle might be big but word travels extremely fast.” He placed her arm around his. “Like I know that you had to save one of the maidens. Which, by the way, she couldn’t stop bragging about.”
“You’re just trying to cheer me up.”
“You are correct, I am. But you have also become a favorite of the workers. You’re a good person, Yeo. Everyone knows that.”
“Is everything ok Miss?” A wide-eyed Si-Woo asked.
“Everything is fine Si-Woo. I just need some fresh air,” Yeona smiled.
“It’s still snowing pretty hard are you sure?”
“That’s perfect,” BaekJee smiled and rocked on his heels. “The snow will calm her worries.”
As the two women wandered off to get their things, BaekJee turned to look at Namjoon. His eyes were filled with worry and his jaw was clenched as he continued to look in their direction. The muscles in his jaw relaxed when BaekJee signaled to him that everything was ok.
Namjoon nodded to him and averted his eyes elsewhere. He was being watched by the members of the court and they wouldn’t be too happy if he was caught giving more attention to Yeona than the other women. But he couldn’t help it. She was the only one he hadn’t gotten to talk to yet.
He didn’t know what to say to her, and he was afraid of what she would have to say to him.

<<Previous Chapter
“KangDae told me I’d find you near the water.” Yeona jumped at the sudden voice beside her.
“Your Highness,” She quickly stood up from the bench she was sitting on, “I’m sorry if I’m not allowed,” Yeona said with a bow, “The lake is just beautiful and calming.”
“It’s perfectly fine, Yeona,” the Queen said with a smile, “Please sit back down. I was going to join you.”
Yeona nervously gave the Queen another bow before sitting back down on the bench. Yeona stared at the water once again and took a deep breath to calm her nerves.
“So I hear that you know my brother quite well?”
“I’ve known him my whole life, Your Highness. He was one of my Father’s first employees, and after my parents died he was there to help me keep the shop going,” Yeona said with a sad smile. “But after everything that has happened this year I’m not sure I know him as well as I thought.”
“He hasn’t changed since I last saw him on our farm,” the Queen said with a smile. “I know you are upset with him for keeping the secret from you, but you have to remember he wasn’t allowed to tell you.”
“That last part wasn’t just about Uncle was it?” Yeona looked down at her hands.
“You really are a smart girl aren’t you,” The Queen said with a chuckle. “You’re right it wasn’t just about him.”
“How did you feel when the King revealed his identity to you?”
“A mixture of shock and anger,” the Queen answered truthfully. “I always knew something was different about him. Much like I assume you did with my son.” Yeona nodded her head. “When Gyeongsun showed up at our farm with the Royal Guards I was shocked because never in my life had I imagined that he’d be the prince and that he was there to ask for my hand. But as the evening went on I became angry at him. So when he took me on a walk later that evening I told him everything that was on my mind. I still tease him from time to time about it,” the Queen chuckled. “But I suppose that you’ll do the same to Namjoon.”
“What?” Yeona turned towards the Queen and asked in shock.
“You should go get some rest before dinner.” The Queen changed the subject at the sound of the hourly bell and stood up, “I’ll show you to your quarters. I hope you don’t mind but I’ve asked one of my younger handmaidens to assist you while you’re staying here. I know you are only here for the night but the castle grounds can be confusing. Are you coming?” The Queen smiled at Yeona who was still sitting on the bench.
“I, um, yes!”  Yeona stammered, joining the queen at her sidep.
“Good,” The Queen placed her arm through Yeona’s. “We’ll go through the garden. Even though the cold has killed most of the plants it is still quite beautiful. The temperature seems to be dropping.”
The two of them stopped walking for a second as the Queen turned to one of her ladies, “Could you go and retrieve the purple and blue heavy cape that I don't wear for Yeona, please. I’m afraid her’s won't be heavy enough.” The maiden gave the Queen a quick bow before she hurried away.
“Thank you, Your Highness,” Yeona bowed in appreciation.
“No need to thank me.” She patted Yeona’s arm that she was still holding, “It was a gift given to me many years ago that has been just sitting in my wardrobe. Every time we go through my clothing I just can’t seem to part with it.”
“Those are two of my favorite colors.” Yeona smiled at the Queen.
“Oh really? Well, then I guess it was meant to be.” The Queen smiled back.
Yeona’s eyes scanned the garden, taking in as much of it as she could. The Queen was right. Even though the trees had lost their leaves, the grass was no longer green, and most of the other plants were dead, it was still beautiful. Yeona hoped that someday she would be able to return to the castle to see the beautiful greenery and flowers. The two of them stopped for a bit on the little bridge that went over the small stream as the Queen pointed out different things, trying her best to help the younger woman picture what the garden would look like fully in bloom.
“Rest up Yeona,” the Queen said when they reached the door to where Yeona would be staying, “You’ve had a long trip and an exciting day. I’ll see you in a few hours for dinner.”
“Is everything okay, Miss?” The maiden asked, watching Yeona.
“This room is the size of my whole house,” Yeona replied, from where she stood in the middle of the room.
“Who is that yelling?” Yeona walked towards the door and opened it just enough so that she could see out.
“That’s one of the Prince’s possible wives.” The maiden answered quietly when she joined Yeona.
“Why is she having such a fit?” The Queen told her while they were walking that the women from the camp had been invited too.
