Fanfic tiktok is wild... I see so many people saying shit like "I could never read anything below 60k!!", or "What story can you even tell in under 5k words?" or "A oneshot below 10k isn't even a story!" or "I always filter completed fics by 100k< only!"
And I'm like...
A) which fandoms are you reading fics for where you have this kind of offerings on the regular?
B) have you heard of short stories? If you truly think every story NEEDS to be longform to connect with people, I sincerely feel sorry for you.
C) Average novel length is between 50k to 100k. I'm sorry, but CONSISTENTLY demanding fic writers to push out fics of that length is insane. Just think about it: YOU DEMAND AUTHORS TO PUT OUT FICS THAT COMPARE TO COMMERCIAL NOVELS IN LENGTH (AND QUALITY) AS A BASELINE.

everyday i remember bokuto is like
a legitimate captain. he's the captain. his teammates mutually agreed he should be the captain and made him the captain
he gets everyone hyped up, he cares about his teammates, he's the guy responsible for the volleyball team and making sure everyone's working hard and feeling good and not dying
and i think the perception that he's just an emotional idiot is arguably the most tragic thing about bokuto. he's good at what he does, he's capable, he's aware of his faults, but he didn't ask for intense mood swings that actively hinder his quality of life. and he's like 17 or 18, which probably makes everything worse.
and then there's akaashi, who's out here memorizing everything that comes free with neurodivergence and Messes Him Up and looks for ways to help and in retrospect, is a blessing to teenage bokuto's life tbh

no one asked for my opinion but people really lost their shit when watcher was clearly just making changes to keep their heads above water.
I'm pretty sure Patreon and YouTube changed how they pay creators this year and it's much less. Plus that amount is UNTAXED, so they would have less coming in. A fifteen person team is expensive, so is a studio in California, camera equipment. health insurance, life. etc. there's so many weird bullshit things to pay for when you run a small business
they are not rich assholes. they are a business that needs to operate