“From what I’ve been able to hear, whoever packed her clothes didn’t do it well. So now the skirt she had planned on wearing tonight is all wrinkled.”
“And she’s yelling because of that?”
“She stopped for a bit when it was announced that the Queen was here. The maiden she was given is new, she’s trying her best but the lady refuses to let her use the iron. She keeps yelling that she didn’t trust her not to burn her favorite skirt and that there’s no way she’s going to wear another one to meet the King and Queen.”
“Oh for the love of all things,” Yeona said loudly as she straightened up and slid open the doors.
“Where are you going, Miss?”
“To help the poor girl out. No one deserves to be yelled at like that, especially over something as meaningless as clothes,” Yeona answered over her shoulder as she made her way to the room the sound was coming from.
“What are you going to do Miss? You aren’t going to fight her, are you? I heard you are a really good fighter and that you are also a possible bride for the prince.”
“No, I'm not going to fight her,” Yeona answered with a smile and laugh. “Well, not unless she tries to fight someone. Who told you that I fight?”
“Words get around pretty fast here. There were rumors that a woman had helped save the Prince and his men. And seeing you standing with everyone in the courtyard only helped prove it.”
“What is your name?”
“My name Miss?” Yeona nodded at her. “It’s Si-Woo, Miss.”
“Si-Woo, I promise that I will not fight anyone unless they start it first.  And please call me Yeona or Yeo.”
Yeona paused outside the door that the yelling woman was behind. After closing her eyes and taking a deep breath Yeona straightened up her clothes and hair.
“Follow my lead,” She whispered to the confused-looking woman beside her before she opened the door.

<<Previous Chapter
Yeona looked around at the men who were standing in front of and beside her.
“Do any of you know what’s going on?” She asked.
“Sorry Yeona, we are as clueless as you are,” one of the men on the other side of the aisle replied.
“Okay,” she turned to look at her trainer and Uncle. “Why the hell is BaekJee here?”
“My son is a Royal Inspector,” her trainer answered with a proud smile.
“He’s a what?”
Their conversation was cut off as someone announced the King and Queen. The group gave them a deep bow and waited for them to sit before they stood back up and kept their heads down.
Don’t look at them unless spoken to. Kaira’s voice repeated in Yeona’s head.
“Good afternoon everyone,” the King’s voice boomed across the courtyard.
“Good afternoon your Majesty,” the group replied in unison.
“I guess you all are wondering why you've been invited here.” The King and Queen looked over the group from their seats at the top of the stairs. The Queen gave him a small nudge when she saw her brother and Yeona. “A month ago you as a group decided to take it upon yourselves to rescue six men and 4 women, also taking another man in and caring for him until he was reunited with his group.”
“Did we mess up?” Yeona heard one of the men behind her whisper.
“They wouldn't have invited us to a feast if we messed up, right?” Another man asked.
“Will you two shut up and listen!” Her Uncle hissed.
“I’m not sure what made you decide to help these strangers, but the Queen and I are very grateful.” The King smiled at his wife. “Amongst that group of men was our son, the Prince of Yia.”
Yeona’s stomach dropped. She wasn’t sure she heard him correctly, but judging by the whispers of the men around her she must have. One of the seven men she’d met over a year ago was the prince? Kaira was right in her guess.
Her mind started to go crazy while she tried to listen to what the King was saying. Every interaction she had with the guys played over and over in her head. How did she not realize something sooner? The way they spoke, the way they dressed, their mannerisms. They were pretty secretive about their lives.
Because of who I am. Namjoon’s voice echoed through her mind.
Yeona’s eyes widened as the memory of the night they were chased stood out. It all made sense now. They were after Namjoon because he was the prince. The previous encounter with the drunk men, she began to realize, they somehow recognized the seven of them and that’s why they wanted to get Yeona away from them quickly.
Yeona’s hand reached out and grabbed her Uncle’s arm attempting to hold herself up as her head started to spin.
“Are you alright?” He whispered.
“You knew.” Yeona closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “This whole time you knew who he was.”
“Told you she’d be upset,” her trainer whispered.
“You knew too?”
Commotion coming from the large gate drew everyone's attention to the opposite end of the courtyard. Yeona’s breath hitched when she saw Yoongi and SeokJin step through the gate. Both men immediately made eye contact with Yeona and gave her a small smile and nod.
“His Highness Prince Namjoon.” A loud voice announced.
“Ah, my son. What brings you here?” The King asked as the crowd started to bow.
“I heard a rumor that the men,” Yeona lifted her eyes just enough to see the end of Namjoon’s sword as he stopped on the carpet in front of her, “and the woman who saved us were here, and I wanted to thank them.”
“We were going to send for you after your meeting,” The Queen said.
“I moved my meeting back.” Namjoon clenched his jaw and tried to keep his attention on his parents and not the woman bowing beside him. “These people risked their lives to save us. The least I can do is thank them in person.”
“Very well. Then come sit with us,” the King said.
Yeona watched the feet of the seven men as they walked toward the stairs. She hadn’t realized that she had grabbed her Uncle’s arm again until he placed his hand on hers. She turned to look at him and gave him a shaky smile.
Namjoon sat at the top of the stairs with his parents while they spoke to the crowd down below. He couldn’t help but look at Yeona. She was a mixture of nervousness and anger. The nerves he could understand. But the anger part was a mystery.
He watched as she turned and gave KangDae a weak smile. His heart stopped for a moment when their eyes made contact. She was just as beautiful as the day he first saw her in Hwen.
Namjoon broke eye contact when his mother squeezed his hand, “I think it’s time for you to explain to the ladies now what happened.” She whispered, “Your father is almost done speaking. You’ll be able to thank them at the feast.” Namjoon opened his mouth to speak but closed it when his mother shook her head, “You and Yeona can talk later. Right now you both are upset. I’ll explain as much as I can to her afterward.”
“Okay,” Namjoon said softly. He gave a small nod to both his parents and quickly made his way inside the palace.
The six men following him all bumped into each other when Namjoon abruptly stopped a good distance from the door. They knew what was coming so they straightened themselves up, three of them standing on each side of the wall as they waited.
“Did any of you know that she was there that night?”
“Yes, Your Highness,” they answered.
“And not one of you thought I should know?” Namjoon tried to keep himself from getting angry, but the thought of Yeona getting hurt or worse because of him was making him upset.
“She asked us not to tell you,” Jimin answered.
“What why?”
“Because of this,” Yoongi answered, pointing a finger up and down Namjoons body, “She knew you’d be mad.”
“No offense your Highness, but Noona is a lot scarier than you,” Jungkook said with wide eyes, “You should have seen the way she was taking down those men. She even almost killed the one who knocked you out.”
“She what?” Namjoon took a deep breath. He had to remember where he was. “We are going to go talk to the women who had gotten caught up in this mess, and then you all are going to tell me everything!” he bit out.
“Yes, your highness.”

<<Previous Chapter
“Now, don’t forget the stuff I told you last night,” Kaira said, helping Yeona get dressed.
The man they’d seen Deu-Sung talking to was, in fact, a Royal messenger. After he left the Magistrates office Deu-Sung waved Yeona over and handed her an invitation.
“I’ve been invited to Yia?” Her eyes widened as she read what was written on it, “I’m going to meet the King and Queen.”  She felt the baby being removed from her hip as she started to pace. “I’m invited to a feast Kaira.” The two women looked at each other in awe.
Kaira looked at her husband, “Deu, is this good or bad? You’re the only person I know, besides my father, who's been to the castle.”
“There’s only one way to find out,” He answered as he smiled at his son.
“Deu, I’m serious. I need to know if my best friend is off to her death,” Kaira whined.
“Don’t be silly, sweetheart. Why would they go to all the trouble of sending a messenger and an invitation if they are just going to kill her?”
“But why would they invite me? Non-government officials aren’t allowed near the castle, let alone inside.” Yeona sat down on the ground as her head started to spin.
“Yeo, stand up. You’ll get your dress all dirty.” Kaira reached out her hand only for it to be slapped away.
“A dirty dress is the least of my worries Kaira.”
“Will you two settle down?” Deu-Sung couldn’t help the chuckle that came out as he watched the two women. “Yeona, you’ve done a lot of good things over the years. They probably just want to acknowledge it.”
“What if it has to do with the rescue last month?” Kaira asked with wide eyes.
“Why would they care about us saving them?” Yeona asked, standing up.
“What if they were wanted by the Royal guards?”
“Those men didn’t seem like they were bad,” Deu-sung answered his wife.
“And the men who had them definitely weren’t Royal guards. They were far too sloppy,” Yeona added as she tapped the invitation in her hand.
“Oh my,” Kaira said with a shocked face, “What if one of them was the prince?”
“Kaira, we aren’t going with that rumor again. I highly doubt that one of them was the prince. Besides, if they were, they would have had a lot more protection.”
“Why don’t you ladies head home?” Deu-sung said, kissing his son on the head before handing his wife the baby, “It’s starting to get dark and the baby is getting hungry. We’ll discuss this more over dinner.”
Yeona stared at the road ahead of her as she and the Royal messenger made their way to the palace. Neither of them said a word.
She replayed everything that Kaira told her last night. The list of things she rambled off last night and this morning was long. How to act, where to look, when was the appropriate time to speak.  When she had finished talking about the eating etiquette, Yeona had to ask her to stop. The more Kaira talked the more nervous she became. Thankfully Deu-sung was the one to walk Yeona to her horse. Whether it was his voice, or the advice he gave, she didn't know, but she felt a lot less anxious by the time they arrived at the Magistrate's office.
The nervousness returned once they entered the capital city of Yia. Everything was different compared to Hwen. From the people to the buildings and the roads. Everything was neat. In Hwen they had mainly dirt roads that would get muddy whenever it was wet outside. Here the roads were paved with rocks and stones.
Yeona’s body jerked when she felt the sudden movement of her horse. She wasn’t sure when she’d stopped moving. Judging by the angry look on the messenger's face as he huffed and took the reins from her hands, it had been a while.
The nervous butterflies grew more intense the closer they got to the palace. Yeona was glad that he had taken the reins because she was frozen wide-eyed staring as they got closer to the gates of the palace.
“Miss, you can get down now.”
Yeona snapped out of her daze and looked at the guard who was waiting to help her down.
“If you think the wall and gate are beautiful you should see what it’s like inside,” he said with a smile.
“I can take her from here.” Yeona’s face twisted in confusion when the guard suddenly straightened up at the sound of BaekJee’s voice.
“Why did he…” Yeona forgot the question when she turned to see him standing outside the now opened gates. “BaekJee, what’s going on, and why are you dressed like that?” She pointed a finger up and down the length of his body.
“I’ll answer your questions later, Yeo. Right now we need to get you with the rest of the group.”
“Group? What group?” Yeona looked around while she followed BaekJee inside the gates. “BaekJee answer me, please. Why am I here, why are you here and what group?”
BaekJee stopped and looked at his friend. “You’re here because you were invited. I’m here because I work here.” He chuckled when her eyes went wide. “And as for the group. Well,” BaekJee opened a second gate. This one led to a huge courtyard that was at the bottom of the palace steps. Standing on either side of the stone walkway was the group she had saved the seven men and four women with. “Come on Yeo,” he grabbed ahold of her arm, “We don’t want to keep them waiting.”
“Keep who waiting?”
“Niece, we are at the palace. Who do you think he’s talking about?” Yeona looked in shock at her Uncle and trainer who BaekJee had placed her next to.
“I’ll let them know everyone is here,” BaekJee smiled at them before he hurried up the stairs.
“What the hell is going on?” Yeona whispered to herself.

Chapter 29
Tumblr media
Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
The King sat across from Namjoon at his desk and watched as his son read the list of names in front of him.  For the past three weeks the guards had taken in over one hundred people including those from the camp who took part in the capture of him and his men.
Namjoon usually kept out of the Royal duties, doing solely what was required of him. It was a surprise to not only his father, but the rest of the royal court, when Namjoon showed up at one of the meetings a week after he had returned. He was now a constant by his father’s side. Namjoon had plans for the future of his kingdom and the King was excited to see them.
“Are we sure this is all of them?” Namjoon asked, not looking up from the paper.
“Would you prefer there be more names?” The King cracked a smile.
“I’d prefer it if there was none,” Namjoon let out a small chuckle and sat the papers down. Tomorrow the guards would start carrying out the punishments.
“What do you think, your Highness?” Yoongi’s father asked.
“I think they are fair considering what they did to us and the women.”
“Speaking of the women,” the King said as he stood up, “Did you get a chance to speak with your Mother? She was wanting to have a little party with the men who saved you and them.”
“Yes, I gave her the names of all the ones who were taken.”
“And what about the one who wasn’t?” The King asked, looking at Namjoon.
“I think it’s better if she didn’t know what could have happened to her.” Namjoon had purposely left Yeona’s name off the list. Not because he wanted to hide who he really was, but because he wasn’t sure how to tell her just yet.
The King and Yoongi’s father said their goodbyes to Namjoon and left. Once the doors were closed behind them the two of them looked at each other and smirked. They knew who the mystery woman was.  BaekJee and Namjoon’s guards had told them all about Yeona. Not only did she capture Namjoon’s heart, but she took care of Jimin and put her life on the line to save Namjoon and six of his men.
The King knew his son well enough to know that he was currently sitting in his room still trying to figure out how to tell Yeona everything. But what Namjoon didn’t know was that she was one of the main reasons for the little feast that the Queen was working on. When he gave her the list of women she noticed that one name was missing. A name she had heard her son mumble a few times in his sleep. So she went and investigated. First she went to the King and when he couldn’t help her, the two of them went to BaekJee and Namjoon’s guards.
The men had explained that they didn’t tell Namjoon about Yeona being there because she’d asked BaekJee and Jimin not to. The only reason why the other men knew was because they happened to be awake when they were rescued.
So while the Queen and her ladies planned the celebration they made sure to include her in the guest list. Yeona would be arriving with the other men who helped save her son. The Queen knew if they were meant to be together neither would be mad about the truth being revealed. Or at least not for too long.
“Is that everyone?” The Queen asked, looking at the stack of invitations.
“Yes your Highness,”
“Good, have them sent out first thing in the morning.”
Yeona smiled and talked to the baby that was laying in front of her while she got him ready for the day.  Her time in Jinzou was definitely what she needed. During the past month she was able to live her life carefree for the first time since her parents died.
“How was your date last night?” Kaira asked.
“It was fine.” Yeona answered, picking up her nephew.
“Are you sure it was just fine?” Kaira arched an eyebrow. “The two of you have gone out almost every night the past couple of weeks and you got home pretty late last night.”
“It was nothing like that, so just wipe that smile off of your face.” Yeona adjusted the baby on her hip and pointed at her friend. “I broke things off with him last night.”
“YOU WHAT?” Kaira’s outburst caused Yeona and the baby to jump.
“Are you ok?” Yeona brushed her hand over her nephew's hair and kissed his forehead. “Did your loud mommy scare you?”
“Why did you break it off with him?” Kaira asked in a softer tone.
“My heart just wasn’t into it as much as I wanted it to be. I was hoping it would be. But when he kissed me..”
“HE KISSED YOU?” Kaira squealed loudly, cutting Yeona off.
“Will you stop!” Yeona hissed at her friend as she tried to sooth the now crying baby, “You’re scaring the crap out of your son.” Yeona threw a toy at her which made the baby laugh, “Now, back to what I was saying. When he kissed me there was nothing. Not even an ember.” Yeona pouted, “Which is sad because I really liked him too.”
“So what took you so long to get home?” Kaira picked up a basket to place their purchased items in.
“It was still pretty early when we said our goodbyes at the gate so after he left I went for a walk. I ended up by the stream and lost track of time.”
“What did you think about while you were there?” Kaira asked when they stepped out of her house and headed towards the market.
“I’m tired of looking, Kaira. I’ve spent the last year going on so many dates. I’m tired of thinking that I’ve found the right man and then being let down. As much as I want someone to spend my life with, I don't think it’s meant for me.”
“Don’t say that Yeo,” Kaira pouted, “You never know what the universe has aligned.”
“I just want what you and Deu have. Someone to laugh with, someone to spend my days with doing things we enjoy, and maybe one day having a family. Is that too much to ask for, universe?” Yeona asked, looking up at the blue sky.
“Who you want is Namjoon.”
“I don’t want Namjoon.”
“Yes you do. That man captured your heart over a year ago in Hwen and never returned it.” The giggle that came from Kaira’s son made both the women laugh, “See, even my son knows.”
“I thought you didn’t like Namjoon anymore?”
“I still like him,” Kaira answered as she examined the items on the table, “I’m just mad at him and the other men who lied to you.”
“I do miss him, I’m not going to lie. But I also miss the other six guys and BaekJee,” Yeona sighed.
“I know. But you miss them for different reasons.” Yeona nudged Kaira with her free arm when her friend smirked and winked at her, “What? All I’m saying is that if any of the other guys showed up you’d be excited to see them in a friendly way. But if Namjoon suddenly showed up you’d be excited in a more exciting way.”
“Will you stop!” Yeona said with a laugh.
“See, that blush on your face says that I am correct.”
“It doesn't matter anyways. They are back in Emelle by now. Or whatever village they are from.”
As the women made their way back to the house they were stopped by a group of people who were gathered outside of the Magistrates Office.
“What happened?” Kaira asked, standing on her tiptoes to try and see over the crowd.
“I’m not sure,” Yeona replied, grabbing her friend’s hand and guiding her to the side entrance.
“Is that a Royal Messenger talking to Deu?”

Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
The guards stood at the palace gate as BaekJee and his men rode closer. BaekJee ignored the whispers that spread throughout the group. He hadn’t told any of them where they were headed. Only that they would be stopping in Yia.
“Son, are you trying to get us killed?” His father asked moving his horse closer.
“No,” BaekJee said with a chuckle.
“Then why are we getting closer to the Castle?”
“Remember that job I got?” His father’s eyes widened.
“What’s your business here?” Asked one of the guards.
“I have something for Head Guard Min and his Majesty the King,” BaekJee answered, stopping in front of them.
“They aren’t expecting anything this late.”
“I’m aware of that,” BaekJee said, reaching into the chest piece of his hanbok, “But they have been waiting for my arrival.” He tossed the medallion at the guard.
“Royal Inspector,” The guard said out loud after he caught the object. “Let them in and go wake up the King and Min,” He said, turning to two of his men.
BaekJee gave the man a nod when he handed him back the medallion. Once the gates were opened the group made their way inside. The whispers amongst the men returned as they made their way to the courtyard.
“You work for the King?” BaekJee’s father asked as they got off their horses.
“Why do you look so surprised? How else did you think we’d get through the gates and past the guards?”
“I figured we’d show them one of the men that are in the wagon.”
“Uncle didn’t tell you?” BaekJee chuckled.
“He told me that one of these men was the prince. Wait, he knew about you working for the King?”
“I told him I was a guard sent to watch over Yeona.” The sound of footsteps quickly coming closer made the two men stop talking.
“BaekJee! Did you find them? Are they alive?” The group of men bowed when they realized who was walking towards them.
Gyeongsun, the King, his men and a few of the Royal Guards quickly made their way toward the group. BaekJee straightened up and watched as the man wearing his nightly royal robes frantically looked around.
“Your Majesty,” BaekJee greeted him with a bow. “Could you follow me please?”
The King gave him a nod and followed him through the crowd of men toward the wagon. The King let out a sigh of relief when he looked in and saw the seven men huddled up under blankets and sleeping.
“Are they alright?” The King asked, squinting his eyes to try and see them better in what little light there was.
“They are weak and tired mostly,” BaekJee stood beside him, “His Highness got the worst of it I’m afraid. He was hit over the head pretty good before we got to him.”
“Who did this?” Yoongi’s father asked, motioning for his men to move  the seven of them inside, out of the cold.
“How empty are your cells?” BaekJee asked, turning his head.
“I’m not one hundred percent sure. Why?” Everyone turned towards the commotion at the sound of BaekJee’s whistle. Some of his men moved from the back of the group. Each either dragging or pushing a man whose hands were tied.
“There have to be at least thirty men here,” Yoongi’s father said, looking down at the men who were now kneeling in front of them.
“These are just the ones that made it,” BaekJee said as he started to walk in front of the row of men, “Some you won't recognize, but the ones you will were put in charge of either helping to protect his Highness or were supposed to protect the women.”
A smile spread across his face as he stopped and grabbed one of the men, forcing him to stand.
“This one,” He said, dragging him toward the King and Yoongi’s father, “Not only did he put up a fight when we tried to take the Prince... According to a witness, he’s also pretty close to one of your advisors.” BaekJee tilted his head to look at the nervous man who was standing behind the King, “Isn’t that right, DongHyun?”
“You know this man?” The King turned around and looked at his advisor.
“Oh, I’ve been waiting for this,” Yoongi’s father whispered to BaekJee.
“I asked you a question!” The King shouted, making the man jump.
“I um….I um…”
“Answer me now!” The King grabbed a fist full of his clothes.
“He...He’s my brother your Majesty,” the advisor stuttered.
“And why would your brother capture my son and his men?” The King spat.
“Because I hired him too.”
“Why?” The King already knew the answer but wanted him to say it out loud.
“So that we could put someone in his place that was willing to listen to us. Someone who would willingly marry a woman of our choosing.” The man stumbled a little when the King let go of him.
“You put my son, YOUR PRINCE’S, life in danger over a stupid marriage law?”
“He refused to marry any woman, whether she was of royal blood or not. So I hired my brother to hide him away long enough until everyone thought that they had either run off or died. Allowing us to appoint his replacement as the new king.”  Some of the men in the crowd winced when the sound of the man’s nose breaking under the strength of the King's fist echoed throughout the courtyard.
“Take them to the dungeons,” Yoongi’s father said to his men, “We’ll finish this later.”
Inside the castle, the seven men were placed in their separate rooms. After they were checked out by the doctor they’d been bathed and dressed in clean clothes. The Royal Chef made them and the rest of the men some warm stew.
“Where is he? Where’s my son?” The Queen asked, sliding open the doors to Namjoon’s room. At the sound of his mother’s voice, Namjoon slowly made his way out of his dressing area. Tears came to her eyes as she took in his appearance. He looked thinner, was limping, and had a bandage around his head, “My prince.”
“Hello, Mother.” Namjoon smiled as he hugged his mother. He held onto her as she cried tears of relief.
“Are you okay? They didn’t hurt you too much did they?”
“I’m fine. Just sore.”
“You should sit down and eat something,” She said, taking his hand and leading him to a table, “Eat and tell me about your trip.” She gave him a weak smile as she helped him sit.

Her Prince ✏️Prince Namjoon x OC ✏️ Romance ⚠️ Warning Fic includes: Fighting (sword and physical), blood, kidnapping, injury fighting additional warnings in tags⚠️
<<Previous Chapter
KangDae had sent a few men ahead of them to let Deu-sung  know that they were on their way. When they arrived at Jinzou, he and his men were waiting for them. They helped the women out of the wagon and ushered them into the government building so that they could warm up before going to their temporary lodging.
Deu-sung could tell by the look in Yeona’s eyes that she had a lot on her mind. She didn’t need or want to be around a lot of people right now. So he pulled one of his men aside while she was unloading her horse and told the man to accompany her to his house. He still didn’t fully know the details of what happened. All he was told is that they would be stopping here for a few days with some women who’d been kidnapped.
“Yeo,” Deu-sung  softly said when he walked up behind her.
“Hi Deu,” Yeona smiled. She was genuinely happy to see him.
“This man is going to escort you to the house.”
“Deu, I’m fine staying with everyone else. No need to make any special arrangements,” Yeona said as the man picked up her bags.
“I know. But something in your eyes tells me that you need your best friend right now.”
Kaira came running out of her house the moment she saw Yeona walk through the gate. The guard that accompanied her placed a hand on Yeona’s back, so that she wouldn’t fall into the snow when her best friend practically tackled her with a hug.
“What’s wrong?” Kaira asked, looking at her friend’s face. “Come on, let's get you inside where we can talk.” Yeona nodded as her tears started to fall.
Once they were inside and Kaira had gotten them some warm tea, Yeona told her everything. She started with Jimin showing up in the middle of the night at her house all the way to what brought her to Jinzou.
“Liars, every single one of them,” Kaira said as she paced. Yeona opened her mouth to say something and then quickly closed it when Kaira pointed at her. “Don’t say it. Don’t you dare say that they aren't all liars. They are keeping something from you and in my book that’s a lie.”
“I’m starting to think you’re more angry about this than I am.”
“Dang right I’m angry. Uncle and KangDae were supposed to take care of you while I was gone.”
“But they did.”
“They still kept things from you Yeo.” Kaira stopped pacing, pinched the bridge of her nose and let out a sigh, “Then there’s Namjoon and his friends. I told you something was off with them.”
“But yet you still put them on my list.”
“Don’t get me started on that list. I’ve torn it up and have decided to start a new one. One that doesn’t involve mysterious men. It will be filled with men that are well known and trusted.”
“Excuse me Ma’am.” The two women turned to see one of the house maids holding Kaira’s son.
“Look who’s awake,” Kaira said with a smile and took her son into her arms. “Hi baby boy. Come meet your Aunt Yeona.”
“He’s so beautiful,” Yeona said as Kaira placed him in her arms.
“I think you should stay with us for a while.” Kaira sat down next to Yeona.
“I’m going to be here for a few days or until it’s safe to travel again.”
“I was thinking longer. Like a month.”
“What?” Yeona looked away from the baby and to her friend.
“Just think of it as a vacation. You deserve one after everything you’ve been through and with how hard you’ve been working all these years.”
“Kaira, I don’t know. I don’t think it would be fair to Uncle.”
“Don’t get me started on that again. You said last year that you wanted to have more time for yourself and get to know other people.” Kaira turned to face Yeona, “Yeo, you’ve spent your whole life taking care of other people and putting yourself last. You deserve this chance to be free even if it’s just for a short time. No worrying about the shop or anything else.”
“I guess you're right. It would be nice to be able to get away and not have to worry about anything. Plus you never know,” she looked back down at the smiling baby that was on her lap, “Maybe my future husband is here.”
“Oh this is going to be so much fun,” Kaira clapped in excitement.
The next morning when Yeona went to check on her Uncle and the women, she informed him that she would be staying. When he asked her why. All she said was that she needed to get away from everything and clear her mind. He knew there was more to it but didn’t want to push her. He’d wait until she was ready.
So he nodded his head and promised to take care of things in Hwen for her.

<<Previous Chapter
“Ow!” BaekJee yelled when Yeona kicked him.
“That hurt!”
“I told you it was going to hurt before I even started,” He said, getting back to stitching up the wound on her thigh, “It’s not my fault you got yourself cut.”
“You could have fought him instead,” she retorted, removing her hood.
“You didn’t give me a chance,” BaekJee rolled his eyes.
“Just admit that you’re slower than me.”
“I’m not slower. I just had the full weight of a man dumped on me.” He reached beside him and grabbed a bandage.
“Do you think he’ll be ok?” Yeona asked.
“The doctors seem to think so.” BaekJee let out a sigh when he saw the sadness in her eyes. “Yeo,” he grabbed ahold of one of her gloved hands. She was shaking and having a difficult time taking them off, “Namjoon and his friends are going to be just fine. They just need time to rest and heal.” He gave her a soft smile.
Yeona nodded and looked at her bruised knuckles. Her body was starting to hurt the more she relaxed. She wouldn’t be able to tell how much of the pain was from bruising until she removed her clothes. She did know that she had a fat lip. She could feel the swelling and taste the blood from it.
BaekJee stayed to help her clean up as much as he could. After they laid out her clothes and he helped her untie some of her clothes, he left so that she could change and rest.
“How is she doing?” Jimin asked in a hushed tone when BaekJee walked into the tent.
“She's sore.” He took a deep breath as he looked at the other six men in the tent. The doctors checked them out and now they were resting. “She had a few cuts and bruises that I could see. The worst is the one on her thigh.”
“Namjoon woke up while the doctor was examining him. He knows that we are safe. I didn’t get a chance to tell him anything else before he fell back asleep.”
“What about the others?” BaekJee asked, sitting next to Jimin.
“They are good. Just tired and hungry. Once they’ve rested more I think it will all set in,”  Jimin answered.  “You should have seen Seokjin’s and Hoseok's faces when Jungkook and Taehyung told them that Noona was there,”  He said with a smile.
“Namjoon was almost outed by the man that Yeona was fighting.”
“Was it the same man?”
“The one you saw talking to the adviser?” Jimin nodded.
“From the description that I was given and the way he was talking I think so.” BaekJee stood up, “I’m going to speak to KangDae about taking Yeona with him to Jinzou. He’s leaving with the women at dawn. I think it will be safer for her this way.”
“She’s not going to like that idea.” The two of them looked over at Yoongi.
“I know. But like I said it will be the safest thing for her. Plus her body needs to rest and we don’t know if there’s going to be any trouble between here and the castle.”
“Do whatever you think is best.” Yoongi snuggled further into his blankets, “You were the one who was put in charge of protecting her.”
BaekJee found KangDae sitting by one of the fires. He was cleaning and sharpening the seven swords they had retrieved. He didn’t have to convince his Uncle to take Yeona with him. KangDae had already planned to do so after she’d gotten some rest.
Once the sun started to peek over the horizon KangDae went to Yeona’s tent to wake her. He was surprised to find her awake with all of her things packed up.
“Planning on going somewhere?” He asked, pointing towards her bag.
“I think it’s best if I go with you and the women,” She started slowly standing up.
“Oh? Why’s that?” He crossed his arms.
“I’m not in the best shape to be riding all the way to Emelle. The men already have enough to worry about. They don’t need me slowing them down.” She grabbed her bag.
“I’m glad you came to that decision by yourself,” he holds open the tent flaps, “Are you going to be in the wagon with the women or on horseback?”
“Horseback. It’s not that far away and it will help me clear my mind some.” KangDae gave her a nod and asked one of the men to get an extra horse.
Yeona glanced at the tent that the seven men were in. She went to check on them before she packed her things. All seven of them were asleep and looked better than they did when she had last seen them. Their bodies still needed time to fully heal, especially Namjoon’s. When the doctor came to check on her stitches he told her that he’d been hit over the head.
The man’s words from last night still rang out in her head as BaekJee helped her onto her horse. She never really cared about the seven men's backstory. They were good men and that was enough for her. But now she wondered what they had done to make someone want to hunt them down throughout seven villages. And then there was BaekJee. She knew that he lied to her last night. It seemed that everyone was keeping something from her
While she was looking at the seven men she had made her decision to leave. Something inside of her was telling her to distance herself from them. She could figure out why everyone was keeping secrets later. But for those seven...it was time to say goodbye. Was it permanent or just temporary? She didn’t know. She was going to leave that up to fate.

BaekJee leaned against the pole with Namjoon while he watched Yeona and the man circle each other in the snow. If anyone else were to see the two, they’d be confused as to why she kept talking instead of just fighting. But BaekJee knew what she was doing. He has been on the receiving end of her favorite strategy before. She was getting him to move around and talk so that she could study him. Like a beast stalking its prey, looking for its weak points, and waiting for the right time to strike.
“You have no idea what you’re getting yourself involved with,” the man said.
“I really don’t care.”
“They are powerful people and they’ll make your life a living hell.”
“It already is.”
BaekJee snorted at her reply. He knew it was a lie but her eyes were blank right now and he actually believed her.
“I guess I’m going to have to kill you and then your friend.”
“I’d like to see you try.”
“Namjoon, you should wake up. You’re missing all the fun,” BaekJee said in excitement, nudging his shoulder, as the man and Yeona’s swords hit together.
The man was good, BaekJee would give him that much. But Yeona was better. He watched as she lessened her skills to make the man think that he had a chance against her. Once she’d boosted his ego and his moves became careless she went full force. She was able to get a few good slashes on him which angered him. The man brought his sword down hard, knocking Yeona’s out of her hand and cutting her thigh.
“I told you that I was going to kill you.”
“I’m not dead yet,” Yeona said, running towards him and kicking his sword out of his hand.
She now had the man in the shape she wanted him. He was getting tired and was showing his weak spots, both from fatigue and the one's she had inflicted.
Just like she’d figured, his hand-to-hand skills were stiff. Yeona used his fresh wounds to her advantage. Striking them every chance she got.
“Come on Yeo. Now you are just playing with your kill.” BaekJee adjusted his hold on Namjoon, “If you're not going to wake up and watch her fight. At least wake up so that I don’t have to hold all your weight.”
“Wow, she’s pretty good.”
“Finally,” BaekJee said when one of the men from the other team stood beside him, “Take him.”
“Dae sent me to make sure everything was alright before we left.” The man who was much bigger than BaekJee scooped Namjoon up in his arms.
“Yeona! Either kill the man or knock him out! We need to get lover boy out of here.”  BaekJee’s eyes widened when he realized his mistake. They knew all the women’s names and hers wasn’t a common one.
“Yeona, huh,” The man said with a knowing smile as he wiped the blood from his mouth and stumbled backward, “Now I see why you're fighting so hard. You’re one of the women he’s chosen.”
“Fuck!” BaekJee whispered.  He straightened up and placed his hand on his sword ready to kill the man if he tried to say anything she wasn’t supposed to know yet.
Yeona, having heard enough of this man’s voice, took a deep breath and cracked her neck before running at him, just like she had done to Jungkook at the training grounds. She grabbed a hold of the under part of one of his arms. Using it as leverage to swing her body around his and bring him to the ground. This man wasn’t Jungkook though, this man was a threat. So instead of lightly placing him in a headlock with her thighs. Yeona locked her ankles together and used all the strength to choke the man and make him unconscious.
“Come on Yeo,” She opened her eyes to see BaekJee standing over her with an outstretched hand.
“Where’s Namjoon?” Her eyes widened in shock when she realized that BaekJee didn’t have him.
“He’s on his way back to the meet-up point. Now if you’ll kindly let go of this bastard,” He pointed at the man, “These gentlemen would like to take him.”
“Oh...OH!” Yeona quickly removed her legs from his neck and scooted away from him.
“How’s your leg?” Can you walk?” Yeona scrunched her eyebrows at BaekJee. When he pointed at the hole in her pant leg she chuckled,
“I forgot about that.” Yeona lifted her arms so that he could help her stand.
“This isn’t going to work,” He said once they started walking. “We’ve already been here long enough and the snow keeps getting heavier.”
“What do you-” Yeona squealed in shock when BaekJee scooped her up in his arms.
“You’re moving too slow.” He adjusted her and started walking again.
“BaekJee, how did that man know me?” She placed her head on his shoulder.
“Well, he and his men were going after all the women that Namjoon got close to.  Sorry about saying your name out loud like that. I didn’t realize it until afterward.”
“It’s ok. What do you think he meant by ‘they are powerful people' ?”
“Not sure,” he lied. He knew exactly who that man was working for.
“Do you think Namjoon and his friends are wanted by the Royal Guards?”
“I doubt that. If the guards wanted them they would come after them themselves. He was probably just saying things to try and scare you away.”
Yeona held on tight to BaekJee while he carried her through the cold snowy woods. When they reached the meetup spot she glanced around to make sure all six men had made it.  When she finally saw them they were all huddled together under blankets in one of the wagons. All but Namjoon were awake. But she could see the adrenaline of the night wearing off the warmer they got.
“Are you going to ride in the wagon with them?” Her Uncle asked after giving her and BaekJee a lecture about taking so long.
“No, they need that room. Besides, it would look strange if one of us rode with them.”
“Just get them back to the camp. We’ll be fine.” BaekJee added.
“Did all the women make it out?” Yeona asked, looking around.
“Yes, we took them back as soon as we found them. They’ve already been through a lot and we didn’t want them to be scared anymore.” The two of them nodded in understanding at KangDae. “Alright,” He turned to look at the group. “Let’s get these men back and treated so that we can get them home.”
